My 3rd time building second time building a Lennar home, this has been the worst one by far. From the lack of communication, to the 9 week closing delay, the quality of work, missing items, incomplete items, no walk through etc. I would not recommend Lennar as a builder.

Workmanship was disappointing. The subcontractors are paid by the house so they are incentivized to move quickly to maximize how much they make. This does not result in quality work. In our house the ceiling is out of plumb by at least two inches, the windows are scratched and gouged, appliances dented, cabinets defective, trimwork cracked and poorly caulked/painted and the list goes on. We are still waiting four months after closing to correct many of these issues. It appears that Lennar has little concern with customer satisfaction and is only about closing and moving on to the next house. ... More

Low quality and poor craftsmanship.

Built too fast; workmanship poor; many punch list items; takes too long to get fixes after closing due to no incentive to do anything faster than a snail’s pace.

I have purchased six homes and this experience by far was the most disappointing. Once you sign contract to purchase home the communication ends. There was no formal sit down process nor schedule given to keep you abreast of the process. Was not encouraged to meet or speak with the construction manager. Even when I contacted the corporate office and spoke with the regional manager, there was not a demonstration to take ownership of the situation and correct or improve the process.

There is no pride in workmanship when building. Also response time in taking care of warranty issues needs to be improved.

Poor craftsmanship, horrible repairs, terrible warranty service and not a care. Wondering why we did this.

Builder and his representatives do not respond to problems beyond the first 30 days of purchasing. Everything becomes a warranty issue or an issue for one of the HOA’s. Not the easiest to navigate.

Very disappointed in our new build. Cheap construction & quality. They used the cheapest appliances they could find. The 1st 2 builds in our community have double pane windows, ours are single pane & the condensation every day is crazy. They just threw the houses together as quickly as possible with multiple issues for the homeowners to handle. Our floors ate uneven, our garage wasn't working correctly, the refrigerator & dishwasher were so cheap we have already replaced them. We regret buying a new build right now.

Lennar Mortgage is great Melissa and Jodi were amazing with the process!! As far as Lennar Sales Office, very dishonest, the quality of the home and quality of materials used, attention to detail is horrible.

This house should have never been handed over in the shape that its in. Terrible workmanship and everything seemed rushed. Zero quality control done for the price we paid. If someone spends close to a million dollars on a house you expect everything to be near perfect. Extremely disappointed and disgusted with the laundry list of punchlist items that need to be addressed.

Lennar was in a hurry to close the home. Because of this there are many items that didn't get taken care of on the final punch list. i.e. painting, paint on carpet etc.

Poor workmanship Lenard representative was not responsive at all

As so may others, we moved here from out of state and waited patiently for the house to be ready. There is not enough room here for me to list all of things that were - and still are - wrong with this house. I am not referring to little nit picky things. I mean things as bad as dangerous exposed electrical issues that finally got fixed 7 weeks after we closed. We own another Lennar house in a different state so we know that Lennar does do good work (despite its many negative reviews.) However - our experience with this house has been nothing but negative. We found out that it never even had a proper walk through because the guy was on vacation that week - can you imagine? The worst part is that we are easy going people. If there is a problem we don't complain. Instead we just want the steps to get it fixed. We have been lied to every step of the way. Our contact person harps on what was not discussed at the 30 day walk through, implying that things may not get fixed. Note - the 30 day walk through is a big joke. When there are this many things wrong you can't rush through a house and expect to get it all. If there is a 1 year warranty why can't it get fixed? Why can't we have what we paid for? This answer is not made clear. We don't understand why the response isn't more professional - such as - I am sorry this happened. Here is what we need to do to fix this for you. Instead our person tells us how this is Lennar policy and there is nothing that can be done. We have crushed cabinets and drawers, areas where the granite is not attached to the wall, pavers that were destroyed by their constructions workers, a cracked sink, major scratch in a tub, scratched up stuff everywhere, the dry wall needs to be redone in half the house, and oh, how I can go on! It has become a full time job dealing with this, waiting on vendors daily. When the plumber mentioned the cracked sink we were told that he had no right to tell us that. What kind of lack of integrity is this? Of course he should have told us. That is why he was there. If I, who am not a builder or a construction worker, have to locate all these issues - what about the issues that my lack of experience won't find? My biggest question is - Does Lennar even care? I attribute the success of my former business not only to quality of service, but to the highest level of customer service. I see NO customer service with this current Lennar experience. Lots of unfinished sloppy work. Being addressed slowly. But have confidence that all will be addressed

Very rushed closing with hundreds of punch list items, some not fixed yet. Warranty service which is supposed to start at 30 Days is just now contacting us at 60 days. Sales and Finance teams delivered, and Construction team helpful, but corporate control of the process and follow up is non-existant.

That lennar doesn’t follow thru on issues. Lennar has been procrastinating on a leak in my garage for well over a month. The pavers have been removed from the side of my garage. How can it take so long to fix a leak. There is now a tropical storm coming. I’m concerned about flooding and possible damage to the slab.

Hi Everything is delayed abd hard to get info from sales people. Reluctant to give feedback and answer questions in regards to ongoing progress. Like pulling teeth hard to get info. Now amenity center is delayed when we contracted we were told summer 2021 now summer 2022 Very much not happy . Wish we could get out of our contract Hope someone hears me abd contacts me

I initially started working with one man he was no help helping me answer my questions. Meant with him twice before a purchased my home. Then he was gone. No one ever contacted me again. Tried to call and got no answer. Finally I drove up here to see what was going on and I was told he left the company. That was it. Finally I was told someone would contact me . No one did. I drove here again. Approximately 2 hour drive. This man in the office said he had a headache and couldn’t talk to me because he was going to lunch. I waited with my friend, another hour and a half when he returned. I walked in his office and said I just have a few questions about my contract. He grabbed my contract looked at what I had circled threw it at me, tearing it and said go home and read it again. My friend and I were in shock! I had just spent over 6 hundred thousand dollars and I was treated this badly. I went to a lawyer to get out of the contract but was told I was stuck! I was so terrified I had made the biggest mistake of my life. Nothing changed until I finally got word the home was finally ready. I had been assigned a new rep and she answered my calls . After I moved in the cooperation was unbelievably better. My girl assigned to fix the things that had to be changed were handled so well and the people were so friendly and supportive and followed through beautifully. But the beginning was so horrible that I have a hard time getting past it. ... More

The construction side was great, they were attentive, prompt, fixed any issues right away, communicated well. The mortgage side was awful. They messed numbers up three times, over a month later told us we weren’t qualified to begin with, all because they never factored in 3/4 of our income from the very start. Too many people to talk to, no one knows what’s going on. Concerning payoffs is a joke. We paid down 90% of what we owed, provided more than enough proof that we did so, then argued that we had to pay Lennar the full amount still, we did. Lennar told us they’d cut us a check for the full amount we owed then other companies would pay us back the difference. That’s not what happened which led to more confusion. Horrible experience on the mortgage side. Never again will we buy Lennar nor recommend the company based on that. You’d get more stars if it was even slightly better, but it wasn’t. It cost us a few thousand more because we had to keep renting because no one could get their act together and figure simple things out that were on the most basic level of their job description. ... There were just too many missing accessories, unfinished items, broken tiles. And no opportunity to give input into appliances or needed vents, such as in the garage.

Overall, Lennar builds a decent house. However, as I’ve now learned, local workers impact the quality of the final build and buying experience a great deal. My first Lennar home was immaculate at closing. This new one was not complete, had a long list of things to finish or redo, and very dirty. Since closing Lennar has made some effort, albeit very disjointed and longer than it should be, to take of the issues. There were a number of problems in the buying process that led to delays in closing. In the three times this occurred, we were not informed until the very last minute and without sufficient transparency by sales and construction. The “everything’s included” slogan still holds true but the quality of what you get is way less than my first home. Appliances are the cheapest GE models vs the higher end models I had previously. Lennar’s financing group, on the other hand, was very responsive and prompt. In the end, we have made the new house home, but it requires a lot more personal effort than it should have. I may have had expectations set by my first experience that could not be met by the second, but I think they can and should do better by their buyers. ... More

Forced to close with no regard for customer satisfaction

The contractor and the customer warranty woman had no time to talk to me…..waited a long time for cabinet drawers……I have a tree still down from Ian & the fact that I closed in the 31st of August, but still couldn’t move until 9/16 since I was waiting for drawers which I finally came in and placed on 10/24. Then one drawer was cracked, so they had to order a new one. That was just the tip of my experience.
