We love our new home & neighborhood. However, Lennar really went the cheap route during the building process yet still charged us top dollar. Horrible flat white paint throughout the home, grade 1 air filters in the vents, bottom of the line appliances, messy touch up’s after walk through resulting in paint splatter all over new carpet and flooring…I could go on. The buying process was also overwhelming with repeat documentation required with short notice.

I really enjoyed buying my home from Lennar, everyone came together to make this deal close on time. However, my home is over 70 stucco and I have a crack on the bathroom window which is about 10 feet in the air. I submitted for this repair after 1 week and it was denied. Christine Connor from Lennar came into the home 2 months later to look at other repairs and stated that the stucco repair is not covered under warranty. I would need to buy matching paint, buy some stucco repair, and get my ladder 10 feet high so I can repair it myself or I can hire someone to repair the window of my brand ...

My adjuster was a buddy of mine. He worked with lennar to get everything going. All this emails and online paperwork was to much. Lennar should give people options to get things done in person. Random people from lennar kept sending me emails. I didn’t know who to trust. I was given no option to get things signed in person. I had to read everything I was signing and had no one tell me what I was signing. Everything felt RUSHED. I disliked buying from lennar. I’m never buying from lennar again.

Home buying experience was horrible!

From day 1 with the initial sales contract and the tons of disclosures that were not made to the crazy surprises at closing, there isn’t enough space to describe all the communication and customer service failures by sales, construction and customer service/warranty//walk throughs. There was poor follow through on issues, the defensive attitudes by really everyone, untruthful statements, and extra hidden cost were unimaginable and never experienced by us in any of the 7 previous new homes we have purchased in our 40 years in Las Vegas.

I love my new home BUT the process was not pleasant. The mortage company was not very good. I was told multiple quotes as to how much I was going to need for closing. My closing date was a nightmare, the Benito and (the other woman s name I can't remember) were not great.

Financing through Lennar was a nightmare. Buyers beware. The incompetency of the underwriters and managers was astonishing. The entire sale of our home was delayed for weeks because multiple underwriters were unable to read a ledger. It was so bad I almost purchased calculators in bulk to send to Lennar. The home is fine, and the craftsmanship is average.

Our sales person was excellent through the offer and contract process. The mortgage process was smooth and efficient. The build quality was about an 8 out of 10. There were minor finish quality issues. Made a request to the construction manager to fix an issue on 4 separate occasions. It was never resolved so I ended up taking care of it myself after we moved in. Warranty repair group was very responsive and attentive.

We used all of Lennar companies but Lennar Mortgage didn't know how to process our loan which added 18 days to the closing as they had to reach out to Freddy Mac representatives twice and ran it through underwriting multiple times because they excluded over 60% of our income and presented most of our income as outgo/costs. It was unbelievably frustrating day after day trying to get them to get it right, which they never did. Very nice when you expressed interest in a home. After offer accepted, customer service disappears all through the close of the home. No one returns phone calls. Over promise under deliver. Sales person answers her phone when either at the gym or cleaning home and cannot assist. Did not receive gate remotes until eighth day after close. Would not and will not refer Lennar Homes to anyone.

Our two primary issues with this home are poor interior design, and workmanship. I'll touch on a separate topic of builder/buyer interface at the end. For a home at this price point, certain essentials are absent such as, stacked kitchen and bathroom drawers, no place to mount towel bars, too-shallow upper kitchen cabinets, kitchen drawers that are so wide that space is wasted. All the way through the building process everyone was great but after closing I began to realize that the materials used were at the lower end of what is excepted by building code. I am constantly having issues with my breakers and live alone and don't cook much. This is the WORST house purchase I have experienced. This is a DIY loan and home purchase. There is NO personal contact - everything is done with text, email & e-docs. I was scheduled to close on Dec 9 but because the title wasn’t transferred I closed on Dec 23rd and I was not compensated for all my expenses I paid.

From Jonathan the Lennar agent, to the mortgage dept staff, the walkthroughs and sign off, and warranty - everyone was responsive, helpful and professional.
