We bought a home in a new Lennar development. Our keys don’t work in the locks, the trim/walls are bowed and crooked, they “cleaned” the house prior to close yet it was still filthy. Lighting fixtures are mounted crooked, our ring doorbell was mounted crooked. Least pleasant closing experience I have ever encountered. They will not negotiate and claim there are other offers so you are pressured to proceed. I like our home, but I feel dirty after buying it.

Lennar responded:

Good house, but not so good home buying experience.

Good house, but responses to any questions or concerns is bad. The customer's satisfaction is not the primary objective, but rather it is the selling of the house. After the house is sold, the response to any questions is even more bad.

Make sure you get everything fixed before you buy and sign that dotted line. also, give it all a really good look and get your own professional to review your house. quality of certain materials like doors very cheap and can hear everything from room to room in through the wall, and every foot step in house.

This is our second Lennar build. Our new house was build in a more expensive neighborhood. The quality of materials and workmanship do now show that we are in a nicer neighborhood. There were clearly so many cut corners that were not cut in our first house. The overall experience was much worse compared to our first build. We still have issues that have not been handled and we have lived in our new home for 2 months now. We do understand that our house was build in the middle of a pandemic, but for what we are spending, more care should be spent to make sure the customer is getting a quality ...

The things needing fixing are so basic. For example majority of the doors don't close without rubbing against the door frame. Craftsmanship is poor on the baseboard trim in many places. Paint edging where it meets the ceiling looks like I did it myself without any care.

Lennar - Initial meeting with sales rep was great.

Initial meeting with sales rep was great. Told about 6 months to build. When signing purchase agreement, $10,000 was added to cost of lot and a tentative closing date of 8 months out. Although they really didn’t give a reason, I sensed they didn’t want to lock in a lower price knowing that it would take longer to build during supply chain shortage and labor issues. Actual closing date was backed up twice and ended up being 9 months and 2 weeks after singing purchase agreement. Front line staff were always cordial and empathetic but it was obvious there was much going on behind the scenes ...

Lennar responded:
Thank you for taking the time to share your review. While we are thrilled to learn your initial interactions were great, we want to apologize for your experience with broken promises and poor service. Monitor every detail. We have crooked walls, cracked trim, cabinet doors all needed replacement including at least ten doors. Lennar definitely cut corners to get this house done asap. Instead of getting a new house, we now have a house that has had a lot of work redone and looks patchy. Floor boards were cracked and scratched during install. Found plastic in our furnace. Window and plumbing issues. Basically every trade has had to return to our home to fix something.

Lennar responded:
Hi Danielle, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We want to apologize for the number of items that have needed to be addressed due to initial installation or quality issues. We were so thrilled to purchase our new home with Lennar. We had a lot of issues and the construction manager at the time was not truthful with us. We had over an inch of water standing in our basement after the drywall was installed and he said we only had a few puddles. It ended up that Lennar had to hire a restoration company to come in and found a lot of mold in our walls. It was eventually taken care of. Then when we moved in and the craftsmanship of the house is sub par. Door frames are not level and poor quality with walls. I could go on but this experience has been not stellar ...

If you want to pay high dollar for a cheap build with corners cut everywhere you look - buy a Lennar home. They don’t even paint (or prime) the ceilings. The things we’ve discovered after it was too late have continued to pile up and cost us over $10,000 in upgrades that should have been standard for a home of this price within the first 2 months. Stay away.

Lennar responded:
Thank you Charles, for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that your home did not meet your expectations. If any outstanding warrantable items need our attention, please submit an email to CorporateCustomerCare@Lennar.com so we can follow up with you.

I am dealing over 10 problems because of the quality of the materials. I wish Lennar should look at the quality of the materials closely!!! Because of that it creates even more headaches for everyone. Customer service people on the phone are very rude as well. Lennar building homes look nice for a week. Lennar management team… please be mindful. This is people’s home and they are going to live there quite some time. Not only a week!!! Please please look at your work that you have done.

The purchase agreement process was the simple part in the buying process. After that everything was stressful. The home sales consultant was horrible to work with. Our home celebration walkthrough was not a celebration. Unfortunately our home was not ready to close. There was lack of quality work and the home was nothing compared to a model home. It has been 3.5 months since closing and some of the outstanding work is finally complete. The project manager is unresponsive and there is lack of communication between the sub companies and Lennar. We just purchased and moved in the end of November. We had things that we were told that they would come back right away to fix or finish and that still hasn't happened. For what we paid for the house, you would think that we would get better customer service and timely repairs. The fact that we were promised grass before we moved in and it didn't happen, very unfortunate. Everyone that I have spoken with has said they can't believe that gutters aren't a part of the home building package, which again is just sad. We are happy to be in our house but just wish that the things would just get ...
