Frustration and Disappointment Due to Lack of Attention in Certain Areas of Quality of Craftsmanship

The style, floor plan and woodwork in the house are very nice. However, we have significant concerns about several major unresolved quality and workmanship issues dating back to before the home completed construction that we plan to address with Lennar directly. It is our intention to schedule a meeting with Lennar management representatives as soon as possible. We would be thrilled to hear from Lennar.

The house is full of flaws and uneven or misaligned floors and walls. HVAC unit makes too much noise. Materials used are of low quality and durability. Overall, very poor workmanship.

Everything that glitters isn’t Gold

Being as though we’re a small family of 4, in our early/mid twenties, we were very excited to buy our first home! We’re on the bottom of the condos and it’s the worst! We can hear EVERY footstep from the top condo. We had to get a new garbage disposal installed two days ago (we just moved in Dec 30, 2020). We’ve noticed paint chipping on multiple walls and somewhat of a messy caulk work done in the shower. The garages are extremely small and tight. I don’t appreciate the fact that we’re not “allowed” to place the garbage and recycling bins outside. I hate the fact that neighbors complain ...

Finishing work is dissapointing, there is paint on the floors, scratches on doors and cabinets, a hole on the wood floor, nails sticking out of some doors, walls and carpets. Kitchen counters polish are rough.

Responsiveness: Not Lennar's fault but we have items outstanding for repair and due to the Covid-19 crisis Lennar is not doing any in-home repairs. Hopefully when this virus thing blows over the repairs needed will be completed. Lennar continues to build and sell houses so the number of repairs people will need continues to grow. Materials seem to be a good value relative to the price paid but workmanship could have been better. To Lennar's credit they repaired or committed to repair the things we could see.

Interior Paint and no medicine cabinets

No medicine cabinets in each bathroom is very inconvenient and will just need to be added, not good. Interior paint appears watered down or just very cheap. So thin any touch leaves a mark

With as many push backs to the move in date that we had we expected better quality. Our cement in the back and front porch are stained with paint, the paint in itself was not done well either. There are dark paint splotches from the trim all over the lighter paint on the exterior. Once moved in the interior was not very clean either. We were told we could just purchase cleaners to get stains out, if we wanted them out.

Seems the subs are very questionable. I have seen 4 homes in addition to mine that had major plumbing problems, including flooding and having to replace flooring. The plumbing contractor must be a very cheap company because the quality is not there. I worry what will happen in 1-5 years based on the issues I have seen so far. Also, landscape work has been awful and they put down dead grass and don't bother to replace it. All they care about is covering the ground. Not how it looks or fills in.

Overall House Quality is Quite Good but the Driveway is Completely Unacceptable

  • Chad W.

My review is still incomplete at this time. The quality of the driveway is completely unacceptable and is the reason for my low rating on quality of workmanship. The driveway was poured at 26 degrees on November 13th and I believe that it froze before concrete had cured to achieve a necessary strength. Overall we had a mild fall and there numerous days the concrete could have been poured at a much warmer temperature. It has numerous cracks, chips, pock marks, smears and is very off colored. No other driveway in the neighborhood has an appearance that is even close to my driveway. I ...

Vista Bella Inventory Home

My wife and I were looking for a quick move in the North East area and found an inventory home that met mostly all of our needs. In general, we are pleased with the home - there are a few areas of the home that look like they were an after thought in terms of quality of workmanship. The previous home we owned was a Ryland, and we never had issues with workmanship/cosmetic fixes. We've only been in our new home a few months and they are plenty workmanship issues that we are not happy with. For the price we paid, there shouldn't be as many small issues as we have been finding (sloppy Job with ...

Love the home but...

We love our home but the painting, caulking, grouting and finishing is done very poorly. You would expect more skilled workers to be part of a home that’s valued at over a half million dollars. We’ve been trying to get attention for it for a few months. Will hope for resolution once the COVID mania is over. The quality of fixtures (shower heads, lighting, fans) are more reflective of homes in the $400k range so Lennar has surely skimped on these things. That will be an additional project we’ll need to take on ourselves. The warranty team is great though; it’s just unfortunate how many ...

Excellent Sales, Poor Contractor Resonsiveness.

The sales representative has been great, responsive and helpful. The contractor materials were good but his QA/QC was poor. Too many punch list items and issues that are still not resolved. He continues to construct new houses and puts off punch list work 4 months after closing. I did not want to close with some of these issues outstanding but "the builder" insisted and had the upper hand based on the contract. The rating is lowered due to contractor QA/QC and responsiveness.

I purchased a new construction D. R. Horton property in June 2018. I decided to upgrade to a larger home and purchased a Lennar home in November 2019. The longer I live in the Lennar home I realized D. R. Horton is a better quality builder. The Lennar quality is just not there. The drywall is so thin you can't hang a lightweight picture without reinforcement. The wood flooring has several chips in places my family and I could not have damaged it. For example behind the toilet in the half bath. The ceiling still shows major flaws, corners of walls, not really corners have curves. The lawn is ...
