Completely Disappointed

I caution buyers on purchasing your new build with Lennar. Especially during this hostile market where there is a high demand for homes and a shortage of supplies. My home was handed to me with a load of problems as a result of rushed work, poor quality of workmanship, and materials. To make matters worse, the customer care team has been non responsive to any of the 8 service tickets I’ve submitted. I’m going into my 5th month of living in the house and the amount and nature of the issues in the house are just unacceptable. The worst one of all is the water that leaks in through my master ...

Settlement date delayed twice, including Friday 8PM phone call that Monday settlement will be delayed. Things that should be fixed after New Home Orientation were not done,l. New home but l Pros: Very nice community and responsiveness of construction management to the issue. In general feels like there is minimum attention paid to overall look and feel of a new home. Every crew was responsible for something leaving mess behind and there was no control over it. As we life here over 45 days now, we are still find new things that should have been caught and fixed before by managers.

There seem to be a lot of problems with these Lennar townhomes such as the cheap materials and bad workmanship. Cheap flooring, carpet coming apart, floor squeaking, paint overspray, ceiling uneven, bad HVAC work. The caps in the streey for the water are broken off and not replaced so there are big holes in the road where someone could step into. A lot of neighbors were lied to about the neighborhood including myself, we were told there would be no building behind our homes to block the mountain view which why i purchased here.

I commissioned the construction of an Ashton model single-family home in the Shenandoah Springs Community. I am a Structural Engineer and have worked as a General Contractor my entire career. So my review will be performed through this lens. SALES: Very eager to make the sale and then all communications ceased. They requested $10,000 made in two payments as a deposit to hold the lot and begin construction. I paid the first $5,000 and then I had to complain to receive the payment link for the second $5,000 payment which almost put me in default of contract and would allow Lennar to seize my ...

My home was built using lock luster effort. Everything from the materials and attention to detail is lack luster. My home is falling apart with so many defects that I have marked. I have purchased from every major builder before and Lennar doesn’t even earn a spot at the table in my opinion…

the floors of the interior of the house unevenly and noisy when walking like squealing wood, doors without finish, the handrails of the stairs without fine finish, rather scratchy and unpolished or varnished, sliding doors that get stuck because of the poorly installed, and worst of all is that to attend a claim, The owner has to accept the time and days so that they go do the work that should be done before selling the house, and even so they go and leave the work unfinished.

Great Experience After Settlement - Not Before

We love our home and had a great experience once getting past the mortgage process with Lennar Mortgage. The sales and mortgage experience was abysmal. The settlement coordinator for Lennar was absolutely awful! The settlement company was great as well as the construction manager and the gentleman who explained the home and features before settlement. They are the only reason we are giving any stars. Don't be afraid to ask questions and request to be transferred to new employees if you aren't happy with the ones you are first put in touch with. We had to escalate our concerns to a manager who ...
Lennar responded:
Thank you for sharing both the positive and challenging parts of your experience. We’re so glad to hear that you love your new home and that our construction team and orientation staff made a positive impact. At the same time, we’re truly sorry to learn that aspects of your mortgage and settlement experience fell short. That’s not the level of service we aim to provide, and we regret the frustration you encountered along the ...

Kara and Peggy in the sales office are BEYOND responsive and kind! They updated me every step of the way and demonstrated keen responsiveness to all my questions and were flexible and patient. Construction manager Mike also very amicable! Business office that dealt with the loan portion was a headache but all in all I got where I needed to be and LOVE my new home so far!

My experience with Lennar was less than exciting and fun. However, I am Very pleased with my home. There were delay after delay. There were a few people trying to push and help but at times it seems that I was told things to quiet me. My overall experience was not fun and took the excitement away from the experience of home buying. The seller agent that was on sight? I barely heard from and I had to contact her for questions. Just a mess. But Overall I am happy with my home after waiting to close after a year and six months wait.

I did not have a great experience with the sales office. There were many errors in the beginning. Also, I think some need more customer service training on how to answer questions. I was consistently told Lennar has all the control; the buyer doesn’t have a say. It’s very disheartening when you hear that over and over. The construction people were awesome!!!

Buying a home can be a stressful experience, but with Lennar specifically you’re in for a wild ride, and I don’t mean in the fun way. Be prepared to receive an unfinished product, and be forced to close regardless. Be prepared for lack of knowledge of what Lennar even offers via sales consultant and lack of work ethic and cooperation. After the hurricane that was getting this home, 5 months later I can finally say it is a finished, beautiful product after many warranty claims, some of which are still unfinished. But the process in and of itself was a nightmare by most parties (they have ...

Started out great. Our application and special requirements all sent in to underwriters for review. About two weeks from our closing date, the woman in. Sales contacts us to let us know that they decided to relist our house at a lower price!!!! What the "f"? We were so close to the end of our underwriting, there was no reason to expect we would not close. We worked hard the entire process and did close on the home,on time. We did Not expect to have the house taken from us when we knew we had more time. Plus they listed it for cheaper. Touring new buyers through the house we already ...

I purchased this home due to hot market and inflation. I couldn’t pick out my own options. Ok, fine. Their construction managers were the worst to dealt with. I had to go to their managers to get approval for everything. Their professionalism made my home buying experience a nightmare. On top of that, too many things were wrong with the house prior to settlement. After settlement, moved in and found more issues with the house. Construction manager did not get a lot of it fixed. The Lennar experience can be broken into a couple categories: buying and construction. The buying experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Our home delivery was delayed by 6 months, and the permit process was out of Lennar’s control, but the communication breakdown was unprofessional. We changed our point of contact four times, and were left in the dark unless we reached out for updates. We could anticipate that the home-building process may get pushed to the right, but the lack of communication was downright awful. The lack of communication and misguidings by Lennar was ...

Truth be told I went with Lennar because of all of the in-home design options they offered. After touring the staged homes, it took 3 attempts at getting a home because Lennar's internet sales team and new home sales team were not in sync on new customer appointments, therefore they were selling homes to people who did not have an appointment, even though I scheduled an appointment twice with them . Fast forward, on my third attempt I finally was able to pick my lot, but after doing so they told me the particular home build wasn't available on most of there lots, and the one that was ...

Lack of quality in workmanship (paint, alignment, quality finishes, etc)
- Alan L.

It doesn't appear that the construction team did a quality check/inspection on all the sub-contractor work. Since we moved in this past January, we have had several visits from contractors to repair/finish work that should've been completed before closing. Cracks in windows, unfinished paint jobs, drywall issues. It is very noticeable to see the poor workmanship and lack of quality in how the work was supervised. We were not expecting to have all these issues within the first three months of living in a brand new home.

Sub-par engineering, construction supervision and quality of workmanship. Lack of diligent workmanship is a reflection of the builder's rush to complete home construction without paying attention to detail and pride in work quality. Customer service is wanting and repeated subcontractor visits are required to rectify mistakes/blunders.

In the 5 short months that I have lived in my home I have had to have several contractors back out to fix things that I feel you should not have to fix in less than 5 months. My hardwood floors have a gab that can easily be seen and collects crumbs and other debris that im told is an acceptable gab but looks horrible. And now I have a second location just not as bad as the first. I have an doorway that meets with the ceramic tile that hurts your feet if you step on it that does not get a transition plate due to the house not being DESIGNED with one. The sales team was helpful and knowledgeable until the contract was signed. After signing their ability to respond to emails and provide answers suddenly disappeared. The construction management team was frequently dismissive about concerns and condescending in their responses. After closing, the entire Lennar team was slow to accept responsibility for workmanship and warranty issues that arose while Lennar was still in possession of the house but were not discoverable until after we moved in.
