I purchased a single family home a +55 Active Community and would not ever purchase from Lennar again. Attention to detail and simply doing the job right the first time is lacking. 1. There was not a model for me see so I relied on assurances from the salesperson about certain aspects of the home. The model I toured had large lanai similar size to the one on my house. The model has a hose spigot. I specifically asked the salesperson if my house would have one and was told yes. Lennar closes on properties way before they are ready. Many kitchen cabinets were damaged, drywall, painting and stucco was very sloppy, back lanai was never put on until a month after closing and half the electrical outlets don’t work.The list goes on. The repairs are being addressed fairly quickly but is a slow process as each repair is a different tradesperson. It appears to be a fairly well built home but the quality of their workmanship in their finished product is lacking.

After many years of seeing Lennar home sites throughout California, my wife and I decided to purchase one. One of the things we saw on all signs was Lennar’s “ei” everything included. My experience is nothing is included. The level of “cheap” rings thru day after day. We’ve only closed escrow less than two months and are having issues. To be fair maybe this is common for all home builders to be somewhat cheap? I would not recommend Lennar to anyone, based on our experience.

from a purchase point of view, our experance with Ricky in sales was amazing, very detailed and accomedating, however, dealing with corprate closing / title team is less then desirable and needs major attension in future with new home owners

I found it too difficult to gain attention of the sales staff at the model office. I visited the subdivision at least two times but was told to use online system to set appointment with the sales agent and was told that there was long waiting list. The house itself is in great condition now; unfortunately, our experience both before and after closing, including the overall quality/cleanliness of the house at turnover, was quite poor. This is our 2nd Lennar new home. We bought our first one in North Carolina and the quality, responsiveness to issues and workmanship was excellent. Thus, moving to Colorado we decided to go with Lennar again. Starting with our closing walk through (late by 45 minutes painting and caulking) to today, 3 months later. We, along with our realtor, did a tour of the model home and from the start we loved what we saw given it was the model home with all the bells and whistles. While I am happy with the home itself, the homebuying experience with the Lennar team was less than average. There seems to be a disconnect between all departments within the sales process; from sales to project management to concierge services and then the walkthrough team. My home still needed a few weeks of work before, but was still handed over. My recommendation is to do multiple walk throughs beforehand and not sign the pre inspection until everything is fixed. You can tell these homes were really rushed as well as closing dates. This is my 3rd new built home and 3 different builders, Lennar is at the bottom. If I could do it over again I would have been more patient and just stayed in my previous home with other than size had zero issues.

Community is great, home layout is great. Really disappointed with the cleanliness and the actual process of a home being completed at closing. It appears that the home quality does not matter as long as there is a CO. The rest we can pass off to warranty. If there were some simple checks and balances in place where someone actually went through the homes prior and completed the items. I’m a real estate agent and can say Lennar walkthru’s are by far the most difficult and I am trying to explain to my clients why their home is not actually completed but don’t worry someone will come along ...

The whole home buying experience was incredibly stressful. My agent was hardly involved, never met in person, even though she was directly in front of me, and acted as if it was a favor to me to sell me a home; not to mention the actual bidding process is a bit of a nightmare. Closing was delayed three times. There's no coordination between the closing department and the sales/construction people. There are still a couple of outstanding issues from closing 6 weeks ago. The pool heater has never worked and it's a ridiculous length of time to get service.

There had been a lot of inconveniences with my property, including the flight I made from Colombia in august because you told me that there was no option to sign in September and where I lost the money for the trip because the closing of the house was more than one month later. Every time that we have raised a question or a complaint, we have not received an answer from the Lennar team or it has been full of references about the deposit and the contract.

Outside of the project manager who took over at the very end of our build, the building experience was terrible and Lennar as a whole excused away poor quality and lack of communication as just "part of building a new home".

We closed on our house in September. We were told the day before that major issues still remained (appliances not delivered, etc.). We've been struggling with Lennar for months now (mid-November) to handle paint, drywall, flooring, cracked tubs, etc. They say they will fix things, and eventually they have been getting to issues one by one, but it takes forever. Everyone in the neighborhood has this same experience. Lennar does not have enough focus on the last 2% of fit and finish, and does not have enough resources focused on keeping commitments to new owners.

Our purchase was marred by the end of the process. The walk through (via video) was impossible because so many things had not been completed (carpet not installed, appliances not in place, cabinet hardware not installed, no shower enclosure, heating and air not operational and so on). How does the builder expect a customer to close under those conditions? They should not. The closing was driven by the builder's fiscal quarter end and not the satisfactory completion of the unit. There were a lot of things on our warranty list that had to be completed and has not been completed yet. Some of the outside stucco work looks shabby. The yards are not designed to be wheelchair accessible. Wood chips right next to driveway is messy and you can't get get out your car without stepping on them and spreading them on the driveway. It is not a good front yard design. My husband just recently found out he may have to use a wheelchair we can't get his wheelchair out or walker on a smooth surface when he first get out the car. We all know how crazy the market is right now, but our experience wasn’t great from the sales room, to Lenner mortgage, all the way to closing. No support after closing either.. We love our home, the location is perfect and pricing was decent (taking into consideration what the world is going through). Definitely feels like a “Too big of a company” where they no longer focus on service standards.
