Horrible customer service and responsiveness to fixing things

Do NOT close until you have every single detail taken care of. After you close, Lennar will disappear and your issues will go without a response for a very long period. (to be fair with Lennar, I also bought a house from them in North Texas previously, and they were very effective, courteous, and prompt in dealing with any issues. My recent experience in Orlando, FL though it's almost like this is a completely different company. Night and day...

We asked for a previously offered counter top, Granite, in our master bath. You would have thought we requested the holy grail. they acted like they "might" be able to do it during the 9 months build time but ultimately didn't get it done. I have expressed my disappointment over this issue multiple times with Lennar.......no response or follow up, they don't care. Love the home, don't like the service.

Lennar responded:
Hi Mark, thank you for sharing your comments about the granite in your master bath. We are sorry to hear about this situation. Please email us at corporatecustomercare@lennar.com if you have any additional items, so we can follow-up for you. – Lennar Customer Care

Poor workmanship

The house was sloppily put together and there were a lot of issues that took months to fix after I moved in. I had to take too many days off work to address all the issues. Grout work was sloppy, there were painting issues and issues with my ceiling. The garage cement had too many holes and looks poorly constructed. The house was also never cleaned and there was dirt all over when I moved in.

Lennar responded:
Hi Erica, thank you for sharing your comments about your home. We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you had. Please send us a message at corporatecustomercare@lennar.com with any additional feedback or outstanding items you would like for us to review. – Lennar Customer Care

Final touches aren't getting finished

I've had 4 major building issues that needed to be addressed. Furnace pipes installed incorrectly caused motor to burn out, dryer outlet was originally installed as a stove outlet and got that replaced, bur first it caught on fire, dryer vent not brought out correctly from sheetrock so my dryer wasn't able to work properly and my exterior vents were spray painted over causing my basement to overheat and water condensed on my pipes. Still lots of minor finish work that I'm hoping will get taken care of. I feel like once you sign your papers, you get abandoned if you need help afterwards.

While I do love my house, I've had several warranty issues come up that remain unresolved with no action plan. Lennar was great up until I closed on my home. Since then, it's been a struggle to get answers on when and how my issues will be fixed.

workmanship and materials used on construction are very poor, we need to talk with many guys to solve small issues in the house and it´s take a lot of time. at the end we also have problems to install our fence as lennar didn´t let the metal pins installed.

My first time homebuying experience has been harrowing. It had taken four months for my driveway and walkway to be laid, and I'm still waiting on the landscaping. I get most of the process is weather contingent, but I've seen other homes around me completed and the owner have yet to move in. It has been an inconvenience having to park on the street with limited parking. I love my home, but the process has been exhausting.

Lennar responded:

There is a lack of communication between the numerous different people you have to deal with when buying a home. They all have different assignments but it’s like they don’t communicate between each other. Some do but some don’t. You have to abide by there schedule and process when purchasing but then repairs and cleaning weren’t done by the time we closed. Some cleaning still never got done so we had to do that ourselves. The paint they use is so cheap that when you bump into a wall with a cardboard box it chips or scuffs and the whole interior of the house is covered in this paint. It’s ...

Found multiple defects that were minor but could of been corrected quickly. Do not believe when they give you promotions such as free paint or free filters that were required/promised upon move in.we were told we would get a free kinectico water filter under the kitchen sink. They stopped responding. The free gallon of paint from sherwin williams magically expired upon move in. When you do the blue tape walk all they did was rip the tape off of the defects you wanted fixed. Do not trust them when they say “yeah will will take care of that we are expecting a delivery next week”. They will ...

Low quality materials just like every other cookie cutter home, has had electrical issues and whoever does their drywall finishing must be cross eyed. Got bad information from the realtor about WiFi and school district and wasn't the friendliest person either. Other than that its a house and you get what you pay for when you purchase a basic floorplan. It is what it is.

Things discovered in walkthrough were not fixed in final walkthrough. It was dirty and there was urine in our sump pump. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I’m so exhausted and stressed with the entire experience I’m sick of talking about it and would rather not relive it.

Buying a home here has been a lesson in the difference between "sales promises" and actual workmanship. While the brochures highlight premium selections, the execution is fundamentally flawed. The most glaring issue is the rampant screw pops throughout the drywall. By definition, workmanship refers to the quality of skill and care applied to a task. When screws are overdriven, spaced improperly, or misaligned with studs, it is a textbook workmanship defect. These aren't just "settling" issues; they are failures in the installation method that should be covered under any standard one-year ...

I’ve come to realize that the overall build quality with Lennar has been very rough. As a first-time homebuyer, this experience has been extremely disappointing and, honestly, it will be my first and last Lennar home. Buying a home comes with so much excitement and sacrifice, and it’s disheartening to feel that future homeowners are not truly cared for. The work feels mediocre, and while this is my honest opinion, it gives the impression that the focus is more on volume and commodity than on the people who will actually live in these homes. I’m very disappointed, but I’ve learned from ...

I purchased very illusioned with the new house, the pretty features, the "warranty". Zero Defects was a fallacy. The "Call us anytime, send us all your questions, if you have any problem" was another lie. Nobody returns my phone calls, emails and the H.O.A. blames Lennar and Lennar blames the HOA. The Lennar loan was immediately sold off to a third party. Within a month, the house started having problems and nobody responds. The water does not come out hot, the roof and gutters are extremely noisy when it rains, the blinds are of the worst quality and some are lopsided, the carpet was ...

I have been lied to by almost everyone associated with Lennar. Starting with Lennar Mortgage to the new construction manager at the 3 final house walkthroughs. Promises made promises broken. Even the warranty process where cases are closed when parts on order take longer than Lennar likes. And another created when work scheduled and closed again when work not completed. Only to be resubmitted again and again. Who are you fooling? Not me. Lennar get your act together.
