We love our home but the home buying process was arduous at best. We have now been in our home for 5 weeks and we are waiting for repairs from the initial FaceTime walk through. All of the things that were supposed to be fixed were not. I am not sure if it is a corporate issue or just the local office. We have reached out and have not been contacted back. There is clearly a disconnect from the sales to lending to closing process. We are still waiting for confirmation of funds distributed and we found out today that Lennar did not actually pay all of the 2025 hoa dues as promised (even ...
Lennar responded:
Good morning Denise, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the issues you have experienced with your home. We understand how frustrating it can be when promised fixes are not completed before closing and when issues persist even after moving in. I moved from out of state so I relied on my realtor and Lennar sales rep to assist me thru the process. There were some issues at walkthrough which were addressed by bldg mgr such as dead sod replacement before closing. I drove for 2 days to get to DE and upon arriving at the sales office to pick up my keys I was handed my keys by the sales agent. There was no welcoming feeling from her which I thought was odd. How about welcome to the community or welcome to Delaware. All she said was “I wonder when you were getting here”. Moving on, I got to the house and within 48 hrs my water was ...

Closing on the house was a stressful situation in itself. I've had several issues inside and outside of my house to include quality of craftsmanship and quality of material. My door frame has been split since before moving in but I could not see due to the builder painting over the split in the frame until recently due to opening/closing the door on a regular basis and the paint wearing off. The drainage in the yard has been an ongoing since I moved in.

I really had to advocate for my wife and myself throughout the whole process as so many balls were dropped during construction, contracting, and even turnover day. So many things had to be escalated to regional sales or regional construction members as the local folks just couldn’t close the loop on so many items. Don’t get me started on working with their financing either. I had to threaten to walk from the deal before they finally gave me final approval. They wanted to know every detail of my life, even what auto savings transfers of a few dollars were for. Really? I was literally ...

My first contact with Lennar was not good. I was supposed to meet a representative at a model house, I arrived ands she was not there. I tried to contact her and she said she was sending someone to meet me. I left since she was deceptive about the whole thing. If it were not for the Real Estate agent I used, I would not have bought a house from them. Their customer service is worse than the DMV. IF you email a question, they do not respond. You have to blast email them and everyone else involved in the process to get a response. The house is not badly constructed, they will use the cheapest ...

Fast built but works are not neat. We got crooked attachment plugs, hole in front porch, no shower seal, paints that are already coming off, creaked doors. High ceiling is a plus but still hear people upstairs stomping and moving around so loudly. Thin walls, we can hear people walking upstairs next to our unit. Sales person, loan officers, and customer service are very professionals and answer to all our questions.

The process was very stressful. No one would answer even when deadlines were coming up. It was constant pressure to sign contracts. Felt forceful. We almost didn’t go through with purchase. The house is nice but cheaply made with lots of issues. Overall a 3/5 recommendation. Still working out issues after 2 months. Overall I am happy to be in a house but the process was a 0-1 star to obtain this house.

This purchase was the worst, and I'm a real estate broker so I should have known better. I sold my home and purchased this to downsize into. Under contract first on the CH townhouse and then sold my house. I paid my buyers to close a little earlier to coincide with the promised date from Lennar. Got two pods and put all of my stuff in storage to be delivered to the townhome after closing. Forwarded my mail. Then I got notice that Lennar was going to be delayed delivering the home. I was told that I didn’t need a realtor and that the process would be easy. But has a first time home buyer, there were things that was not explain to me. Such as, when first looking at homes, I was shown 3 different floor plans. Only one floor plan was explained on what came with the home “the package”. When shown the next two home nothin was explained, so I assumed all homes came with blinds, full sod, and irrigation. Additionally, my home concierge was hard to get a hold to and didn’t respond at times with my questions. Furthermore, my loan officer was asked by me to go over fees and the ...

The overall buying process was truly terrible. The sales representative didn’t seem confident in our ability to get approved. We spoke with 2 different loan officers who provided us with different information. When we ran into miscommunication issues about our initial approval, our sales representative was ready to cancel our contact as if she didn’t want to deal with us. We had to escalate our issues to management for issues with sales team and loan team. We were asked to provide additional funds for closing which was told hours before. If we didn’t really want this home, we probably ...

This is the strangest homebuying experience I’ve ever had. Admittedly, I’ve never purchased a brand new home before, but I’ve never had so much miscommunication/misrepresentation(?) in a business deal before. While every person that I have worked with at Lennar has been nice and (seemingly) helpful, I constantly got incorrect information and made decisions based on that incorrect information. The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing - as they say. Particularly problematic were the people in the mortgage department but the issue is across-the-board. I don’t plan on ever ...

Overall, Lennar builds a decent house. However, as I’ve now learned, local workers impact the quality of the final build and buying experience a great deal. My first Lennar home was immaculate at closing. This new one was not complete, had a long list of things to finish or redo, and very dirty. Since closing Lennar has made some effort, albeit very disjointed and longer than it should be, to take of the issues. There were a number of problems in the buying process that led to delays in closing. In the three times this occurred, we were not informed until the very last minute and without ...

Going through Lennar for the mortgage got a better rate, but their people have no common sense. Totally aggravating. Closing was ok. Terrible follow up on punch list items. No call backs. Buying the home at Orange Blossom was relatively simple, but getting any kind of response or accountability after closing is a completely different issue. Punch out items remain outstanding months later & the home is full of blue tape. Damaged fittings and poorly finished features detract from the pleasure of buying this home. Never assigned a Customer Service contact point, I find dealing with Lennar frustrating & unsatisfactory.

I’m a little disappointed that the model home was sold as is. The house has definitely settled after being built and not attended to for the settling. There is nails starting to come through that was said nothing could be done. Treat the model home like a newly built home. The home had minor touch ups and was done very poorly. The garage that was redone after sale due to being the office was put up very fast and poorly. We waited 3 months for it to be finished and to see the result was very upsetting. I was honestly very surprised to see the touch ups so poorly done. The paint along the floor ...

I did not have a great experience with the sales office. There were many errors in the beginning. Also, I think some need more customer service training on how to answer questions. I was consistently told Lennar has all the control; the buyer doesn’t have a say. It’s very disheartening when you hear that over and over. The construction people were awesome!!!

The contractor and the customer warranty woman had no time to talk to me…..waited a long time for cabinet drawers……I have a tree still down from Ian & the fact that I closed in the 31st of August, but still couldn’t move until 9/16 since I was waiting for drawers which I finally came in and placed on 10/24. Then one drawer was cracked, so they had to order a new one. That was just the tip of my experience.

The sales office was below average at best. I had to constantly chase sales for status updates and information. Was supposed to close on April 1st. Finally closed on May 31st which was very inconvenient for us. It was apparent the closing was rushed and the unit was nowhere close to being ready. Bo, the construction manager, was excellent. Very responsive and helpful in getting repairs completed as promised. Overall experience was a 2 on a scale of 1-5. This is our 3rd property in BN. Had a similar experience with the first 2. Dealing with the sales person was difficult. She told us the house will have a few things and then on closing they were asking more money for the things that should be included. They did not allow us to move the data points around the house and did not allow us to add more data points in rooms where it was needed. We found the process difficult and not to our full satisfaction. We are planning on getting extra work completed after closing. Dealing with loan officer and title were such a pain. Poor performance, wanted evidence for everything just in case it won’t qualify and at the end it was all unnecessary paperwork.
