We are finishing building the house but getting little to no response from those engaged to repair

Would not be coerced into closing until house complete with just a few items to clear. We experienced no baseboard, no electric in areas, no glass in shower door, missing door handles. On and on. Too much pressure to get money in the bank for executives.

Expect to be frustrated going through the process. Lennar mad us close on our house before it was ready - the finance people must run the show. They somehow got the CO but our AC didn't work, we had missing drawers, a vent cover, the pool didn't work, missing tile, a warped wall, and more. I asked them to redo many areas of trim and the redo was worse than the original. The subs are not really skilled craftsmen so expect a lot of uneven, misaligned, or warped areas. They do respond to warranty request if you are willing to put a lot of work into submitting, tracking, scheduling, and ...

Pushed through the process by Salesperson like cattle at the “sale call”. Home incomplete, pushed to sign off on multiple incomplete items. Financing process tedious beyond acceptable. Only bright spot of the process is the Superintendent in charge of “punch out” process is apparently the only person in the Corporate machine that cares!

Lennar responded:
Hi Jeffrey, thank you for this detailed review of your experience. We want to start by apologizing for the rushed process you faced when closing on your new home. Too many defects in too many places.

Two weeks before closing, we walked through and discussed the defects that needed to be addressed. (We also missed several defects). We walked through on closing day and not one single thing on that list was fixed. As for warranty issues it seems that once we are told “that’s normal”, even though it is not normal. That’s it, no recourse.

Lennar responded:
We are sorry to hear about your experience throughout the walkthrough process and after closing on your new home. We understand you may have some issues that need resolving. To ensure the quickest resolution please submit the details using the warranty request form in your Lennar account.

We moved in and it wasn’t ready. I kept asking are we still closing end of May, is it done and was told yes and in fact it was not. We have been here since end of May and things still need done. They are getting down slowly. It would have saved a lot of headache for us, if it was done prior to move in. Fortunately, my husband works from home, so he can be here when people come to fix things. We paid almost a quarter of a million dollars for this brand new house and don’t feel we should be going thru this hastle.

Aside from Arthur R., our salesperson, who was wonderful to work with, the rest of the process of acquiring our veranda was not a pleasant experience. Shotty workmanship, rushing to get us closed when the condo was far from being ready, lack of communication, no followup with items needing attention, and more than anything, the mortgage process was so frustrating! even getting the closing paperwork by mail was a problem. Having been in real estate, buying and selling new homes as well as resale properties for more than 35 years, and helping folks with their mortgages, we must say that this ...

There is a lack of pride in workmanship and construction of my home that shows in every level. i feel like i have been robbed. buying a new home is supposed to be a happy once in a life time experience, instead i am spending every day trying to have too many things replace or repaired. on a positive note, the warranty department is excellent and is working hard to rectify all issues.

Closing was delayed many times. Last time delay was the day before closing and being out of state we had no place to go. It seems once you had the money, we had wired full payment 2 weeks before closing, that's all you care about. Lennar Wanted documents signed when items were not complete, just trust them. Closed in February still have a check list of items not completed. Amenities still not complete but HOA fees are still collected.

The construction process was very poor with poor quality observed in multiple areas. Although our construction manager was very helpful after closing, it was obvious that he had little or nominal control over the process. Quality control check points need to be established to enhance the customer experience and improve overall quality of the home

The house is beautiful, but overall the finish touches of the houses are not very well done. So many cosmetics issues. But our really bad issue is that since we move to the house the refrigerator is not working properly, I am been calling Electrolux and I am been here for almost 2 months and the part is not coming yet. The wait calls to get a hold of a agent is always around an hour, and is a company on the side that is the one that I have to deal. I called and informed this to a Lennar associate but still I do have to resolve this issue. Very disappointed that I have to buy a small ...

SHODDY WORKMANSHIP

From the drywall to the outside of the house, the workmanship is far below standard. Example: Outlet covers that fall off when you put in a plug. I can't believe I paid this kind of money for the value of the workmanship. Many corrections still not completed after almost two months living in the house.

We love our floor plan but are extremely disappointed with the quality of work on the house and feel like short cuts were probably taken. We are also displeased with the bidding and made the whole process feel like a car sales deal and more like a number not a home buyer. I wouldn’t recommend Lennar to anybody.

Don't close until you are satisfied with the condition of the home!! We were told to come down from Wisconsin and that they were ready to close. When we arrived the home was a mess and not even close to ready! Lennar will eventually make things right, but WOW, what a struggle to get there!

Sales guy who originally sold us the home- fantastic! Everything else from there- terrible. Lennar lending is terrible I would not recommend them to my pets! Lots of shady backdoor stuff going on with them. The build of the house is ok, lots of little things they don't do which are basic things in my opinion- sealing granite and floors, just to name a few. Once home is purchased and need ur repairs done- ha! Good luck with that. Our building manager was NEVER anywhere to be found. Mediocre workmanship, fast finish to meet their deadline, which meant even more corners were cut. Painting over light switches, bad wood stain on the railings. Overall pretty cheap looking. Plus the closing experience with Lennar Mortgage was a disaster. I would not buy another Lennar home.

Lennar rushed to close on the property. They scheduled 5 walk throughs at the same time with the same person. Units were lacking appliances, closet doors, garage doors and garage floor coating. The fit and finish represents a rushed build. It’s a month and a half later and unit is not complete.

My experience from start to competition was not experience I ever want again. When buying a home for 1/2 million dollars, You expect it to be finished before being pushed into closing. As for items not completed. Light in master toilet, Broken bricks summer kitchen wall, Electrical panel wrongly labeled to breakers,Handles on sliders taken from show home, master bathroom cabinets in wrong location. Still waiting for laundry cabinets 7 weeks in. I certainly would not recommend Lennar to others.

Erik the salesperson and Jaimee the site person are the only 2 Lennar people I give 5 stars. The warranty dept has been bad. The finish work is horrible. Hopefully things improve. Still no dishwasher after 6 weeks when they knew day one it had to be replaced. Hot water heater has been a problem from day one. Still don't know if you're getting a hot or cold shower. I understand the hurricane may have caused some delay, but this is ridiculous.
