My first home buying experience was top notch.

My husband and I had a great experience with Lennar. From viewing the model homes to the escrow process, everything went smooth. It was a hassle free and quicker process than my husband and I thought. Thank you Lennar!

My LENNAR realtor Logan was wonderful, patient and knowledgeable, he was trustworthy and did not push for the sale, he gave me the facts and let me decide if this was the right home for me. From me being pre approved for my mortgage and through out the entire home buying experience, Lennar made my experience so smooth and effortless. Their mortgage team was quick and thorough and answered all my questions effectively. I recommend lennar and lennar mortgage everyday and to everyone.

The New Home Consultant had difficulty inputting information on day one. Document sent had incorrect purchase price initially. Was later informed that my carpeting color was no longer available and needed to be changed. Again, a delay in updating the color in the system due to a “glitch”. Several weeks later was informed that the exterior brick color was no longer available, and was told what my replacement would be. Was shown a few bricks on a board. No house available for me to look at in the new brick color. I formally requested the termination of my contract on 09/24. On 10/17, I wasstill waiting for the documents to sign to cancel the contact. Follow up email sent on 10/10 At which time I was told that there is an approval process and that they will send to me when ready. I do not understand the lengthy process. I wanted to cancel the contract and Lennar would keep my earnest money. This should have been simple. Lennar Title and Lennar Mortgage were not notified of my request to terminate the contract as they continue to send and request documents - so no communication between the different branches of Lennar. I would suggest updates to your system to make it more user friendly, not asking the buyer to select colors at the time of purchase since they seem to be discontinued often, better communication between the different branches of Lennar, and quicker response time to customer requests. Honest review of Lennar Homes in Charlotte, NC area: After purchasing this home for $400,000, I can confidently say the quality does not match the price. Like many homes in today’s market, the value feels heavily inflated due to the economy. What’s being sold as a $400K home honestly feels comparable to a $200K home in real quality and craftsmanship. I previously purchased homes with Pulte and D.R. Horton, and even their base models offered better materials and overall build quality than what Lennar is delivering at this price point. The finishes feel cheap, the attention to detail is lacking, and the lot sizes here in Charlotte are extremely small for what buyers are paying. For such a major investment, I expected solid construction and pride in workmanship not builder-grade everything at luxury-level prices. The house is beautiful, and well built!! My salesperson Brent was exceptional, and so helpful!! The whole process was great!! I only wish the garage was a bit bigger, but I'm very happy in choosing Lennar for building my new home.

Buying a home here has been a lesson in the difference between "sales promises" and actual workmanship. While the brochures highlight premium selections, the execution is fundamentally flawed. The most glaring issue is the rampant screw pops throughout the drywall. By definition, workmanship refers to the quality of skill and care applied to a task. When screws are overdriven, spaced improperly, or misaligned with studs, it is a textbook workmanship defect. These aren't just "settling" issues; they are failures in the installation method that should be covered under any standard one-year workmanship warranty. Unfortunately, this builder treats these structural finish failures as minor inconveniences rather than a breach of their duty to provide a defect-free product. The community conditions are equally disappointing. Living here during continued construction has been a nightmare due to: Total Lack of Cleanliness: The site is consistently littered with construction trash and debris that drifts into occupied yards. Subcontractor Conduct: There is zero courtesy from the crews. They block driveways, ignore noise ordinances, and show no respect for the families already living here. The most frustrating part is the complete lack of follow-up. From the sales office to the construction supervisors and the warranty team, communication is non-existent once you close. You are essentially ghosted the moment the keys are handed over. If you value quality control, professional site management, and a builder that actually honors their warranty obligations, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. ... More

We didn't set out to get into a new build, but fell in love with the clean, sleek designs and backyards at just the right size. Some things were disappointing (appliances and toilets on the low end of quality, walls painted with matte paint), but overall, we are very happy with our decision to purchase a Lennar Home. The buying process was easy, thanks to a dedicated team that stayed in regular contact and did not flinch at our novice questions. Purchase price felt right for what we were getting, but the cost to upgrade a blank canvas backyard was a big surprise - be prepared for that one! There so many hidden fees, then the quality of work is subpar. Water pressure, sewer backup, windows rattling, hot water issues, no stucco on parts of house, stucco braking on outside both sides.

Sales experience was good, but usually is. The quality control was lacking, the yard retains water well past 48 hrs, the water heater is insufficient for a family of 4 and needed a mixing value.

Starting with the showing, i had a great experience. The mortgage originator was awesome. But the (concierge), was awful. Never returned calls. Not even sure what her purpose was. Now to the house, day of closing I go pick up my keys. I pull up to house, and cleaner was just arriving. She pulled in and blew through the house in 10 min. House is still full of dirt over a month later. I am still getting glue off of flooring through the house. The paint they use must be water color paint because you can not wipe it down. I need to clean the walls but if i wipe it with warm water, the paint comes off. So I need to paint everywhere. There was a creak upstairs when I did the walk through. The guy who did the walk through with me promised me it would be fixed. It still creaks. The carpet it full of paint along all the edges. The shower caulking along the floor was moldy before I even moved in. I redid that. All the caulking throughout the house is cracking already. There are cracks throughout the house at all the seams. Just a very rushed house with zero care. Was it cheap? Yes. Thats about all I can say thats good. ... More

The beginning of my home-buying experience with Lennar was pleasant, but once closing dates were introduced, everything went downhill. Lennar repeatedly changed the closing date, which caused serious issues with my current landlord and created unnecessary stress. Communication throughout the process was extremely unprofessional. Calls and emails often went unanswered, and there was little accountability. The final inspection felt rushed, and I am now stuck with several issues that should never have passed inspection in a brand-new home, including a bent sink, improperly sealed countertops, and an uneven wall. These concerns were dismissed as “human error,” which is unacceptable. It was also very unprofessional that the post office informed us they had never dealt with a situation like this before. Because the builder lost the new mailbox keys, all new residents were forced to pay for mailbox locks to be rekeyed. This caused a delay in receiving mail and added unexpected costs for homeowners. The final cleaning of the home was a complete joke. Nothing was properly cleaned. Other new residents stated they saw the cleaning crew enter homes with only a broom and bucket, stay no more than 15 minutes, and then leave. I complained about this, but no one seemed to care. No apology was offered, and no additional cleaning crew was sent. The attitude was essentially, “oh well, it’s your problem now.” Additionally, the front door hinge pin was missing. I went to the showing office, where I was promised it would be left at the house — that never happened. When I later checked the model home, it was also missing a hinge pin. At that point, it felt like a joke and just another item added to the growing “human error” list. This experience has left me wondering what other issues may exist that I haven’t discovered yet. I regret not backing out of the purchase, but I trusted Lennar to honor their word and promises, which did not happen. I also regret not reading other negative reviews beforehand. The entire building process was a complete disappointment. We had a private home inspector here twice before our purchase, the workmanship, plumbing, concrete is horrific! Sub quality concrete used causing huge cracks in our garage. The sheet rocking inside home on the living room ceiling is atrocious uneven, there is 2 holes in ceiling near pot lights, there is a hole in the kitchen vinyl floor and the spackling in our master bath is cracking all the way up to the ceiling. We were told once we signed the closing paperwork all interior issues found afterwards were our problem and Lennar would not repair it to our satisfaction. ... More

My homebuying experience with Lennar was average overall, with both positives and areas that need improvement. Kayla and James were professional, supportive, and genuinely helpful throughout the process. They were responsive when contacted and did their best to assist and provide updates when possible. However, the overall experience was impacted by communication gaps, particularly around construction timelines and coordination between teams. There were delays that required me to proactively reach out to multiple contacts to get clarity, rather than receiving timely, proactive updates. This made planning difficult and added unnecessary stress, especially as timelines shifted close to closing. The quality of workmanship and materials met expectations but did not stand out, and responsiveness to issues was inconsistent depending on the department involved. While the home was ultimately delivered and the transaction completed, the process would have benefited from better transparency, clearer communication, and stronger coordination across Lennar teams. Future buyers should stay actively engaged, ask questions early, and plan for potential delays. With improved communication and consistency, the overall experience could be much stronger. ... More

I thought the paper work was a nightmare to get done.

My experiences as an investor have always been great. This time however, we were not able to conduct a virtual walk through. It would be helpful if other video options - such as, Signal or Zoom - were available to those who cannot use FaceTime.

Salesman was unhelpful and uninterested. Katie later got involved and was a gem and her help caused us to continue on with Lennar because the other salesman was unresponsive and when we finally got in touch with him, he gave us incorrect information. Once we purchased and moved in, there was a lot of poor drywall work throughout the house. Most is being addressed by Lennar. There was not any follow up to help with solar panels setup or any other setup of technologies that came with the house. There is no one reaching out to see if everything upon move in is ok. They want you to Use the app the report everything. We still have not been given an answer to what paint color is in the house. Everyone says look in the app, but when we had a Lennar rep look in the app for us, they too couldn’t find it. Not a great experience with the exception of Katie who was fantastic! ... More

I wish I had been informed from the beginning about what an FHA loan truly entails. I was under the impression that I would be able to close quickly, but the process involved significantly more steps than expected, which became cumbersome and frustrating. My advice to first-time homebuyers is to bring your own realtor. The realtor assigned to me by Lennar Hyatt was not helpful and did not provide the level of support I was led to expect. He was not present when I picked up my keys, despite stating he would be available from start to finish. I do want to acknowledge that my loan agents were excellent. They worked hard to support me throughout the process, and I truly appreciated their effort and commitment. ... More
