The unit has all kinds of problems from plumbing , electrical, flooring, windows, paint marks and several tickets are already filed within 2 months of move in. It is unfortunate to see a brand new home have so many issues. It is definitely not worth the price that I would pay

Spousal Aggreement

We had many issues closing the loan even when I had over 80% down. The issue was nobody within the multiple Lennar divisions (builder, title and loans) knew who owned getting the Spousal waiver signed off. As a result, my ex had to sign through a virtual notary 4 times. This caused delays in closing which cost me $100s in rescheduling fees not to mention that they had my $1M that should have been earning $150 a day in interest for almost 2 weeks. That is almost $1000 that I will never see. As for build quality, there are many design flaws that are having to get fixed: - pathways to side ...

Salesman was unhelpful and uninterested. Katie later got involved and was a gem and her help caused us to continue on with Lennar because the other salesman was unresponsive and when we finally got in touch with him, he gave us incorrect information. Once we purchased and moved in, there was a lot of poor drywall work throughout the house. Most is being addressed by Lennar. There was not any follow up to help with solar panels setup or any other setup of technologies that came with the house. There is no one reaching out to see if everything upon move in is ok. They want you to Use the app ...

The Lennar team was very personable, but it’s clear they are overextended, with more work than they can reasonably manage. As the home neared completion, the contractor’s quality noticeably declined. The finish work was subpar, and it appears the focus was placed on quantity rather than quality.

my experience purchasing my Lennar home has unfortunately not been the best. In particular with the workmanship and the broken promises. Very little has been done for my issues i pointed out during my walk-through Cody, the sales rep was quick and responsive so I don’t anything bad to say about him. He guided us through the process nicely. And helped us navigate our experience. That part of my experience was fine. However, my experience dealing with Lennar mortgage rep, Lee was one of the worst customer experiences. So much so, I went with another mortgage company even though Lennar ...

Lennar rushed closing of the homes for the hill district, knowing well the street is not ready for living conditions. This make investors lose thousands of dollars for couple of months. Worst closing experience for the purchase of The hill district .

The closing date was delayed badly with potential loss more than $1200, we understand the challenges with the solar vendor change and asked for compensation, it was agreed during the closing process. However, once the house is closed, I was told since the deal is close, they do not think they need to honor what they promised for compensation. So disappointed

From Excitement to Frustration: My Disappointing First-Time Homebuying Journey with Lennar Homes

  • Anonymous

  • San Diego, CA

My first home was a significant milestone, but my experience with Lennar Homes fell short of expectations. While I am thrilled to have a home of my own, the process felt disjointed, transactional, often frustrating with numerous communication issues and unresolved challenges. Communication during the home-buying process was inconsistent and heavily one-sided. While Lennar’s representatives did communicate when they needed something from me, they rarely responded to my questions or requests. This left me frequently reaching out and “fetching” for answers rather than receiving proactive ...

My home still needed a few weeks of work before, but was still handed over. My recommendation is to do multiple walk throughs beforehand and not sign the pre inspection until everything is fixed. You can tell these homes were really rushed as well as closing dates. This is my 3rd new built home and 3 different builders, Lennar is at the bottom. If I could do it over again I would have been more patient and just stayed in my previous home with other than size had zero issues.

The purchase process was overall smooth. But there were a lot of issues in the house that had to be resolved. Considering that the last walkthrough was a day before our move-in day, we decided to ignore many marked touch-ups that we had requested and yet were still not fixed. Upon move-in though, we started to face many more bugging issues, such as a randomly opening garage door due to faulty switch circuit, smart frontdoor lock that was failing to pair due to faulty installation, broken patio screen upon installation, broken parts all over the place, pest infections that were in place from ...

Paint is chipping because they watered down the paint. The solar panels are not even close to netting out the results its supposed too. The amenities are not complete yet we are paying an hoa fee for them. The Mello roos is labeled as special assessment which has a 50 year bond on the property (where most have 25 year bond). The public lights to the street are not even turned on. The curbs leading into the property are incredibly high and are not up to code (which they are claiming that they are and are refusing to pay for improvements). "The Olympic pool" they are offering as a selling ...

We were passed from salesperson to salesperson, with pushy people and zero communication every step of the way, until there was money to be made. There are things that were never communicated, which we later had to deal with. Our salesperson was trying to get her name on our documents before a specific arbitrary date, so we had little time to review things, despite being legally allowed to do so. Very pushy and unapologetic. 2/10 would not recommend.
