Lennar Purchase

Never again! EVERYTHING was purchased at the lowest grade. I'm waiting to see how long things last. No upgrades available? No gutters? Not painting the garage? The cheapest landscaping? No front doorknob lock? No ceiling fans? the cheapest can lights available, 2 already burned out. No keypad for the garage door? the garage door doesn't automatically close after a period of time? There are a lot of little things that added up. Everyone that I speak with is spending money to bring their house up to a level that this area deserves. The construction manager, Daniel, did a great job. that's ...

The home is fine, the purchase process was a nightmare

The process of purchasing my home was a nightmare. Lennar is far to compartmentalized, there were something like 6 different points of contact depending on what you had a question or concern about, The salesperson was pushy and told me outright lies in attempts to expedite the process - "If you don't sign today, you risk losing the favorable interest rate" was a good one. When pressed with an answer to how much time I had to sign, he dodged the question and just moved on to other subjects. The guy came off like a sleazy used car salesman. Every one else involved in the process was pleasant ...

Half Truths

We were lead to believe that if we put a deposit down to hold the lot that when the house was actually framed we would be able to get our deposit back if we did not like the house. One week after we put the deposit down we had to pay an earnest money. If I would have seen the completed house before the earnest money, I would have had serious second thoughts. I also made it abundantly clear that I plans on paying cash, but was still hounded by Lennar Lending to go through the loan process. A total waste of time.

Lennar responded:
Good afternoon Bruce, we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear you felt you were misled. I know that the cost of homes is high these days (materials, labor, etc) but they should really hire more supervision as the trades are allowed to cut corners. And Lennar doesn’t even include medicine cabinets anymore. Linoleum, sandpaper carpet, and flat white paint are standard on an $880k home…very sad! We did NOT realize the cost to upgrade until after putting money down and we decided to move forward b/c we love the lot, location, and floor plan. I also do NOT recommend using Lennar mortgage…any incentives go to overpriced closing costs and options and they make you jump through a ...

The company was unwilling to consider issues and minor changes during construction (we would have paid for) that resulted in significant costs to us, e.g. electrical outlet locations, pipe under drive to facilitate front grass irrigation, heat pump location (next to dining room window?), no warranty on window blinds, interior wall paint colors, house entry platforms to mitigate entrance into home with disability walkers, main entrance door lacking visibility of any human form on the entry porch, no counter or cabinetry in laundry room and fireplace installation tilted about half centimeter, ...

Everything from Lennar Mortgage to closing was very Subpar at best

To Start was not happy with Lennar Mortgage, wished I had used a different company. The communication for closing was non existent. Nobody showed us anything on how to operate pool and other features like the ring camera etc. We had to hunt down our keys and garage door opener. the Sheet rock and walls were poorly done and a lot of the holes for lights and outlets were cut too big and one light above kitchen Island was buried and had to be found and cut out after. Overall communication was just not good. Talking to the neighbors they have had the exact same bad experience.

For the price range the builder is charging they did not deliver. AC unit is not large enough for house size. The materials used including light switches, carpet, windows, all millwork, shower fixtures, sink fixtures, dishwasher, stairs, toilets, garage door openers and cabinets are all mid to lower level materials, The landscaping that was used was clearly the cheapest plants and trees available. On the positive side the layout of the house is ideal and the size we were looking for. The customer service to request service during the warranty period has been fantastic. Prompt call ...

I did tell the sales agent that this would be a bad review. Seems that in order to save on the almighty dollar everything is done electronically. I insisted on a face to face with the loan officer and an in person closing. Had the face to face with the loan officer and brought all the documents for the loan. That did not work because he did not make copies of all the pages he needed. So had to send again. The concierge was supposed to keep me updated on the progress of the construction but did not. I found out by making regular trips. The house was not thoroughly cleaned when I ...

It does not seem like Lennar values repeat business and a loyal customer base. Service was awesome up until the sale happened and then it's a downhill. Even the person that did new home orientation was amazing during that meeting, said he all the great things you want to hear, and offered to be of assistance after the closing and even asked me to save his mobile phone number to provide advice down the road and so on - I contacted him five times after and crickets... Be careful with their crew and at the end of the day there's no value for words.

Let me start off by first stating that we LOVE our new home. The quality and craftsmanship of the actual house are amazing. Bryan and his crew did a great job building the house. There was very little that we found that needed to be fixed during our final walkthrough, and the final product is gorgeous. The rest of the process was an absolute disaster. Lennar Sales(Alan), Title and Mortgage (Cody and Judith) were unorganized, a pain to work with, horrible at communicating, and overall they did a terrible job, and I wouldn't wish that process on anyone. My advice? Check EVERYTHING! more than twice! We had so many issue! and although they are quick to respond, they need to have a someone who goes thru the properties with a fine tooth comb before the buying process begins! Also, if you don’t get your mortgage through Lennar, be prepared to be treated differently, you don’t get anything “extra” from them like fridge freezer/washer/dryer etc! It’s open to favoritism (I’m sure there’s a law suit in the making ) Kevin & Lizzi

We did not receive any updates until dec 2023 after we signed the property in jul 2023. A proper communication with updates would have helped us understand whats going on.. Also, the biggest blow was when some of the properties in the same community with same sqft were sold for way less price in dec 2023, while our house was not even handed over.. we felt shattered and questioned our decision of booking the house in Jul 2023.. We have also reached out with couple of questions to the agent at the lennar and never received any response after signing the property. Not customer friendly.. We ...

This is our second home bought from Lenner Homes. We expected much because of our previous experience in home buying with them. This time around, the quality fell quite a bit. The communication and coordination between the Lennar team is so bad it seems like they have not worked together at all. Everything seemed rushed including the quality of the home and the process itself. As an example, on the first home we were interested in, we filled in all requirements and was half hour away from providing the earnest money with all paper works "all good" according to Lennar finance. 1. Have it written into the sales agreement that the lawn & landscaping will be delivered in a condition that is acceptable to the buyer (modify this wording). At closing the grass was over 12 inches and Lennar refused to resolve. Likewise with the actual sod which had been laid haphazardly to such an extent that in places one could roll their ankle if they were not careful. 2. Review the HOA Agreement and gain an understanding of what rules are superseded by the CDD (Community Development District). example "Street Parking". My bad experience was with Lennar Mortgage. With proof of employment, excellent credit and a generous down payment, they were not able to past the fact that my employer would not provide proof of remote employment. It was so frustrating that I paid cash for the house just not to have to deal with them. As far as the workmanship - overall, the house is fine but there are a list of issues where they just got lazy and did not check their own work.

The overall process wasn't smooth and the negotiation part could have been better. I didn't have a lot of trust in all that process, seemed like something was all the time hidden from me. When moved I noticed a lot of things were done quickly, just to be done. Especially painting and finished. Lots of things left unfinished which aren't covered by warranty. Overall process I think could have been better. The experience of purchasing the house was terrible. The project manager was never around, wouldn't return calls and didn't even make the final walk through of the house before my closing.
