Lennar made our home buying experience easy. They stood by us every step of the way. Their sales reps, mortgage people and interior design people were knowledgeable and pleasant throughout. They took particular attention with us since our home buying was done remotely, I would happily recommend Lennar if you are looking for a new home.

My experience buying from Lennar

Hello! My expirence doing the financial process with Lennar it wasn't pleasant as I was actuallyexpecting. The person that it was in charge of requesting information seemed she didn't know what she was doing. She made the process stressful. We had a back up Lender and the process was simple and way easier. The day that we received the keys was another stressful day since the garage didn't open and one of the keys open the house once, but didn't work again until Lennar come and fix them 2 weeks later. When finally we come inside the house I almost cried because the house has stains all over ...

Paper work was a nightmare considering we could have paid cash for the condo. My wife did weeks of computer work with your company to get things done. Maybe it was because we were out of state buyers. It was very difficult I thought.

Some what disorganized and unexpected from a big builder like Lennar

Communication: seriously lacking. Examples: 1. We were first given mailbox Keys without clearly telling the mailbox. Later mailbox keys were rekeyed without notifications 2. Lot of confusion all around regarding solar activation with sdge, sunnova and Lennar pointing fingers at each other 3. Some service items took really long for resolution In the modern era where many home owners rely on security cameras, there are serious restrictions on adding cameras.

Worst experience with Lennar Mortgage

  • Steven R.

Lennar mortgage went up to a week prior to closing and then said sorry, we cannot finance this. we had to go to a loan broker who got us a more expensive (points, interest, amount) loan within 10 days! We had to move out of our old house prior to closing, so we had to rent an AirB&B with two dogs and a cat for one week until the mortgage was approved. Horrible for all!

We just moved in and already noticed a lot of things were missed during the turnover. This would have been prevented if the site supervisor is more thorough with checking each unit before turnover. We already submitted a couple of service request for things that are avoidable in the first place.

Repair Issue

Overall the buying experience was good. There were a lot of emails that could be consolidated to avoid confusion during the buying process. The one issue we are having is, since we bought a model home, many of the options purchased are not standard and therefore repairs do not get completed in a timely fashion.

The design very poor. Here are some examples. 1. light switch located far away from entrance. You cannot turn on the lights you get into the house. Need to walk quite a few steps to get to the switch. This can be potential hazard, 2. window location at the entrance is bad. In stead of facing to the sidewalk, it faces to the neighbor. This makes the window is completely useless. 3. The powder room is so tiny. You cannot get in/out the bathroom easily. This can also be potential hazard 4. All faucets are very cheap. Windows are hard to open/close. 5. One light above the stairs ...

Lennar process is smooth but the agent we worked was not helpful , she dont have information on the community and even after we asked her to check about specific issue(dog park existing ) she took a day and informed there is no such thing adjacent to our home. She even reported to management that we are delaying the process instead of her lack of information . We were trying to buy the property from Jan2024 (from first release) but she never responeded to any of our messages or call, even if she responds she was just saying no homes available for you now, at the end we changed the Agent and ...

The water heater is placed in the living room and there were two leaks and flooded my living room. This is a very bad design by Lennar. Not to mention the water heater makes loud noise and can be heard up stairs. Some of my neighbors have the same issues with the water heater.

Cheap materials galore!

Lennar uses a blind bid process to purposefully obfuscate what a reasonable price is. It leads to buyers massively overbidding. Of course, they run a business, so it's understandable, but it massively disadvantages prospective buyers. Their team is good - fairly responsive (at least up until close of escrow - not sure how responsive they will be post closing). Materials used are VERY cheap. For example, cabinets have a LOT of issues, scratches, holes, etc. Really disappointing for a "luxury" homebuilder like Lennar. Cheap materials throughout entire home!

We identified some workmanship issues and also noticed that some of the front yart plants were dead during the walk-through session. We were disappointed that the dead plants were not replaced as it was promised and some workmanship defects were not fixed.

There is a lot of issues in the house like electrical, paintings, dirty windows etc. we did mark some of it during the walkthrough but they just remove the tape but not fix. I placed request for repair but some contractors takes time to respond and come. We closed in August but until now we still have problems. Although our customer care coordinator, Destiny is very helpful.

I feel like I was rushed into buying my second choice of the units since the release procedure was somewhat unexpected in terms of timing. Sometimes only a few hours before the Buyers response was needed to confirm. Eventually, my sales agent did give me a heads up on a unit that was available, but wasn’t my first choice, the reason I took it was your prices were going up every week. I guess The services and offers were much better in northern California compared to Southern California My friend got a house in El Dorado, California from LENNAR and her solar panels were paid. The loan process was one of the longest I’ve ever done and this is my third home purchase. Even on the day we were supposed to close thing weren’t done and we had to call to find out we weren’t closing that day. My family moved out of our apartment and had to stay in hotels for a week waiting for everything to get sorted. Once we moved in we found issue that had been identified durning the walk through that were never addressed. We have had issue with our dryer and other products and the local rep is hard to get ahold of and the customer service reps don’t reply for day some times. ...

We are happy with our new home but the quality it is in the lower end for a new build. Thy need to do a much better work during their internal QC process or selecting contractors. Found several issues after moving in and we eventually had to get an external inspector. Zero attention to detail. Still haven't found a single window frame that it is properly level in the house. Silver lining is that they provide a one year warranty and the customer service rep for my community is doing an excellent job helping us solving them.
