Nice sales team but construction quality needs improvement

Materials were decent for this price point, but the quality of workmanship was sloppy in many places - unfortunately common in mass-produced homes in this area. There were quite a few things I had to fix on my own after moving in. The builder, warranty team, and trade partners are very slow to respond to issues. The only issue that was addressed in a timely manner was a gas leak due to the stove not being installed properly. Even then, it was a pain to reach a customer care rep and the plumbing company rep. Sales team was friendly and knowledgeable. Lennar Title rep was unresponsive and ...

I the space and the layout of the house. I hate the quality of the workmanship, from the paint work to the interior door (all of them rattle), and the loose downspouts that drive me crazy at night time, the creaking floor and falling recess lights those are few examples of the list of disappointment. We did have a good experience with our sells person.

It is annoying that the board between the bedroom and the bathrooms has a high metal piece as the divider and allows for people to stub their toes and even though the inspector stated that needed to be fixed the builder brushed it off and stated thats how lennar has us do it. Even though the title should be even with that piece. Also the doors are all to low to the ground so you can't even have rugs in your bathrooms. The paint that is used seems cheap and you can see every fingerprint on the walls. Closing was the worst experience and such a hassle. Closing was too far away and not ...

Disappointing build quality

I’ve been terribly disappointed in the build quality of this house overall. The whole house feels rushed. The garage was left in terrible shape. The drywall tape isn’t fully secured to the wall. They used mud to cover big gaps around light fixtures, windows, and calk around door panels. The furnace was labeled incorrectly in the fuse panel, which was discovered because it kept blowing the fuse. When the electrician came to fix it he looked at the furnace and found it was wired incorrectly. Wires weren’t tightened down causing the power to arc, and trip the fuse. There is a full size wood nail ...

It was so stressful and so frustrating experience buying a home with Lennar. I’m not sure it’s in this area itself or from others areas too. I had experienced a lot of hidden things and responses from teams are horrible and construction is not good as other builders. I did mistake buying this home please don’t fall in the trap! No parking HOA sucks there won’t be any follow up in the issues you raised and no one cares once you buy home!!! Again I will take complete responsibility of my mistake which I have done in my life and if anyone read this don’t just look at the brand. Also club house ...

I had an amazing experience with the salesperson and the Mortgage company when buying my home but the quality and craftsmanship of the home is very poor. I have had nothing but issues since the purchase of the home. the major issues I have is water getting into my homes from the roof and window. this has been an ongoing issue that I thought was fix but as of today with the rain, I found out its not. I am totally frustrated and can't seem to get in contact with anyone high up in the company. I would not recommend the purchase of a lennar home.

Floorboards don’t meet edge to edge. Carpets have staples popping out and not secure to the floors, drywall and paint left on and in between floor boards, paint on every baseboard of every entryway, shower tiles uneven, no grout sealant in showers, overuse and build-up of caulk, crown is cracked from top to bottom, line work from wall to crown to ceiling is uneven and spotty -ranging from not meeting to edge to crossing over onto the crown, paint on tile edges, center island ought to have sensibly been measured to a single top rather than molding two pieces together at what apparently was the ...

Lennar has great potential however unfortunately my experience has been subpar and least satisfactory. The workmanship is not great and customer service needs a ton of work. As a millennial I can appreciate Lennar moving towards a “one stop shop” approach, as that did make things simpler in the home buying process. However, there a still lot of areas that need work for a streamlined process to succeed and Lennar does not have that. For that reason I have not and will not recommend them as a builder. I would not trust them with another new build in the future.

Lennar responded:

I was so excited about purchasing a home with Lennar but unfortunately my excitement was short lived once I signed my settlement and received the keys to my new townhouse. Immediately I noticed the poor craftsmanship of my new build it was like the builder rushed putting the house together. There were noticeable errors and issues throughout my home that I’m still working with customer care to fix (which is a nightmare within itself). I reached out to the builder to address the issues and we scheduled a time to do a walk through inspection of my home and he never showed up for the appointment ...

The worst materials used, drywall and flooring…clearly emphasized on plug n play model for profit. Flooring has no proper insulation…4 months in and still waiting for repair to damages. LENNAR is terrible. I am looking forward to selling as home appreciate. I will never ever go with Lennar again. Took 3 months to finally get garbage receptacles, however it’s been 5 weeks since trash pickup, I still haven’t gotten my trash picked up and have escalated. There us no consistency within the Lennar teams which takes away from the process. The follow-up is poor, the workmanship is sloppy and everyone blames the last person when there are mistakes. During the walkthrough, I pointed out areas of concern that were not addressed when I moved in. The house was spot cleaned, ie. Dirty windows, paint on the floors and windows, paint on the railings and carpet, debris from the sanding left along the trim of the walls, and on the flooring. While the carp we ts were vacuumed and the house smelled fresh, it was not cleaned properly. It’s only been a few months and every day I find something else that was done wrong. The paint job looks like it was done by a blind person or someone who didn’t care. The bench in the primary bathroom is unusable and a host of other issues. I could not in good faith recommend a builder who would release a $400k+ home as if it was an auction as is house. We got sucked into using Lennar's lender for money towards closing. If the housing market wasn't so tight right now we would have backed out after dealing with the lender Jennifer. She was unresponsive, unprofessional & lacked knowledge required to do her job. It was a terrible first time homebuying experience. If you can avoid this, go with Lennar, if not stay clear.

We are very pleased with the layout of our home and the location, however, the home buying experience was terrible. The Lennar sales team did not take us seriously. The individual that worked with us during the sales process told us that there was only one “stick” left of homes in our price range… after a week of back and forth we found out that this wasn’t true, and there were two additional sticks that were unsold.
