Workmanship was much below expectations

My spouse purchased a home in the 70s and subsequently we purchased an additional 3 homes. This is by far the worst experience I have seen with this home builder. The homes built in 2013/4 in local area were a much better home. The materials used within the home I would consider substandard and/or meets the bare minimum housing requirements by law. After moving in found many things that could have made the home and builders more successful.

How many calls you need to make to get a faucet fix in your NEW house? Mr CEO please answer.

Moved into my house with a gas oven but my house was built for electric. Construction manager k ew about it during my walk and guaranteed it wld be replaced by move in day.....didn't happen. My realtor and I called every number for Lennar we could find to get the situation resolved before Christmas dinner. Took three days to finally get it. Customer service was horrible. Can't believe that happened. Manager knew about my issue and stilll went on vacation with his family k owing I had no oven. Ridiculous

Lennar is TERRIBLE. They would say anything just to get your foot in the door and the contract signed. Then they delay and delay. They even take away promised features just to get the unit “completed” quickly. They promised the Flo water shut off, then didn’t install it because “they ran out”. On the day of closing, I pointed out that my roof is missing ALL circulation vents, and they responded “oh we must have ran out” but I forced them to install it. Warranty team doesn’t want to fix anything, and are not nice. Overall experience was terrible. No communication, and terrible build quality. During our walkthrough, Christine the fat agent kept trying to deter me from pointing out faults. She kept blaming issues and missing features on “HOA wont allow us to do this and that” but other homes had those features she stated were not allowed. A bunch of misleading greedy lazy employees. I love each and every thing from Lennar either DocuSign process, construction quality, house ventilation, cabinets/storage space in all places, plug points in all place holders, garage and lights. Everything is in right place, I love it.

Everything went very well but they are taking long time to come fix when infector put green and blue taps in the house to fix it. Its been 2 months and we are still waiting for it

There were a lot of materials that were installed in my new home that weren’t properly covered up or cared for as other trades came through the home to finish other items. My brand new floors have been worked on 3+ times already and are still wrong. Paint was everywhere: on the floors, on my brand new upgraded counter tops, and all over my driveway. So many things have needed to be fixed that the first month in my new home I had a contractor visit practically every other day. It’s hard to believe I’m paying almost half a million dollars to have floors with permanent paint and glue residue all over them, not to forget that they are also not level in some areas, among other things. As a first time homebuyer, this experience was very stressful. Really not sure I’ll be doing a new build again after this. This is not to say I don’t love my new home and the awesome appliances and what not, but the overall experience with the lender and the workmanship was not satisfactory to be fully honest. Home buying experience was as bad as it gets. Delays, LACK of commutation to no communication. Closing date got pushed multiple times. Sales Rep was terrible. Only one person who interacted with us during final inspection was good and as professional you would expect when you are making biggest purchase of your life. Due to the delays in closing, my interest rate went up, spend much longer in rented apartment, could not plan for the move. Had to rent extra storage for Furnitures we brought. Due to lack of communication, I had to constantly follow-up to get some sense when the home will finally be built. ... More

The overall experience was on par with most mid-range builders. The one strange item and I wasn't told about this until we were getting ready to move in. Was that the window screens were not included. For an entire house of half screens is less than $300. It's very strange for a home that's almost $300,000 to not include the screens.

House was not clean and details with trim not great. I have a crooked window and walls that are not straight over spray paint on all the floors and windows.

Make sure you double check everything on your final walk through. Builders don’t care about craftsmanship.

The worst company to deal with I would never recommend anyone to buy from Lennar Lennar is garbage worst ones

Our sales agent lied about mortgage rate multiple times and then lied she never stated she had given us such a quote. I, the presence of my real estate agent, had repeated the quote several times back to her prior to shaking hands on the deal. She even had called a supervisor regarding our offer in front of us. She then stated it had been approved. When we had the contract a few hours later we were shocked to find the rate a point higher. When we called the mortgage agent she clarified it was to we 0.76 point higher, but still not the rate of 4.99%. No one could explain the reason for the change and we have excellent credit. Mortgage company was disorganized. Our mortgage agent and the underwriter agent efforts were redundant. Caused us nightmares with multiple requests for the same information. The names of documents and who might be able to supply them were confusing. We had to setup the two agents on a teleconference to clarify the multiple requests for the same documents. Additionally, we setup a teleconference between Fidelity and the underwriter’s agent to finally clarify that we had sent the correct documents. The underwriter kept asking for documents piecemeal over 11 week period to close. Closing was delayed because of it. We drove 50 miles to closing on the assigned date only to find out that financing was still up in the air despite being told that we were essentially approved. The mortgage agent told us it was still being processed and told us to leave the mortgage office immediately. Since we had come from Florida to complete the buying process this business added two extra days and plenty of stress to what should have been a happy process. We were just short of walking away from the deal, but we were coming back our hometown for my husband’s health. In discussions with other folks like our builder and our bank teller who helped with the cashier’s check.they both described terrible experiences with the mortgage division. Always thought Lennar made a quality home, do not think we will buy another home with them. Sorry, but we likely will advise friends and associates the same. ... More

I have to admit that the entire experience buying this home was absolutely flawless. Everyone was extremely cooperative and very punctual in assisting with my problems. I would definitely recommend all my family and friends to purchase their home through Lennar.

Our experience during the purchase process was excellent. For the most part, the pinch list process went well, however there are a few things lagging. It remains to be seen how quickly they will be resolved

Lennar did not miss a beat through every step of our home building experience. They have been quick to respond with every aspect of the buying a home beginning with sales, loan, building and now with the after care. We have been very impressed and highly recommend the Lennar building team.
