High pressure and coercion to buy a home that wasn’t finished

Our home buying experience wasn’t bad at first but the closer we got to closing the worse the experience was. The mortgage company told us they couldn’t lock our rate when I asked and then when our payment jumped up $400 in a matter of two months, they finally locked our rate. We were told we would close mid June so we scheduled our family vacation for the last week or May. Only to be told, that we’d close on 5/31/22. I just bought the home and the appliances needed to switched out abs a bathroom leak started. All of this is putting my property on pause for a month due to lack of builders attention and appliances are the worse!

Quality of work on the house wasn’t what we expected. There’s a lot of things that still need to be fixed and it’s been 2 since I closed. They need to be more attentive to there customers.

To be honest since day one I've been having bad experience with Lennars Home from the day I gave my deposit until my closing date plus things that currently have not been fixed when I was advised it will only take a week after my closing date. Just unacceptable.

Forced to close

I was forced to close the house on 11/30/21 just so that Lennar can report the sales before year-end closing. Closing was originally scheduled for online and later changed to notary. Signing was done at 11pm EST on 11/30 which was completely unreasonable. Sales/title company were unresponsive; lack of proper planning/communication (as everyone was overwork). The whole street is not even available on google map. All the houses around me are still under going construction. Rajmani is the only one that's responsive and be able to provide great service.

Lack of communication and follow through

Absolutely awful home buying experience! There was zero communication about delays or the building process. The home was not ready for our walkthrough. Closing was moved multiple times with little to no notice. We attempted to contact customer “service” and NO ONE responded. Would not recommend Lennar as a builder. The entire experience left us disappointed and took the excitement out of buying our home.

The finance people don’t answer any calls or emails give me an hour heads up to close. Walk through was horrible. Walls weren’t straight, exterior paint doesn’t match, my washer wasn’t set up correctly and it flooded my laundry room the first time I used it. I have plenty more things that went wrong. Some were corrected but some where not. Lennar’s excuse was they are closing on 200 houses that month. How is that my problem? Every neighbor I talk to has / have complaints. No follow ups !!!

During my first walk, before closing, we found some issues that were supposed to be corrected. After 5 calls and the "promise" that someone would take care, 5 months after, nobody showed up !!!

Very disappointed with the construction manager and their staff for failing to remove debris before the recent hurricane (Milton) hit the area. It forced me to leave my home for safety after concerns that concrete blocks would become projectiles. I asked repeatedly for this to occur and nothing was done. Lennar has slight improvement in overall quality. However, it's still not meet customer's satisfaction. Responsiveness and coordination are still a big issues. Property orientation and closing arrangements are very confusing and not considering customer's need. Time response is extremely slow and sometimes not even replying customer's questions.

Home buying experience was as bad as it gets. Delays, LACK of commutation to no communication. Closing date got pushed multiple times. Sales Rep was terrible. Only one person who interacted with us during final inspection was good and as professional you would expect when you are making biggest purchase of your life. Always is somebody else in the company to blame. The seller agent offer incentives and sign them on a contract and then is a corporate problem we can not fulfill them. The lender blame the seller agent then his boss go sick then the lender is on vacation. Then the warranty agent blames the builder the builder blame the workers then nobody answer the phone then is something else. If Learn something about Lennar is they always excuse themselves with somebody else. But when you work for the same company. Me as a costumer don’t care in which department you work. Never again

Lennar is no longer the company that use to be. The quality of their new homes is truly sad to see. My issue can be summarized in one sentence: Brand new home with a huge leak on the roof! Took MONTHS for them to resolve the issues. All they care about is closing closing closing. Consider other options for a new home purchase.

Lennar's customer service is absolutely horrible. The responsiveness to customer issues is non-existent and no one seems to care that the home you are moving in to could be your place of living for the next 20 years or so. They seem more concerned with getting you closed and signed, your money in their hands then they stop responding to you. Slight issues are lumped in with major shortfalls in the construction and their response is, "it could take up to 90 days to resolve your issues". Horrible building company. So many things wrong with house and finding more everyday. The communication was absolutely horrendous. We were told nothing about Hué about where the closing was going to take place etc. Then we find out closing is on the line my appointment was at four and we did not even get on the line until eight because they didn’t get on. Would never buy a Lennar home again

Would NEVER buy with Lennar EVER again. House was supposed to undergo several QC reviews before my walkthrough. During my First New Home Orientation there were still huge gashes in drywall, places weren't painted, couldn't even complete the walkthrough because utilities were not on and appliances weren't installed. Home was promised in March. It was not delivered unitl the end of May. At the end of the quarter ( so it would look good on financials). A week prior to closing, we completed the home walk with lennar rep. 3 full pages of damaged items, inop equipment, broken tub and tile. Day of closing (7 days later) nothing was done. Some Repairs were done but here we are 8 months later, im still waiting for the last 4 items to be completed. NO SENSE OF URGENCY SINCE THEY ALREADY HAVE MY MONEY!

I am surprised at how the quality of LENNAR has gone down, at the level of customer service it is a disaster and at the level of construction the people in charge seem not to be qualified for those job positions, such as the Construction manager, it is outrageous that a builder like Lennar is currently in such poor and disappointing circumstances.

My buying experience was very bad with Lennar, starting from salesperson to the entire sales team gave me hard time, poor communication while your home is getting built, they can lie about anything to just sell the home. I had a very good experience with Pulti homes, and they have excellent customer Servies, i will never ever buy a Lennar home again.
