Too many stupid mistakes

The home is a great value, with so much included. It's beautiful. But there are too many stupid construction errors — the wrong smartbox, not enough outlets in the smartbox (Cox TV and WAP are STILL a problem), wrong thermostats and plugs for the washer, promised USB ports not installed, no info on HOA procedures and more. It gets fixed (mostly) but owners waste hours dealing with what was supposed to be a turnkey experience. My third new construction and by far the most problematic.

It was impossible too work with Lennar title. Would not accommodate my requests and had to use a different title company. Lennar punished me by not paying fees that the seller would normally pay

Lennar - My issue in being a first time NEW home buyer was disappointing,

My issue in being a first time NEW home buyer was disappointing, not so much because of the home but the agent, Virginia. They screwed up on the loan docs and sent them to a different state, which meant we had to get up at the crack of dawn to make sure everything was resigned before noon for escrow to close that day. We came with 7 people and a truck from California. I followed up with Virginia around 2:00 and she told title we were very impatient. Next thing I knew it was after 5:00 pm and still not a word. Virginia finally texted me the following morning at 4:30 AM, telling me the ...

Could be better in customers benefit

Lennar service and all is great. In my opinion the upgrades should be different. Why no money back when not using tiles or carpet. Why not more freedom for upgrades for kitchen. Material use is cheap. Why not full flooring and then place kitchen island. Etc etc. should be a possibility to get discounted on kitchen and pick own kitchen and store. All is made simple for builder. But maybe I am spoiled with how things get done in the Netherlands.

Lennar responded:
Hi Nikolaos, thank you for your comments about your new home. Your feedback about the products in your home is appreciated. If you would like us to review anything for you, please send an e-mail to us at corporatecustomercare@lennar.com.

You are not allowed to make any upgrades to your new home other than flooring, kitchen cabinets and countertops. For the price that you have to pay for a new home, Lennar does not include towel holder bars in the bathrooms or any other extras, which is very disappointing.

Construction is great, the back office -- not so much

Working with the construction team was a standout experience—their professionalism and quality were excellent. Unfortunately, the home buying process fell short. The back office was slow to respond, offered poor customer service, and consistently demonstrated a lack of attention to detail.

Purchase experience was good but the quality of workmanship is not up to the Lennar standards as per my expectations. It appeared the tradesmen rushed through the job with so many abnormalities. I can see the coverup made and finishing job is not good at all. We see abnormalities in every room of the house and it feels disappointing to see so much money spent for a mediocre job.

Didn't Live Up to the Lennar Reputation

At first, everyone we interacted with seemed genuinely focused on our best interests and providing solid support, but that changed. Communication was poor, with each follow-up passing us off to someone else, making it feel like everyone was just going through the motions. During the pre-walk, several issues we raised but some were left unresolved, and we were given an ultimatum: either they address the items and risk delaying the closing, or we accept things as they were. The foreman was possibly the saving grace, addressing some of our concerns within their scope, but dealing with customer ...

Builder amazing, mortgage guy committed fraud

Our builder was amazing, and Jayden our construction contact has been so helpful every time we had any question. Meanwhile, our Lennar mortgage guy committed fraud, didn't give us closing numbers until 90 days before closing and bait and switched us by making promises about credits that he ultimately couldn't keep.

First and foremost, the majority of the individuals we dealt with at Lennar were a pleasure to work with. Lennar has their hand in every aspect of the process sales, construction, mortgage, title, insurance, etc. They tell you that having everything in-house makes for a seamless experience. And you would expect that to be the case. It very much isn’t. The left hand has absolutely no idea what the right hand is doing. In some instances, the left hand didn’t seem to know that the right hand existed. They assign you a “concierge” to be your bridge between all the different moving parts. In ...

Doors are not hung properly

I have been experiencing lots of issues with the doors at my house in addition to a drawer in the kitchen that won't close properly from the first time I opened it. This is my first time purchasing a new home. Maybe this is normal. I did contact customer services regarding these issues and they responded immediately. They put me in contact with my representative and an appointment was made by him to have someone come out to make repairs. I am hopeful that when that time comes around all repairs will be made to my satisfaction.

The building looks grand at the first impression, but once you begin to live in the house one begins to find the house lacks many details that a luxury home should consist of. In our home, most noticeable is the electrical switches and outlets, then the lighting. switches are not placed at logical places, lacking multiple switching capability, some even did not provide multiple switching. outlets are sparse, some not even present such as at a long hallway, no light in the closet, bathroom lights not suitable for makeup for the ladies of the house. poor workmanship.

As much as I dislike making a suggestion to finance with the builder, you may get better treatment from Lennar Title by doing so! Questions not answered, calls not returned, treated rude when we arrived to close per Lennar's diection. We were even asked upon arrival to close, why we were there! Who just shows up at a closing for the heck of it, especially in a pandemic? And keep in mind, Lennar had all our monies and still used their leverage to treat us rude. Lennar, you are not the only builder and definely were unknown to us in IL. We traveled cross country to buy in NV and were ...

Good: They let you tour the home once it is framed, walk you through, explain things in detail when you can see inside the walls. The sales team that answers your question is excellent, responsive, and informative. The build crews are good and they don't seem to take shortcuts. Not so Good: They mark up the flooring, and offer really crap carpeting so expect to pay another 10-20K for flooring above list so you don't have cheap carpet in living room. Don't use their title or lender, the 5K incentive is eaten up in the first 5 years with the higher interest rate they offer and they are part of ...

It’s too early to tell about the quality of the workmanship, but Paul and Alex were great. They answered and responded to questions in a timely manner. The only complaint I have is with Bruce, the new home consultant. He was more of a sleazy car salesman than someone there to actually help you through the process. I would never purchase another Lennar house if he was there.

Overall I'm grateful and pleased that Lennar worked with me to buy our family home. However the mortgage qualification process did not go well. Way too many people involved who did not talk to each other. This buyer had a huge down payment, no debts and a high credit score, After two months with still no resolution, the Buyers agent had to request that the mortgage and title managers to step in. After they stepped in, it took two days for the mortgage to be approved. Thankful for their help.

Love the house. Quality lacking

I absolutely love the house. However, the quality is lacking. You have no idea how NOT sound proof it is until you move in and hear every conversation from any room in the house. The paint I am cleaning up off the floors, showers, holes in walls, shotty paint job - all things you don’t have the chance to find during a short walk thru, from 6 feet away (if you can’t see it from 6 feet, they won’t fix it). The upgrade choices were limited. Follow up on issues up after closing has been good. Again, I do love the house there are just things I wish could have been different and better

Overall, the communication is horrible. Maybe there's a rule that "do not answer the phone" by Lennar. My sales agent has never answered the phone, and the response time for texts is at least a few days later, and no response at all sometimes. Lennar is well-known with quality builders, and people expect quality employees from Lennar. However, the level of service they are provided is very disappointing.

A very stressful buying experience - Gyorgyi the sales rep for Lennar was the reason for our stressful buying experience. Encourage new buyers to get everything in writing and not assume anything. Gyorgyi was like a used car salesperson - tells you anything you want to hear whether is right or wrong - just to make the sale. Ultimately, we are happy with our home; however, we just about walked away from buying a home from Lennar.
