The process wasn’t smooth. Closing delayed twice, zero celebration-just were given a snack cake and a goodbye after spending more than a half million dollars!

Positive Experience with Lennar — Room for Improvement in Build Quality

Overall, my experience with Lennar was positive in many ways. The sales team was great—friendly, professional, and wonderful to work with. The closing process went smoothly with good communication throughout. That said, the build quality could have used more attention to detail. There were several issues before after closing, but the team has been responsive and continues to work with me to resolve them. Still some things to be addressed, but I appreciate their follow-up and effort.

Everything was so easy, from looking at the houses through completion of approval for my mortgage. Dominique and Samer were there with quick response to all of my questions and both were super nice, helpful and a pleasure to work with. Brandon the construction manager is also super nice and was so very helpful after I locked myself out of my new home (technology lol) I can’t thank him enough and now the rest of the houses are complete I miss seeing him drive by. Dominique, Samer and Brandon are an asset to Lennar.

We recently bought a house at Milford Park our New Home Consultant Patrick was very helpful and friendly. Answered all of our questions and was extremely accessible throughout the entire process. The Mortgage application and process with Lennar Mortgage and the communication with our Loan Officer Lance and Loan Processor Jennifer ws also a very smooth experience. The quality of the house is very poor, especially the painting work. Although I had many things corrected later, after moving in I still found many quality issues. My friend also bought a Lennar home, but their construction team did a great job, while the team that worked on my house was terrible. In addition, the paint quality is very bad. If I had been told at the time that I could choose better paint, I definitely would have paid extra for it.

This is our third brand new home and we’ve been consistently disappointed with the quality of the Lennar home. Cheap carpet, no handles on any cabinets, dirty when we moved in, cabinets hung so high that the top shelves are unreachable (we’ve never had cabinets that were placed so oddly high), extremely loud furnace in the middle of the home. Zero stars. Disappointed buyer.

I got to experience the building of the house. There are issues I experienced during my build. First issue would be the siding being installed as though they were shingles and not staggered like it should have been. Second would be the flooring being installed the same way! There was a stair step pattern. Flooring should've been sporadically staggered. Neither the siding nor the flooring was corrected. We only met the construction manager after we closed, and did a brief walk around, I believe that he did address the issues our individual inspector noted during the build process. Dominique Peck, Sales Consultant, was excellent. She was always very responsive to our many questions. Jackie Dearmond, Concierge, was quite responsive to our questions and in providing necessary information needed all the way to our closing date.

Lennar emphasizes that Sod is not covered under warranty. Understandable! However, what they don’t tell you is they will come and tear your yard up (digging and whatnot) and won’t even notify the home owner. What they won’t tell you is that they’ll replace all the damage done by construction at the lowest priority I’ve even experienced. We were told our oven was brand new (we found a scratch on it before signing and told them we wanted it replaced). They covered the scratch so we didn’t know it was the same one and shipped us a new door AFTER WE SIGNED so it wasn’t covered under warranty ...

Moved in 6 weeks ago. They didn't finish caulking the upstairs bathroom, the laundry room door doesn't latch, one wall in the upstairs has drywall that moves when you push on it (not properly nailed up), and they left half the building extras in my master bedroom instead of the garage. Aside from the use of flat paint in the bathroom, it's fine. The bigger issue is that my loan agent told me that the first year of HOA fees was covered with my mortgage. Lots of paint splatters. Windows were filthy…..never cleaned after installation. Construction debris at the end of the street has never been cleaned up. Positives….. quality flooring. Clean installation of furnace and water heater. Masonry work looks good. Appliances are above average. Closing was seamless Suggestions to make it better. Use screws for Sheetrock instead of nails to eliminate nail pops. Don’t use FLAT paint. Satin would improve the look and cleaning substantially. Working with Taylor was amazing. Unfortunately Taylor doesn’t manage all aspects of the buying experience. The financing and getting to close was a disaster. It seemed like this was Lennars first home to mortgage and close. The price we ended paying is probably “fair” in today’s market but I do not think the price the home was listed at and the quality that went into building the home are comparable. Lennar did not provide quality workmanship during the build process. Multiple issues and after the fact warranty claims. Cracked concrete, dented garage doors, poor drywall and trim quality, damaged cabinets, condensation on fireplace glass, unable to cool upstairs with size of AC unit, no electrical junction box, missing stud in wall, damaged stair railing, yard retaining water, dead landscaping, and more.
