Rush job with a 4-month delay

We purchased a house from Lennar that was under construction with the promise that it would be completed in 2 months. We moved in 6 months later, after pushing hard at the end to complete the construction. We had two walk throughs and identified over 600 items that needed to be corrected. Nearly two months after moving into the house, there are dozens of items yet to be completed. The quality of materials in the house seem to be good, but the small things that we notice every day are what drove an unfavorable experience. We still have caulk missing, uneven paint, and plumbing issues that ...

Contractors are paid but they don’t finish the job.

Our new home came with a thick coat of construction dust over everything. We had rust stains on our new shower pan bottoms, all the mirrors were still covered in stickers and filthy. Cabinets had wood chips and saw dust all over inside There had to of been no move-in clean. Lots of parts of it weren’t finished yet and we had to constantly check in about the contractors coming back and finishing their work. There is barely enough paint on the walls to cover the texture. If you need to wash anything off then immediately the paint is gone. Lots of dings and scrapes and things that never were ...

Multiple delays with construction, appliances and closing. No communication with home buyer. Sales, construction, loan officers & closing don't communicate with each other. Don't respond to phone calls, texts or emails.

Outside of the project manager who took over at the very end of our build, the building experience was terrible and Lennar as a whole excused away poor quality and lack of communication as just "part of building a new home".

What should have been avery happy experience has been a frustrating and disappointing time! I'm very disappointed in Lennar and would struggle to recommend this builder! It's obvious they rushed to get our home completed and we are dealing with multiple.

I would not recommend this home buying experience! Workmanship is not good and many things have to be resolved after moving into the new home. Stressful and disappointing situation! It's obvious Lennar is putting up homes as fast as possible and not caring about the finished product. I think after all things are resolved, we are hoping to love our new home. I just wish we didn't have to go through this process. The initial walk through should be a better experience as well as the day of closing. There are ways to make this experience better.

Between the sales lady and the lennar mortgage guy we were going into this situation blind. All my mortgage conversations were held over email or after 9pm phone conversation. It's not a good way to find out closing date got moved by a 2am email and no one answers the phone the next 2 days. Sales lady didn't inform us of any progress on the home only time we heard from her was to get us set up to buy and get our 1% deposit which we didn't k ow about till the day it was due. Moving from out of state they made it very difficult.

Materials were decent for this price point, but the quality of workmanship was sloppy in many places - unfortunately common in mass-produced homes in this area. There were quite a few things I had to fix on my own after moving in. The builder, warranty team, and trade partners are very slow to respond to issues. The only issue that was addressed in a timely manner was a gas leak due to the stove not being installed properly. Even then, it was a pain to reach a customer care rep and the plumbing company rep. Sales team was friendly and knowledgeable. Lennar Title rep was unresponsive and ...

We closed on our house in September. We were told the day before that major issues still remained (appliances not delivered, etc.). We've been struggling with Lennar for months now (mid-November) to handle paint, drywall, flooring, cracked tubs, etc. They say they will fix things, and eventually they have been getting to issues one by one, but it takes forever. Everyone in the neighborhood has this same experience. Lennar does not have enough focus on the last 2% of fit and finish, and does not have enough resources focused on keeping commitments to new owners.

The construction process was very poor with poor quality observed in multiple areas. Although our construction manager was very helpful after closing, it was obvious that he had little or nominal control over the process. Quality control check points need to be established to enhance the customer experience and improve overall quality of the home

We previously build a new construction home with another builder a few years ago so we were familiar with the overall process heading in. Our Lennar sales experience was good, but when it came to the construction team it was a different story. The primary construction manager that we were assigned, house issues / items aside, was very rude and unprofessional. This was very disappointing - especially considering customers are spending $800k. The quality of the material is okay, but the craftsmanship and installation is poor and careless. Felt like we had to fight, argue, and prove a point to ...

Lack of workmanship is overwhelming. My laundry room ceiling is unfinished because they installed the AC unit before finishing the ceiling. Now I’m being told they can no longer do anything about it. Some of the numerous items on the punch list were not completed before closing and now I’m expected to oversee the completion. All that was needed was a Certificate of Completion to make us close. Our unit was in no way ready at closing and feel that Lennar took advantage of the situation.

The home I got was absolutely not ready even 4 days before the closing date, and even after closing there were a bunch of details to iron out, garage door wouldn’t open, poor paint job, huge stains on the floor. Our purchase was marred by the end of the process. The walk through (via video) was impossible because so many things had not been completed (carpet not installed, appliances not in place, cabinet hardware not installed, no shower enclosure, heating and air not operational and so on). How does the builder expect a customer to close under those conditions? They should not. The closing was driven by the builder's fiscal quarter end and not the satisfactory completion of the unit. Something is wrong when they're still painting the interior even after closing. To satisfy shareholders in the ...

Even small basic request were not considered/ denied during construction process . Inspite of saying we will bear the cost for the materials.?for example drilling a hole in the kitchen tile prior to putting up tiles. It’s not easy for us to do it now and more expensive to break things open. We paid over the asking price, I wish Lennar rep was able to consider such small request… backyard grading is pathetic . We have been left with numerous issues since the day of closing and it has been a month and a half of poor communication and constant follow up to try to get them resolved. From the poor finish work, incomplete work and lack of cleanup, it is clear that corners were cut to make the closing date set by Lennar. There were a few items that should have prevented it from even passing inspection. There were a lot of things on our warranty list that had to be completed and has not been completed yet. Some of the outside stucco work looks shabby. The yards are not designed to be wheelchair accessible. Wood chips right next to driveway is messy and you can't get get out your car without stepping on them and spreading them on the driveway. It is not a good front yard design. My husband just recently found out he may have to use a wheelchair we can't get his wheelchair out or walker on a smooth surface when he first get out the car. We all know how crazy the market is right now, but our experience wasn’t great from the sales room, to Lenner mortgage, all the way to closing. No support after closing either.. Average experience. Closed on a new construction home almost 2 months ago. Sales office wasn’t particularly great at communicating, nor was the loan officer and processor team. Lennar is building at a furious rate and likely running their staff into burnout but I am not a first time home buyer and felt better attended to in previous experiences, none with Lennar. I don’t have any glowing praise to offer. The 1 year warranty inspection will tell the true story of the build quality, which in Lindera does not have a stellar reputation thus far.
