Unhappy at this point

From the day I bought this home it has been a disaster. On the day I bought the home they were an hour late at the title agency and didn’t even have a room for us to close in. Then we ending up closing on a fold out table with some random guy who farted in my husbands face. Then our mailbox key didn’t work for over two weeks and then they had to rekey the mailbox. When we called our sales guy he said this has been a issue with a lot of home buyers. Why weren’t we warned before we moved in? On top of that the quality of the home is mediocre. I have lumps in my carpet, my floor creaks, the ...

So many issues. The entire process seemed rushed and unplanned. Not sure if this is how every new home buying experience is, but I would not purchase from Lennar again.

Terrible builder

I have been in my house 4 months. The dishwasher, disposal and both thermostats had to be fixed or replaced. My roof has had to be fixed as well as my gutters. I think they are terrible builders, but they have fixed the items. Just seems it would be better if they did it right the first time instead of causing all the aggravation.

Lennar responded:
Hi Karen, thank you for your comments. We are sorry for the difficulties you experienced when you moved in. If there is anything left outstanding, please send an email to us at corporatecustomercare@lennar.com so we can review it for you.

Dream home purchase became a nightmare...

Our dream home purchase was the worst purchase experience of our lives, thanks to Lennar's quite unimaginable levels of ineptitude. No commitment to quality whatsoever at any stage of construction. No apparent desire to stick to deadlines. I, the home owner, seemed to be in charge of quality control - if I didn't catch it no one did. No commitment from upper management to make things right. I pleaded for help so many times, and just failure after failure ensued. No one from management ever even called or reached out to apologize for the incompetence. That's what you get for an $850K ...

Major construction issue brought to us days before settlement was scheduled. They didn’t run electric from the house to the street! AC hadn’t been installed, no one worked on all the unfinished work on the inside for quite some time. All painting and finish work is absolutely awful. We were told much will be corrected but nothing was done. Delay after delay and if they did the work needed on the inside, it would delay settlement even further. We were told our expectations were too high and that we weren’t buying a home on Kiawah Island or Mount Pleasant (we’re in Summerville). We should have ...

Unresolved repairs and I request to be made whole

Four days before closing, I completed my first walk-through and identified several repairs that needed to be done. On the day of closing, none of those repairs had been completed. I was assured that if I signed off on the work orders, the repairs would be made promptly. To this day, many of the repairs remain unfinished. I have observed workers sitting in the office using their phones instead of completing the necessary work. This ongoing neglect has caused unnecessary stress and frustration. I am requesting that all repairs be completed immediately and that I be made whole for the ...

1. Incomplete and Substandard Work • The house was not properly painted only a primer coat was applied, which is completely unacceptable for a new home. • The shower door installed is incorrect and does not match what was agreed upon or expected. • Drywall (sheetrock) throughout the house is already cracking and separating, which indicates poor workmanship or materials. • Windows are not sealed properly, potentially leading to energy inefficiency and water damage and mold. • There are serious ventilation issues that affect air quality and comfort. • The HVAC system is deficient and ...

Lennar's motto is "Everything is included" I just got done buying 6,500 dollar gutters, and 1000 dollars worth of ceiling fans because they didn't bother putting either of those in the home. A 16 dollar light in the bedrooms would have given us light, but they wanted to save money. Pavers without polymeric sand? just set them on the ground and leave huge gaps. I don't have working street lights on the entire street I live on. The backyard is nothing but weeds with no sprinklers, the HOA is oppressive with rules you can't imagine. if you want to feel like you are living in a town house ...

Team at Lennar will not even resolve issues that were pointed out before closing. Their VP told us to take it or leave it as they are not going to repair the fixes we pointed out. Example, screws were not covered in the garage which should have been. Entry had pink all over the entrance. They do not stand up their core values - https://www.lennar.com/about/core-values

We bought a brand new house from Lennar. This is a great little house. Perfect for our lifestyle. We opted to purchase the washer and dryer with the house. Washer works fine. Dryer came missing a filter, filter frame, and a humidity sensor. If you use the dryer without a filter frame and filter, your clothes get sucked into and behind the drum. Lennar will not fix or replace the dryer. They say, it’s LG’s responsibility. We have lived here without a working dryer for almost 2 months. Lennar will not communicate or support the homeowner. My whole experience was horrible. From start to end. Even after I closed the house was gross, the construction guy did not fixed the window that I pointed out during my last walk. They took forever to do the final city inspection even after I had already closed on the house. My gas was cut off because no one informed me that the city had done the inspection several weeks after I closed even though I would call weekly and could never get answers. I will never do business with you again and if it wasn’t because my wife wanted the house in that community I would have given y’all the finger. ...

I am extremely concerned that my garage door issue has still not been fixed. The garage door came off the track, one of the wheels broke, and it damaged the wall. Your technician already visited, took photos and videos, but I have received no updates or timeline for the repair. This is a serious safety and security risk. For two weeks I have been forced to sleep with my garage door completely open, which puts my family and property in danger every single night. This situation is unacceptable.

Buying from Lennar has been one of the most frustrating experiences. They rushed the build of our home, clearly more focused on putting up houses for numbers than on quality. From day one, we were handed dead grass and trees — it looked neglected before we even moved in. When issues come up, they fight you every step of the way. Instead of standing behind their work, they make the process of getting anything fixed extremely difficult. To make matters worse, they only repair drywall cracks once, even though more appear as the house settles. Most recently spilled chemical in my yard and ...

Items on walk through list were only partially completed - for example sealing of door gaps. Tile floors throughout were spotted with glue and paint splatter and not cleaned. Wall paint is horrible - gently wiping removes existing paint. Master shower floor grout is a different color near drain and we were told it was soap scum after 2 showers. No it was not - scrubbing by us changed nothing. Pantry shelving was cut too long and not in the cradle hardware. This should not have taken weeks to remedy. I expected to move into the pantry sooner than that. But - worst of all - our lanai pavers ...

First time homebuyer and the process was horrendous, especially buying pre construction. Don’t assume that just because every single house within a giant property being constructed (think Altamira in Homestead Florida) is a beautiful shade of cream with brown and tan details, that your own pre construction place will match. The reason we decided to buy in that community was because of the elegant color scheme. Once the place was done being built and we flew back from out of state for the walkthrough, imagine our surprise when the stupid place is chicken yellow with gray stonework. Two colors ...

When shopping for the house Koral was great, she was friendly, and took her time to make sure we weren't rushed, she took us to multiple neighborhoods and houses to make sure we found what we thought was going to be the right house.
