I'm very disappointed with the workmanship. There are at least 15 items that I need to discuss with the people involved with fixing cracks, cleaning lights, moldings not painted and other things that have come up.

Lennar has long experience as a builder and their communities are fine. One thing to know about however, is that while Lennar will do a fine job of providing their own agent for the purchase, that agent works for them, not you. You will probably get better terms in the closing cost if you bring your own agent (fiduciary) with you. Another tip is to be polite to the actual salesman handling your transaction and get to know his or her assistant. The Lennar salesman will seldom, if ever, respond to your questions or email. Appliance Installation Issues

The kitchen came equipped with 4 appliances. There were installation issues with 2 of them. Our first morning in the home, we could smell gas under the cook top. We called the emergency number provided by Lennar, only to be told this was not considered an emergency. We had the gas company come out, who said the gas line had been installed improperly. After a week, the dishwasher stopped draining. We went through the procedure required by Lennar to report the issue. It took 7 days to file a claim. Our sales rep, Aaron was fantastic. He was and still is a great resource to continue to have. Our lender, Peter, through Lennar was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and made the process seamless. The woman in Lennar title, Leigh, was incredibly condescending and rude the handful of times we had to speak with her. Our home was delivered on time, but with shoddy workmanship. paint droppings on the flooring and carpeting (everywhere). It was supposed to be cleaned before closing, it was not. The carpet was filthy, garage was a mess and there was fecal matter on one of the toilets (not ours)!

We are very pleased with almost everyone who was involved in the process - from a realty and sales perspective to the construction manager to the mortgage advisor. We were less happy with the pressure apparently from management involved in the determination of our ability to afford the home. This was never actually a concern, but they became worried, and it created stress that was both unnecessary and unwanted.

Major complaint was in the lawn. Sod was placed haphazardly. Very uneven and hazardous to walk on. High spots and low spots can cause ankle twists and tripping.

Be sure to measure every room. Lennar did not provide measurements of any rooms on the floor plan and no measurements of the yard.

What initially caught my attention with Lennar is the extra details they put into the design of the home. I also enjoyed working with the staff who were very helpful and quick to respond. What I did not like is the quality of the builders work. After closing I walked into a home with dirty windows and dirty floors and paint splatters in multiple places. The outlets on some of our walls were spaced out at different heights. Also, the paint touch-ups were very visible and thankfully Lennar was quick to fix that. Build quality seems to be done as cheaply as possible. All interior items are builder grade or low end. Only one outside faucet is also example of cost cutting measures. One disappointment was the poor installation of the sod for the homes yard. Soil prep was poorly done and I have to keep removing rocks under the sod, causing it to lay unevenly. Cannot evaluate all aspects of build quality at this early date. Will see how everything holds up over time Lennar employees were friendly and helpful during the purchasing process. Projected closing and inspection dates were all met.

Ask lots of questions and keep pushing for updates. We were building from 1000 miles away and unable to see how things were going. The weekly update videos were not helpful. Get a 3rd party inspection, we found roof issues but they were handled. My kitchen island countertop was scratched when we took possession, they replaced with another scratched one, but have agreed to replace again, 3rd times a charm? The builder was nice, but I don't think there was much care/effort in the punch list items. The actual buying process and loan process was very frustrating. If we hadn't gotten closing costs covered by going with Lennar for the financing, we would have absolutely gone with another lender. We didn't have clear answers on anything throughout the process. We love our home, but the process even through closing was very scattered and unorganized.

We have now been in our home for 2 months. So glad we have a year warranty and boy have I been having to place warranty requests!
