First home purchase, with the worst home buying process with both lender and construction

Communication via lender was scares - little to none The day of closing didn’t know if I was going to close or not due to lack of communication finally 2 hours after my set closing time I got a call and they told me that they were working on it and they would let me know by 5 , 5 rolled around and still nothing. The builders pushed my closing date from , 2/28 to 2/25 at the very beginning of the loan process no big deal but they didn’t communicate that with the lender so the lender thought they had more time to work my file. Possibly the worst experience I have ever had. It was exhausting and heartbreaking. The sales rep was unsympathetic and gaslit me multiple times before closing. When people do not care about their jobs, it truly impacts others.

The workmanship was essentially non-existent. The initial walk through was embarrassing for the Lennar employee. The number of serious issues were many. A hole in the shower stall, island counter top improperly placed and crooked, windows that wouldn't open/close properly, vinyl flooring that had to be replaced, damaged appliances, sloppy trim painting etc. Some issues have been resolved after an Regional Vice President got involved. There was very little and very poor communication during the build process. Timing estimates were impossible to get to get. The initial completion date was missed by 9+ months making it hard to arrange financing, furniture and a move in schedule. Some home features were changed or deleted during the build with no discussion with the customer. Communication overall was very poor. The Lennar contacts attitude was also poor. Flooding issues

Before making my first payment my home had five separate issues with flooding from the main drain. !!!! Responsiveness was rated a 3 because someone from the corporate office did contact me regarding my issues and provided in writing timing of when all my repairs would get completed. Very unsatisfactory with the issues my wife and I had to deal with.

For a home that was over 1/2 a million dollars, the quality and craftsmanship were not there. Things never added up to what the builder was thinking from the landscaping (who puts really big trees right next to one's house and expects there not to be a problem 10 years down the road), Even the kitchen looked like someone brought in a bathroom with the subway tile backsplash in which we asked not to be put in. Craftsmanship is below par and have a lot flaws. Mentioned it to dirt walk through and took a long time to fix it. Took off many times and was stood up by concrete 4 times without a notice and I have to follow up a lot of times. Until now it’s not fixed. Been lied during building process and overlooked it . Lennar is a shady company that builds cheap houses and doesn't stand behind it's work. I have had so many issues with this home. Which have still not all been addressed. Lennar Lending is a joke and almost caused me to be homeless after they were going against Home Lending laws. Horrible experience. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.

I had an incredibly awful experience with the customer service of Lennar. The company did not work in a timely fashion for necessary community approvals, but did not disclose this until the evening prior to closing. Days with an unknown closing date followed with Lennar completely lacking in communication, concern that my household goods were already on their way from across the country, and telling me on multiple occasions that I should be calling the government agency to get the approval faster. Finnished home is nothing like the model homes, from staged lamps in living rooms with cords hidden under rugs were no outlets are provided, to trim tile in showers that isn’t put in actual homes. Overall quality is terrible, Door openings uneven, lights not centered, outlets in wrong places, internet wiring frayed in walls/connectors loose, appliances not correctly hooked up, light switches not working, yard with construction debris all over, landscaping a mess!

This is not our first new home purchase, but this was by far the worst. There is not enough room here to describe everything and I do not have all night, but I'll start by saying that we were rushed to "close" the purchase on November the 29th last year and it is today, almost 2 months later to the day that we received the key to our home after multiple attends and visits to their office from our realtor. We were and are excited about moving into the community of Ave Maria. Our purchase of the Ariaballa not so much! The quality and workmanship of this build has alot to be desired. Lennar was quick to take our money and when we notified them of the several issues it seems to have landed on deaf ears. From garage overhead doors that don't function, to missing trim, missing shower doors, several damaged and marked cabinets, and a long list of other items. Our suggestion would be to run as fast and far away from Lennar as possible!

I really have nothing good to say about the experience. Lennar is very slow to respond to issues. I would absolutely not recommend asking for any upgrades as I promise those will get screwed up too. They have already moved on to building the next phase of homes and see little urgency in helping to fix issues with their existing homes. I hope my experience is unique but I don't think it is from what I understand. Good luck if you choose a Lennar home - you'll probably need it
