Experience was not Great

The Builder needs to slow down and get the home’s completed with more time spent on Quality. Standard building practices like installing gutters Having a new Home With a microwave vented by a filter internally makes no sense whatsoever when it can simply vented out the wall. These are just two samples of what we now have to pay for which should be standard features. Concrete workmanship very poor. Fresh air ventilation and damper was never connected. Do it right the first time.

Struggle with home purchase

Let's begin with the post close status. Final walk 10/14, now 11/29 and no callback from site QA representative to schedule work. The overall quality of the build is good. Discovered defective heater gas control module. After given name of install company by local QA, I made the call to get the unit fixed myself. Only 17 degrees outside at the time, 58 inside. Sales agent(New Homes Consultant) Margaret does not represent the brand well. We had issues within the first two visits to begin the sales process. Chose to work with her manager, Sumer. Minimized our contact with agent as ...

Between the sales lady and the lennar mortgage guy we were going into this situation blind. All my mortgage conversations were held over email or after 9pm phone conversation. It's not a good way to find out closing date got moved by a 2am email and no one answers the phone the next 2 days. Sales lady didn't inform us of any progress on the home only time we heard from her was to get us set up to buy and get our 1% deposit which we didn't k ow about till the day it was due. Moving from out of state they made it very difficult.

Even small basic request were not considered/ denied during construction process . Inspite of saying we will bear the cost for the materials.?for example drilling a hole in the kitchen tile prior to putting up tiles. It’s not easy for us to do it now and more expensive to break things open. We paid over the asking price, I wish Lennar rep was able to consider such small request… backyard grading is pathetic . We purchased the lot so that we have enough space for kids to play. With such poor grading and water getting stuck it’s not usable at all. The original date for closing was October to ...

Average experience. Closed on a new construction home almost 2 months ago. Sales office wasn’t particularly great at communicating, nor was the loan officer and processor team. Lennar is building at a furious rate and likely running their staff into burnout but I am not a first time home buyer and felt better attended to in previous experiences, none with Lennar. I don’t have any glowing praise to offer. The 1 year warranty inspection will tell the true story of the build quality, which in Lindera does not have a stellar reputation thus far. They did hold to the closing schedule which I ...

Horrible closing experience. The construction manager didn’t even show up for the final walkthrough. We were scheduled to close at 1PM but closed on 12AM that same day. And the house has a bunch of issues that have not been addressed. Horrible organization and even worse communication.

Delays cost me hundreds of thousands $

Lennar delayed the building because of the elevator. Well that delay caused a net increase on my Mortgage interest rate of over 2 points. Which is a lot. Lennar didn’t care. Lennar also cost me another $35k by playing games at closing and tried to delay me again and cost me even more.

Big home builder with bad communication

Overall the process of booking home was smooth but after that it was a train wreck. Nobody, I mean nobody bothered to communicate when home would be completed. It was only after asking them almost once week they would reveal how long the delays are. My interest rate went up 50% during this time. What a shame. After closing, it took 6 weeks to take care of very minor issues. Things like paint touch ups took long time even though they were painting next door. I will think twice before buying from Lennar again.

Very beautiful home in a beautiful area. We had everything we needed in order on our end so there was very minimal headaches the first couple of months we waited for the home to be built. Last three weeks went completely down hill. Apparently a certain part we needed for our hood vent was not available and this prevented us from moving in, according to Lennar. From the beginning, I said I don’t care about the hood vent. Just give me the home and you can figure it out after. No can do said their sales staff, it’s impossible to close without this ”critical part” because the city with not ...

This is my 3rd new construction home and without a doubt it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I spent a fortune on airline tickets (canceled flights, last minute rebooking, lost rental car, Uber) to get to the “blue tape walk through” to find my home without: a/c, water heater, toilets, countertops, broken windows…the list goes on. I was then pushed to close the following week in the hopes that it would be finished. I will say that the house APPEARED finished, but with crappy workmanship. For example: no power to lights in the entire front part of the house, frogs in my kitchen ...

What can I say….for it being my first time buying a house, this was the worse experience ever. If I buy another home, later on, I’ll make sure it isn’t with Lennar. Try contacting them and seeing the status on everything….no response. Oh, by the way, you need 13k tomorrow for the closing. They moved the closing a week early and expect you to have the closing cost for the next day at 4 pm the day before—worse communication between buyer and seller. We had good experience from sales to closing process and then the final walk-through with the On-site Customer Care Manager. Everything was great until we had to submit a service request and dealt with a Lennar Customer Care Rep from Tampa Care center. This person became very hostile and rude when she couldn't answer my questions. Not only she yelled and accused me of yelling while I was speechless, she continued to bully me to shut me up. Very bad care services. I am very reluctant to deal with Lennar Care center now.

The things needing fixing are so basic. For example majority of the doors don't close without rubbing against the door frame. Craftsmanship is poor on the baseboard trim in many places. Paint edging where it meets the ceiling looks like I did it myself without any care.

At the end of the experience, I do love my home, but it was not easy going through the process. There were multiple mistakes made along the building process. Fixes took way longer than they should have and many of these were not performed to the standard that I would have expected for a new home. There were multiple delays during the build process - 5 weeks went by with no progress being done on the home and we closed on our home 2.5 months late. Further, when Lennar did close on the home they did so when they were not finished with the home and it has been a painful process getting things ...

To this day the houses front entrance of the house is still no painted. Part of the driveway is broken. And the other part is covered in stains. We also have to add water to the pool every couple days because the overflow system is not working properly and the water level gets too low for the cleaning systems to work. One of the sides of the kitchen cabinets is damaged. And part of the wooden trim in the kitchen is missing.

First off , this was my first home and I was very excited . I began noticing workmanship problems throughout the building process with half done work . I noted several things like literally a slanted front door install, slanted kitchen window and framing . Leaking dinning room window, hole in stairs and carpet placed over . Those are just the things that presented before closing. I have been in my home now 8 weeks and recently discovered in the building process a giant nail was stabbed into a drain line in my laundry room which leaked for 8 weeks before it showed itself . First, the villa was four months late. That's not unusual during the pandemic, but the fact that none of the people who said they were in charge were willing to lift an estimate of completion until after it had passed. And all said they were the person to go to with a question, until you went to them with a question. The house was finally completed, and we've moved in. The house appears sound, although the cheapness of amenities is evident, starting with the low-level appliances and the poorly managed cabinetry. Also, subcontractor work on the irrigation system caused an emergency call to the ...

In my experience, buying the home was not the issue, it's been the follow up. Things like purchasing the home were explained clearly and upfront. Things like follow up about who to pay for the mortgage through Lennar the first month, how to pay the HOA, and how to get the key fob for the clubhouse or even where to get my mail from have been like pulling teeth!

This was not a great home buying experience. This is our fourth new home in 25 years, and was next to the bottom in our satisfaction as customers. Our primary concerns were the very poor quality of workmanship (painting, caulking/grouting, etc...) and the almost total disregard the subcontractors had for protecting finished surfaces (LVP, carpet & countertops) as they finished detail and trim work. We spent many hours cleaning paint overspray, joint compound splatters & residue and grime after we moved in. Some places in the LVP were permanently marred by their behavior.
