Mishandled paperwork

I was excited about my home purchase with Lennar, however I became locked into a solar lease contract despite signing documents to purchase the solar system from Sunnova. I have sent numerous emails and text messages trying to get the issue sorted out and no one from Lennar sales or Lennar mortgage has reached out to me with a response to hear my concerns about this very expensive oversight in my paperwork. For the price I paid for this home I am bummed out about the aftercare customer service I’ve received. If anyone from Lennar is reading this I’d hope to receive a reply. Thank you.

My sales associate Kasey was awesome and super helpful! The home itself is ok as far as workmanship goes, you can clearly see the building crews have no cares about the quality of work when building the homes.

The loan officer I worked with was great, and his assistant was a problem. Others on the mortgage team were good too. Many of the fixtures in the house are of very poor quality: toilets, faucets, etc. The stairs into the attic are a REAL PROBLEM. You have to get 10 feet up on a ladder to even reach the attic ladder, and then you have to pull so hard that falling is a real danger.

We were rushed to close when home was not finished building

A handful of items were not complete at the time builder delivered the home, including the lanai being uninstalled. We brought up the issue a week before closing and nothing was done to address our concern. We were asked to close despite the home being incomplete at the time of delivery.

Overall experience with the purchase was not that bad actually was pretty good. There was lotta issues with equipment, including air-conditioning, washer, dryer, finishes and not working lights. It took a long time to get everything fixed although the air condition was pretty fast through Bayonet Plumbing, our air condition actually broke three times in one week. We had to get a new washer and because Lennar gives pretty basic appliances. We just had to upgrade to a front loader, which I think should be no-brainer to be included in the purchase as top loaders is just the stuff from the past. ...

Home Buying Experience

Let me start with, we love our home and the neighborhood. Our buying experience was mediocre at best from the time they started building our house. Lennar was not and still is not as customer oriented as I would have expected. We felt we had to "fight" for everything we asked for. Prior to the house even getting started, we wanted to purchase the paint ourselves and have it painted, they refused. We did not want carpet, they finally accepted. On our pre-walk through, we identified so many defects in the house. The entire island had to be taken out and redone, the floors had to be ...

The positive was the on-site construction manager (Will) who was communicative and responsive. The Lennar mortgage process (Robert) was straightforward and managed the process well. Be aware that the advertised “Everything’s Included” is not accurate. Not included: basic blinds, refrigerator, washer/dryer, unfinished garage, mirror in powder room, and no irrigation system or plan for the lawn. Our community also has an unfinished wall that is grotesque and an eyesore evident to the entire town. Internet cables located in the walls are a bust and shoddily placed. Ours didn’t work and a cable ...

Fixed issues but too many issues for a brand new home

I love my new home. The sales agent was very responsive to calls and helpful when an issue came up. However the building site managers during our build were not responsive, did not stay in contact as promised, did not address issues that were brought up and promised to be fixed. This was an issue since we were buying from out of state. Finally LeRoy Pratt stepped in and immediately addressed all of our concerns. Thank God. Now we close. 1st week in our house the air conditioner breaks, the 1 st week the toilet doesn’t work, few weeks later the sprinklers are leaking all over. Most issues were ...

Owned a few Lennar homes over the years and I fell like the quality has gone down. Also the everything is included motto no longer exists. I had to put in a back yard and blinds on main level that I haven’t had to do on previous homes. Also wasn’t too happy with the games from the sales side. Thought it could have been handled better.

We bought our Lennar home recently, we did the blue tape walk through yet most of what we taped off was never taken care of. We were told that the paint on our windows would be gone as well and that we would get the extra screens we were missing which didn’t happen until recently paint still there and the screens don’t fit. We have had some issues with the way our laundry closet was set up by the builders we put in a ticket and the plumber who came out flat out said he wouldn’t take care of it even though it was their company that messed it up. We also had some flooring lift up and two kids ...

I had two significant plumbing leaks after moving in. Customer service was very responsive but it was especially inconvenient to have contractors in and out of home for over three weeks for repairs. That was in addition to basic paint/cabinet repairs to address poor workmanship. I was expecting better quality for the price.

Lennar town home buying experience.

Over all I am disappointed with the experience so far. There has been little to no communication regarding the outstanding items. Many of our neighbors are all so frustrated with the lack of progress and communication. There seems to be more emphasis on starting a home than finishing it. There is garbage all over from construction, I was picking it up but after several black trash bags a week I am done picking up after the construction crews. We (us and neighbors) are very concerned about how the area will look when and if they get it complete.

Sales person was difficult to get a hold of and the process was a bit chaotic especially at the end. Wish things were a little more customizable, like adding a walk in/stone shower, a covered back patio, different backsplash choices etc. Those options are VERY limited but for the price we got more home than with other builders. Overall happy with the home and Lennar has been responsive to a few issues that have popped up since we moved in.

We overall like Monroe Parke and our new townhouse. We had quite a few issues before moving in and after (paint was sub par with lots of missed areas). The major issue was the rain that leaked into my office. It was a pretty big deal and even now, I don't know if there's already damage done. I wish the development has more open space, park, field space. Not much outdoor space considering this is a new development and built in an open field.

Our customer service experience has been disappointing. The home was not clean when we did our walkthrough nor was it clean when we signed off although we were promised it would be. The floors were covered with dust and dirt and paint spots throughout when we moved in. We had to call our customer service rep - he never responded. After reaching out that evening and including Donnie, he responded first thing the next morning and he himself came over to inspect the situation. He then immediately sent someone over who spent over two hours removing paint spots from our floors followed by a ...

I absolutely love my tiny home! Of course there will always be issues because it’s a new build. Just a few things… 1. The fire alarms are way too high to reach even with a ladder. My father got up on a ladder and he could barely touch the one in the living room. 2. I love the lighting in the house however can’t reach them to replace the bulbs and apparently I have to rent a certain tool to take off the cover so I can replace the light bulb. 3. The grass, I have a long backyard. I only got 20 ft from the back of the house that is covered with grass. The rest of my backyard is bare with dirt ...

Overall I wouldn't recommend a Lennar community to others. You are inundated with so many different people during the buying and closing process, who knows who anyone is and why are there so many different titled people to handle this process. They don't all communicate together and it shouldn't be my job solely to keep everyone up to date, especially if I'm not receiving answers for issues. I was under the impression that I wouldn't be dealing with the same type of unexpected issues that arise when buying an already established home. We've had the electricians and plumbers out numerous times ...

Most materials and products are nice, not typical builder grade. Much of the craftsmanship is also well done. In our house the prep on the millwork was very poor, not the same as in the model homes. Many repair attempts were poorly executed. Unfortunately it is a poor representation of the rest of the house however it is highly visible and runs through the entire home. It’s a shame since our experience from start to finish was mostly very good. Rockstars were Katie in sales and James in lending. Too bad things finished up with Jennifer in cust service, she gets 2 thumbs down. We didn’t see ...

This is our second home, which was built by Lennar. We continue to have problems that have been outsourced for replacement or repair. The reports and updates we are getting reflect on Lennar as uncaring if we do not sign off on service tickets. Twice now a ticket has been closed without a completed repair. Where is the care in that?
