Lennar - The sales reps do a great job.

The sales reps do a great job. However, when we chose to do everything in house, we expected a well oiled machine. Lennar Mortgage & Lennar Title are anything but well piled. Their lack of communication with me and with each other were absolutely awful. I did way more work than any customer should ever hope to do. So much so that my Lennar Mortgage rep told me that we probably would not have closed on time had I not made everything happen. The quality of the house is good except in the bathrooms. The day we moved in the toilet paper roll holders fell off. I feel like they really skimped ...

I love my new hose, but way too many issues before, during and after closing, the biggest one was I was offered a house next to an empty lot, mains reason I peak this house, right on the day after closing, Lennar start building a new house right there. Very tricky sales strategies. Disappointed as well with Lennar mortgage, waiting more than 3 hours on closing date, because paperwork wasn’t ready.

Horrible week of closing experience

  • Christina S.

The week of closing was the most stressful week of my life. When I came for my walk through it was clear that no one on the Lennar side had even went inside for a minute to check things before I arrived. I was there for two hours pointing out issues. I have two young children and I was on my hands and knees feeling the stairs and felt dozens of exposed staples. If my daughters were walking on the stairs they would have gotten hurt. I was told it was that way ON PURPOSE. The whole inside of the house was painted white when my contract started it was a different color. I was told three ...

Zero transparency during the build. Build was months behind. Closing was a disaster. Quality was very poor for the price Only saving grace for Lennar has been the warranty process, to which they have been very responsive.

Many questions about utilities, HOA, mail box Keys, missing door code access, rig door camera manual, services etc. was not provided. Even house keys were not ready to deliver at closing. They were to mail them to me. they were later found, I had to return after I had signed and left. A master bathroom clogging issue took 3 weeks to be resolved which delayed our move for nearly a month. Water heater and garage door broke withing first month. Two individuals from the final breakthrough actually help covering most of these issues as they took the above and beyond approach to help.

We closed on our Lennar home recently. We are happy with our lot selection, home size, finishes, and price paid. Karly was excellent to work with in regards to new home orientation. However our trust was broken the entire time due to poor communication by many other working for Lennar, and false expectations cost us thousands of dollars in temporary housing. Given the supply and labor issues being faced in the industry, delays are understandable. However, setting realistic expectations would have been appreciated. Emails either went unanswered, answered late, or arrived with vague ...

The house was not ready to be moved in to, but it was rushed because they were trying to close for the end of their fiscal year. They have come back to fix everything that was wrong, but the contractors they sent have been terrible and made most things worse. On the day of closing we were told to show up at lennar title at 5pm to sign papers and get the keys. We were there until after 10 pm and waited for over 5 hours. That is ridiculous and a huge waste of time. We asked if we could leave and then come back when they were ready and they said they couldn’t do that and needed us to wait there ...

Service after purchase was much better than during construction. The construction managers were absolutely terrible causing months of delays due to manager oversight on easy things. They promised us closing dates and continued to miss those dates causing us to have to delay selling Two homes and missing the height of the summer market. We then had to store our moving truck contents for 2 weeks costing us 6,000.00 in extra moving fees because they didn’t hit the closing date they assured us they would make. On a good note, we love the house and are pleased with the service the warranty ...

There were a lot of things on our warranty list that had to be completed and has not been completed yet. Some of the outside stucco work looks shabby. The yards are not designed to be wheelchair accessible. Wood chips right next to driveway is messy and you can't get get out your car without stepping on them and spreading them on the driveway. It is not a good front yard design. My husband just recently found out he may have to use a wheelchair we can't get his wheelchair out or walker on a smooth surface when he first get out the car. Very organized process at first, but only to assure Lennar's rights and exemption of liabilities and obligations. My honest feeling is that the purchaser means absolutely nothing for them in any sense. Whenever things go wrong in the process (and they often do), all the burden is automatically imposed to customer. Lennar is extremely inflexible. They request escrow deposits with many days in advance, but cancel closing dates unilaterally with no (or very short) notice. If you have any problem (with loan bank, appraiser or insurance company – and I had them all), problem is all yours… No help, ...
