Lack of pride in craftsmanship

The workmanship and attention to detail is subpar to say the least. Drywall 2-3” short of the floor, hidden by the base boards/warped plywood underneath the carpet/everything painted over from the floor to returns to windows and doorknobs. Little to no insulation in the attic after being sworn to that it met standards. I could go on but you get the point. Pretty embarrassing to turnover a home like that.

Unfortunate way to treat customers

We were excited to purchase our townhome and to get in on the first offering. We had a positive experience with our salesman and patiently waited several months as the finish date was delayed over and over again. Lennar’s fiscal year ends end of November. While we were on Thanksgiving weekend with our family, we were told that our CO was approved Thanksgiving day. (Nov28). Lennar’s sales manager forced us to close remotely Saturday the 30th. At first, our experience with Lennar was fantastic. The loan team moved quickly, and everything seemed to be on track. As active duty military members using a VA loan, we were led to believe that Lennar was coordinating directly with the VA on our behalf. However, after speaking with a VA loan agent, we learned that some of the documents Lennar requested from us should have been handled by them, not us. Builders rush instead of ensuring quality products. The level of professionalism is below standard. Communication between all parties in the process is poor. If you have a new build, expect significant delays from the original move in date. I could go on, but basically expect to be disappointed and don’t set your expectations high.

Cheap fixtures and awful finishes

The house has a lot of details, is like if they are giving you the house for free, we are still waiting for a part of the refrigerator that hasn’t arrived and it’s been 2 month since we moved in. Very cheap built houses but really expensive cost

The quality of the work is not acceptable for a new home. Baseboards are not cut and connected squarely. Door trim was cut too short leaving an ugly space between the bottom of the door trim and the flooring. In one case the entire door was installed too high, so now there is a 2 inch space under the door. Windows are crooked so that our blinds have to be installed crooked in the other direction to compensate. Bathroom tile installed crooked. Bottom master shower tile installed with sharp edges are felt on feet no matter where one stands. The paver walkway to our front door is installed ...

Lennar never make the pest control on a new land construction, and now we are requesting them to control the pest presence in our home, only 3 months after they deliveried the home, and they don’t want to validate their warranty because they alleged this is not under warranty covers.

No one listened or helped with out specific needs/requests. For instance they super nailed all the floor boards KNOWING we opted out of the cheap flooring. Why would you super nail floor boards you knew were coming OFF ?

Time to update your floor plans and details. Folks no longer use phone outlets in kitchen. those god awful cheap counter tops with office style back splash of 3 inches are a joke. Flimsy overall construction. Sloppy construction. Super annoying that there are no OPTIONS for upgrades of tiles, bathrooms, etc. AWFUL that we were given just $500 of "credit" for NOT taking those god awful old fashioned floor tiles with ugly grout lines. It is a massive house. We had to upgrade EVERYTHING! SHAME ON YOU!

It’s been a horrible experience from beginning to end. I had to fight for a month and a half with Lennar to finally close on my house for they consistently had issues on their end and were not communicative about anything. I am a single woman and they dragged my process along without communicating with me at all. I finally got a MALE ADULT to go to the Lennar building and he got my house keys in two minutes. material they use is cheap and substandard. for example the counter tops and sinks in the bathrooms get stains easy and you can not take it out. a mango on the counter made a stain that is permanent. spices used in cooking around the stove made stains that can not be removed. no toilet or towel holders installed , you pay over 600k and as soon as you move in you have to hire a handyman. i see a lot of people gut their brand new house and change a lot of stuff in their new home before they move in. as i said cheap. they are putting lipstick on a pig and calling it a runway model. so sad.

Horrible home buying experience

Instead of being an exciting process, it was a headache due to lack of professionalism and business ethics. I had to get my attorneys involved that cost my an arm and a leg. I do not recommend doing business with Lennar. And everyone in my condo went through similar experiences and have the worst reviews about their experience too. Reading reviews on their social media will give you a better flavor of how unethical they are.

Frustrating and terrible buying experience

Overall my experience was downhill since the moment we decided to buy with Lennar. I could write an essay about everything that went wrong. Employees are poorly organized and departments do not communicate between each other at all. I felt like they were always trying to pull one over on me. Once I moved in and I thought the nightmare was finally over within the first week of living here we had to make 4 warranty claims. Even paying my mortgage has been a hassle. Literally could not say one good thing about this experience.

Buyers do not trust this seller. They attempt to strong arm buyers through threats of pulling on deposits. The Director of Sales for Miami, FL was a tyrant. He openly threatened to make a Veteran family go homeless because he could not grasp the concept that VA loans have certain stipulations for retirees. All of this was done to provide better profit earning for corporate lackeys at the end of the fiscal year.
