High pressure and coercion to buy a home that wasn’t finished

Our home buying experience wasn’t bad at first but the closer we got to closing the worse the experience was. The mortgage company told us they couldn’t lock our rate when I asked and then when our payment jumped up $400 in a matter of two months, they finally locked our rate. We were told we would close mid June so we scheduled our family vacation for the last week or May. Only to be told, that we’d close on 5/31/22. To be honest since day one I've been having bad experience with Lennars Home from the day I gave my deposit until my closing date plus things that currently have not been fixed when I was advised it will only take a week after my closing date. Just unacceptable.

Forced to close

I was forced to close the house on 11/30/21 just so that Lennar can report the sales before year-end closing. Closing was originally scheduled for online and later changed to notary. Signing was done at 11pm EST on 11/30 which was completely unreasonable. Sales/title company were unresponsive; lack of proper planning/communication (as everyone was overwork). The whole street is not even available on google map. All the houses around me are still under going construction. Rajmani is the only one that's responsive and be able to provide great service.

Absolutely awful home buying experience! There was zero communication about delays or the building process. The home was not ready for our walkthrough. Closing was moved multiple times with little to no notice. We attempted to contact customer “service” and NO ONE responded. Would not recommend Lennar as a builder. The entire experience left us disappointed and took the excitement out of buying our home.

The finance people don’t answer any calls or emails give me an hour heads up to close. Walk through was horrible. Walls weren’t straight, exterior paint doesn’t match, my washer wasn’t set up correctly and it flooded my laundry room the first time I used it. I have plenty more things that went wrong. Some were corrected but some where not. Lennar’s excuse was they are closing on 200 houses that month. How is that my problem? Every neighbor I talk to has / have complaints. Lennar financing doesn’t know how to treat its customers. Several of my neighbors had the same experience of the company not paying attention to detail. Several times I had to send multiple copies off financial records, contacts not having updated information, closing work tickets without fixing issues, and having to continually show job validation records to name just a few. They treated me and the other veterans like we were 2nd class citizens. Buyer beware!!!

My experience was a poor one from the time I put my contract in until now, three months after closing. There of been so many miscommunications and poor customer service issues they won’t all even fit in this review box. Suffice to say, I would never, under any conditions, build another house with Lennar.

My worst experience buying a home! I can’t even have a shed because the HOA said so. I’ve had to fix two doors because they don’t close. When I replaced the carpet with LVP, the amount of trash and debris swept under the trim was unbelievable! I have pictures. My yard looks like a construction site with the trash left in it. I have been working with Lennar for approximately 9 years and I have seen how over the years they are doing things from bad to worse and I appreciate that management does not care or at least they cannot do anything since the level of command is followed by one family member to another, in many cases the construction manager is the wife of the person who is in customer care or the brother of the guarantee and so in this way they cannot make each other look bad.
