The buying process was smooth, Lennar was involved in every aspect of the buying process, including getting a Mortgage and the closing. From that part I am happy on how everything worked out. In regards to the house, we were told a date when we would be able to walk the property to see if everything was in good shape. They said that we could bring a home inspector so we hired one for the date Lennar told us. A few days before the inspection Lennar told us the date was postponed 1 day so our home inspector couldn't come with us as he could not accommodate that last minute change. We then ...

Jaime was great to work with during the buying process. At closing, there were many items that needed correction like painting, wrong windows, landscape issues etc. I was working with Brian, the construction manager for our home. I had to keep reaching out to get him to come check out the issues. He came multiple times to inspect the same things. Weeks would go by without follow-up. Landscape was addressed poorly weeks later. Overall, we are happy with our new home purchase, but we found many of Lennar's people operate with a lack of professionalism. They are not particularly responsive, they are often rude, and they do not hold a particularly high bar for quality.

The trim work in the house is not that good. The paint job on the interior doors is bad. Debris were painted over, there is paint splatter on the doors. Uneven brush marks trying to cover debris, that need to be sanded and repainted properly. The edges of the doors were not smoothed and are rough. The kitchen island counter top is not level. The kitchen sink has to be replaced due to being badly scratched and dented. When I did the walk through, the kitchen sink was conveniently wet, and I did not notice the scratches. The buying process and went well. There were small issues that were addressed with the home itself. Bigger issues have not been resolved and I feel I am being ignored by Lennar. A construction worker broke a sprinkler head, I told Lennar but nothing was done. Due to the busted head, my water bill was extremely high. I was told Lennar would reimburse me but needed to provide 3 bills. I did and never heard anything back. Two trees in my front yard died and the house was not 4 months old when it happened. Lennar will make you feel great upon buying your home and they’ll offer a one year warranty on any defect. Initially, Lennar will be responsive to warranty requests. However, it comes with a catch. You’ll quickly realize the warranty is offered because Lennar is aware of the poor workmanship and materials that go in to their homes. After a couple months, customer care will abandon you as they move on to other new homes. As of today, we have a dead tree and shrubs in the front yard that Lennar planted and has not addressed. Really shocked on the corners you turn to make a sell. Substandard materials and appliances that the new home owner needs to upgrade from the beginning. Concentrators don't finish the job or never come back to complete the job. I constantly have to remind supervisor of work still needing to be completed 5 months after we have taken possession of the property.

Love the new home but it was delivered incomplete. It has taken almost 4 months and a lot of nagging, requesting, demanding, etc. to get the home actually finished. For example, we had missing paint in places, doors which needed adjustment where you could see light from the outside, missing technology items which would allow the home to actually be "connected", over 40 cracked pavers, a missing backsplash, over-paint on all the metal coping in every bathroom, etc. I could go on. Be sure to have a home inspection prior to closing. Lennar as a company is not the main issues relating to the overall build. They need to oversee the sub-contracting as the quality is not there.

Our house was not move-in ready and yet we were still forced to close. There were still several outstanding issues that were not addressed on our final walkthrough. The process to close was rushed and workmanship was sloppy, there were several serious issues including a gas leak that had not been addressed until after the walkthrough even though they were caught weeks in advance. Do NOT close until you have every single detail taken care of. After you close, Lennar will disappear and your issues will go without a response for a very long period. (to be fair with Lennar, I also bought a house from them in North Texas previously, and they were very effective, courteous, and prompt in dealing with any issues. Salespeople were great. Quality of materials, cabinets, appliances, and workmanship are just ok to sub par. Had several minor issues which can be expected but the time for a response and lack of communication with customer care made resolution process very painful. After the replacement of the original customer care rep., the process went much smoother. 2.5 stars would a more accurate rating.

Every thing thru the closing was great. Sales staff couldn’t be more helpful. Construction supervisor was very helpful and competent. Once house was closed Lennar was less than responsive. I would encourage others to purchase Lennar home but would recommend that prior to closing make sure you identify problems and have them resolved prior to closing.
