poor quality of house construction material

  • Williston, FL

Poor quality of the general construction material of the house and the trees are installed too close to the structure of the house, causing the concrete to break in future years and also the concrete they use is very poor quality than the entrance floor of the house, garage breaks down in the first days of living in the house and also the HOA is very expensive $ 90 a month, they offer absolutely nothing. We do not have swimming pools or a place to exercise to justify such an expensive payment.

Home is wonderful. However, the sales agent was terrible. Answers to questions changed from day to day. No clarity. You CANNOT trust sales agent. Please, read that contract carefully before you sign it. There is NO going back with Lennar. Sales agent had all the wrong utilities listed on sheet she gave us. When we trried to contact her to get the correct information: No answer- even going up the chain. How can people be so ignorant of the service they are suppose to provide! So, they do not tell you but the first water bill is outrageous. Our first water bill for 20 days was 500 ...

Lennar is definitely the place to get a good bang for your buck, but be prepaid for any issues to not be resolved. They’ll tell you X is going to be fixed or is on order, but then X will magically disappear and never be repaired. All of my trees have fallen over and had to be ripped out including having many electrical wiring issues in the home. The floor plans are nice and they do include things like blinds that other builders done include so that is a bonus given the issue I’ve had to deal with

Not what you expect from a brand new home

This home was not clean, poor painting everywhere especially the area above the baseboard. This means that semi-gloss was painted above the baseboard in some cases at least 5”. This was noted with both walk throughs, but was not corrected. Paint splatters on sliding doors not cleaned off and the tracks for the sliders were not cleaned. We have NEVER moved into a brand new house that was supposedly cleaned but needed through cleaning, by us, before we moved in. If this is what has happened with the other homes, I would suggest getting new contractors. What’s the deal with the cement lip ...

The salespeople were nice, and the lending department was great. But when you buy a brand new house, you expect things to be like new with no issues. We've had issue after issue with this home - from floor to ceiling, exterior & interior. The "warranty" office lies to you, takes forever to get anything done, and does not follow up. We loved the layout & the neighborhood seemed nice- but the work quality is not good.

We love our home but the home buying process was arduous at best. We have now been in our home for 5 weeks and we are waiting for repairs from the initial FaceTime walk through. All of the things that were supposed to be fixed were not. I am not sure if it is a corporate issue or just the local office. We have reached out and have not been contacted back. There is clearly a disconnect from the sales to lending to closing process. We are still waiting for confirmation of funds distributed and we found out today that Lennar did not actually pay all of the 2025 hoa dues as promised (even ...

The experience of purchasing the house was terrible. The project manager was never around, wouldn't return calls and didn't even make the final walk through of the house before my closing. Assuming he was busy and everything would be taken care of and fixed from our first walk through before closing - NEVER ASSUME SOMEONE WILL DO THEIR JOB. I closed on the house and literally all I was given was the keys to the house and 2 garage door openers. When we opened the door to the house, it was dirty, had not been fully cleaned, tiles in floor were cracked, caulking and painting needed to be ...

We purchased a new build Lennar home. We loved the layout of the house and the community is just what we were looking for. So, put up with the months of construction delays (not all of Lennar's fault) which forced us to live in a campground for 3 months. We moved into a very dirty house, It was not cleaned well after construction. Dust on all the walls, showers, counters and cabinets. The floor tile was not cleaned either. (paint and left over grout everywhere) So, our first few days in our brand new home was spent cleaning. We then started noticing several poor construction issues. Door ...

My husband and I recently purchased a new home from Lennar, we were very excited about our new home until move in day. We were told the home would be cleaned prior to move in by the general contractor, that was not done the place was so dirty I had to clean for 3 days before we could even live in it. all the floors and carpet had paint and grout residue all over, cabinets were full of debris from construction and one of the toilets had been used and never flushed. Our thermostat and HAVC system quit working after 5 weeks and when I called Lennar i was told that it was not covered by the ...

We were informed of our closing date. We were moving here from another state . We arrive a week in advance and on our 2nd day we were informed we needed more information to close. More financial info we tried and tried to obtain it but my husband had just retired and his statement wasn’t goi g to be able to be reviewed for approximately 2-3 weeks . 2 days before closing we were told we probably were not going to be able to even though we were led to believe we already had provided everything needed . A lot of promises to get us in the house. No one knows what the right hand is doing through the whole process. Lack of communication with sells people to loan officer to contractors! Signing day shows up and no one from Lennar was there, called them and they said it’s normal for us not to be there for signing day that the title company will walk you through everything you need to know! Promise us some of our closing cost back and said, oh in the middle of your contract the state changed your closing cost and we can’t give you back your money! Should have had an attorney with us!

Lennar responded:
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Robert.
We hope that as a Homeowner, we can earn back your trust and provide a better experience in the future. If you have any warrantable items or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to your local customer care team by submitting a warranty request through your Lennar Account. There is really not much good to say about this experience with this Lennar home. This is my second Lennar new home. I purchased the first in St. Augustine (Winward Ranch, Princeton). It had a few minor issues, but overall was a nice home. This home, first community for Lennar in Ocala FL, is a workmanship nightmare. From the curb appeal (lawns are substandard St. Aug grass full of weeds and different varieties) to the concrete work (just go for a walk in the hood and look, including mine!). The CM assigned to me did nothing (he had a complete list on April 29th, my closing was May 25th) ...

Lennar mortgage, the customer care team, the guy doing your walk through and the people who close with you are top notch. Lennar sales rep was completely worthless. Threatened us that we were going to lose our condo multiple times, gave no updates on status of our condo, why there were delays. And would only call with news two weeks after we got news from other people second hand. The only reason we stayed was because it would have cost us money to get out. Only showed up at our residence for literally 2 seconds after our walk through even though they told us they would be there hours before.

Lennar responded:

I had an excellent experience with Lennar sales and mortgage associates purchasing the home. The salesperson was very helpful in keeping me informed during the nearly four months until the closing. However, everything turned into a very disappointing experience on the closing day. I could not make the final walk-through of the entire house because a cleaning company was at home just an hour before the closing. The project manager assured me everything was fixed from our first inspection walk a week before the closing. Minutes before the signing, after I shared my concerns, the sales ...

Jack our sales rep was not very responsive to our questions and what was going on with house at all. After closing (which was a fiasco) you think we hear from him but no, not a word. We still have broken cabinet in bathroom and door in breakfast nook that was to be fixed never was. Closet door has one handle not painted. Called customer care about spare bathroom shower having a stress fracture and I have yet to hear from our customer representative who is supposed to be taken over claim. We purchased a house from Lennar that was under construction with the promise that it would be completed in 2 months. We moved in 6 months later, after pushing hard at the end to complete the construction. We had two walk throughs and identified over 600 items that needed to be corrected. Nearly two months after moving into the house, there are dozens of items yet to be completed. The quality of materials in the house seem to be good, but the small things that we notice every day are what drove an unfavorable experience. We still have caulk missing, uneven paint, and plumbing issues that ...

This is my first time buying with Lennar, would I do it again ? NO the quality of materials used are the cheapest they can find. As I watch the new builds down the street, I see unskilled day labor being used. They break a door and toss it. No care is given to the quality of work or workers! To be honest, they really need to find good at least half skilled labor. Mostly I see unskilled illegals working. Brought in by the truckload daily, no lie they work, but have no idea what they are doing. My low voltage electric to doorbell was put in as a 16volt and should have been a 24 voltage, the ...

From closing to getting settled in has not been a good experience. On closing day painters were still touching up the paint. The cleaner was at my home mopping and left the floor so wet it looked like the top of a lake. Response to customer care has taken over a month to get items fixed. The appliances are cheap the workmanship in probably a 7 out of 10. Probably would not purchase another Lennar home.

Let’s start with the delay in finishing the home because Lennar prioritized homes financed in house, thus causing my interest rate to rise. Then when closing happened the house was no where ready for move in and it was filthy. The dish washer wasn’t even plugged in. We had a crushed sewer pipe, there spots still missing paint almost 2 months later, yard had construction debris in it. The general inattentive attitude and the condescending response from employees, for example the fan in the living room was shaking and squeaking, when we brought this up the electrician he said “well it’s not a ...

Although i know that with any home there is no such thing as perfect, however, certain attentions to detail are clearly missing here. It definitely feels like quantity over quality. There were many things on our punch list that has still not been fixed. During our walkthroughs things were said they would be done personally by the construction manager that day, and they are still not fixed. We were told our house would be locked up at night before we were able to move in but after we had closed, and the doors were left unlocked. Again told by the construction manager. Right now we are in a ...

I was so excited to buy a Lennar home! The process started out alright, but slowly went down-hill. The communication from the salesperson was lacking. The lady in the title office was rude. Then when I had my so called”walk-through” everything got worse. My house was not completed and the work that was done-especially in some areas was so shoddy. Very poor workmanship throughout the home. I’ve been in this “construction zone” for almost two months-Lennar is very slow at trying to make things right.
