Poor Communication, Follow up and False Promises

Be prepared for worst case scenario and having to go make repetitive inquiries on progress of your home and repairs. READ the fine print as everything comes back to what is best for Lennar not the customer.

Poor timeliness when responding to issues. Poor communication with new homebuyers. Delay in getting all issues fixed/completed. Overall, would not recommend!

During our closing day we walked in on painters touching up spots. The new home experience was completely taken away from us and nothing was done to make it more memorable. Most recently, as we started planing our basement work to finish our basement we realized that the water heater was placed just in a random spot that takes away square footage from the future bedroom. The reps told me because the house came with an unfinished basement the water heater can get placed wherever . It would be nice to have the water heater moved or be compensated for losing square footage.

Lennar home buying experience

My wife and I decided to buy a Lennar home. We decided to wait 3 months for the house to be completed. During this process we were told that everything on the inside of the house would be completed by closing. When we had our celebration day, it was far from a celebration. There were many items on the inside of the house that were not completed as promised. There seem to be very poor communication between that sales rep and construction rep. Our construction rep did not even know the proper closing date. We have now lived in our house for about 50 days and still can not get answers on when ...

Construction delays which were not communicated prior to buying the house. Very poor communication throughout the process. House built with poor workmanship standards. And response from Construction Manager was it is acceptable per Lennar standards. I didn't knew that lennar had such low standards. Not happy with at all. Even now response is very poor if I open any ticket. And for bigger issues Lennar asked me to directly contact vendors. So accountability at all. And issues were present even before I moved into this house. I can go on and on .... If lennar really care about these reviews, ...

Possibly the worst experience I have ever had. It was exhausting and heartbreaking. The sales rep was unsympathetic and gaslit me multiple times before closing. When people do not care about their jobs, it truly impacts others.

Employees or subs contractors could care less if the quality of there work. Framers we’re great though. I had pee bottles around the house from employees, valves were crooked, there is giant cracks in the ceiling, a can light fixture fell down when we had a family get together and one employee left the door open to the home when it was -10 degrees out side. I would never build with this company again. Very frustrating!

Lennar - The person who inspected each job after it's finished let most

The person who inspected each job after it's finished let most of the sloppy job go and passed it on to us. So many things were not met the specification or quality and they let it go. This is the first time I built a new house and I could not believe i will have this type of experience. Personally I don't think it's Lennar fault, it's the person who is in charge of final inspection of each job/items that let it go. If I'm in charge of inspection this house or my house I would tell the contractor to do a better job or redo the job until it's good. I don't have anything good to say about ...

Siding not finished on house. Decking done incorrectly with wrong materials. Gray hole filler used on dark brown cabinets, looks like paint spatters. Grading on lot buried construction debris such as nails, wood & metal scrap, etc. No warning when tradesmen would show up AFTER move in Surprise! I’ve always heard Lenar doesn’t have the best workmanship and I can see that for myself. I’ve complained from the realtor to the builder to the person that did the phone call check about our patio large step entrance. Hoping some easy fix in the future would prevent falls and injuries. I was told they would send someone out but no one came.

Despite assurances that the home is waterproofed, the recent rainfall has resulted in substantial pooling of water around the foundation and subsequent flooding of our basement. This has caused damage to the interior, including the carpet and other finish

Despite assurances that the home is waterproofed, the recent rainfall has resulted in substantial pooling of water around the foundation and subsequent flooding of our basement. This has caused damage to the interior, including the carpet and other finishes. The sump pump was operational; however, the volume of water penetrating the foundation itself suggests potential defects in either the foundation’s waterproofing or the structural integrity of the building.
Lennar responded:
Hi Amit, we are truly sorry about this water intrusion that you have experienced. This is definitely not something that should be occurring. We are going to be informing the appropriate team about this to assist further. -Lennar Customer Care

Terrible craftsmanship. You can see the mud on the sheet rocks through the paint because it is so thin and they only put one coat on. The wall when light hits it from an angle shows a large repair mound and tape line from Floor to ceiling. There’s holes in the subfloor on the second level under the carpet. There’s piles of something under the linoleum in the Laundry room. Apparently none of the floors are prepped before you just throw carpet or vinyl over it to cover up everything. Shingles have blown off the roof, garage was only taped and never finished with mud, in the tape job is ...

If you close in spring done expect your yard to be graded, your sprinklers to go in, or to see your sod anytime soon. I was PROMISED I was first on the list when that came. That was in April. It’s 90 degrees in June and I continue to look at a mound of dirt, weed bushes up to my chest, and ricks where my grass should be. It’s a joke. Don’t give them a dollar if you ever want service from Lennar. I avoided writing this review, but they kept asking for one. So, here we are.

It’s just been more than a month and we have raised 10+ service request already. We entered into our new home and hot water won’t work. Pipe leaked in basement. Cabinet door came off. Switch won’t work. AC stopped working and they said they need 3 weeks to fix it and punished me to suffer in high temperatures inside the home. Would never recommend lennar to anyone.

This whole experience has been horrible from poor workmanship quality to mistake after mistake. And even worse I am STILL waiting on basic things to be fixed. Lennar customer service is useless and does not care or know anything every time I call them. It takes weeks to get any type of answer about things and then when they come to fix it they break things even more. The only reason I have two complete work orders is because I called myself and advocated.

This experiencing of buying a home with Lennar, and now living in the product for a month is nothing but a huge disappointment. As a Realtor of over 18 years, who has sold to my customers a lot of Lennar products over the years, this experience of buying my own has been awful and I would never suggest to anyone to purchase a product from them. The build quality is crap compared to how they use to build 15 years ago, their service is awful, they also are cheap and try and force you to use more companies they own.
