Very poor Quality and Workmanship

First did not fine Arthur trust worthy. Chris the superintendent of the Veranda condos wasn’t to interested in overseeing the initial construction and stated a few times that things would be corrected during the 1 st. Year by filling out repair work orders. I have been in the construction industry and management during my career and have never seen such poor quality . I would sure like to speak with someone as I could offer valued services to Lennar.

Lennar responded:
Good afternoon David,

Thank you for taking the time to share your homebuying experience with us. I’m sorry we fell short in your expectations with the way it was handled. I understand it is not most convenient to have things repaired, but moving forward, if there are any remaining items to be addressed, please log in to your Account and submit a request using the warranty/service request form. You will also be able to follow up on the current status of your request using your Lennar Account.

Make sure to not give lennar builder money. As a deposit is not really a deposit and is non refundable even if they say they will refund it.

Lennar responded:
Good afternoon Alfonzo,

We understand you might be frustrated with our deposit refund policy and apologize for any inconvenience it caused.

We hope you're happy settling into your new home and that your experience with us moving forward is a pleasant one.

This was the worst home buying experience I have ever had.

Compared to the model home, Lennar made several cost cutting changes, without alerting the buyer. They cut the quality of the front door, counter tops, closet in the dining area, and bathroom vanity lighting. In their rush to close before the end of the month, there were numerous repairs that needed to be made. It will take months before most of these are addressed. Their quality control is non existent, as their focus is on volume and profits. We bought this house because we liked the layout and view, and that is basically all we got.

Lennar responded:
We appreciate your review and are sorry to hear that the final product in your home fell short of your expectations. I have opened a Corporate Case with your comments and notified upper management to review and assist in addressing your complaint.

The purchasing process itself was fine. The coordination with Lennar reps was pretty terrible. Multiple reps blatantly lied about inspection results and new home orientation dates. The Lennar-run HOA is a complete nightmare.

Constant Lies and Poor Work

  • Matthew D.

Buying this house was a huge pain. The builder routinely tried to lie to me about things and used dirty tricks to try and rush me through the process. I had to fight very hard with them to resolve problems that should have 100% been their responsibility. I am still struggling with the builder to get them to repair things that they screwed up. Aside from them rushing me through getting my new home inspection, they also moved up my closing date by a month without proper notice. I was originally going to close on 03/28 (which was signed the first week of February) per the contract but had ...

The communication was horrible up and down. I am military and had to constantly ask to change my schedule because they were delayed. The flooring that is used in the house is horrible and whomever installed it did a bad job. I feel the house was a rush job. I don’t feel like the people that was involved with the paperwork were not on the same page with each other everyone lines were crashed as far as dates

The process went fairly well until closing. Gutters were suppose to be included as an option and we emphatically told the sales person doing the final contract we wanted them. We had even had a specific discussion about that when we were first looking at Lennar homes. We were assured by the sales person we could get them as an option on homes in Brunswick Plantation. He accidentally forgot to mark them off on the final options list. We were buying out of state so could not come down to see it until closing. No gutters and because it wasn't on the final option list (not our fault because the ...

Wow, where do we start? When we actually stepped into the home, it was completely different than what we anticipated. One layout we received didn’t match on the AC units. We should have 2 and they insisted that we were only supposed to have 1 unit in a 2-story 3,000-square foot home. During the walkthrough process, some items were not completed and they still expected us to sign off as if they were completed. Very shady. We’ve been here about 6 weeks and have submitted multiple service tickets. It seems like we find a new issue every day. The communication between the loan ...

Service after purchase was much better than during construction. The construction managers were absolutely terrible causing months of delays due to manager oversight on easy things. They promised us closing dates and continued to miss those dates causing us to have to delay selling Two homes and missing the height of the summer market. We then had to store our moving truck contents for 2 weeks costing us 6,000.00 in extra moving fees because they didn’t hit the closing date they assured us they would make. On a good note, we love the house and are pleased with the service the warranty ...

The building manager and sales agent was very helpful and addressed our issues. The sales manager, Debra however was rude, unprofessional and combative to the point where I refused to have a conversation with at our final walkthrough. My daughter, who also recently bought a Lennar home was with my husband and I at the walk through. My daughter asked Debra a question about the home and Debra's response to her was "Who's buying this home, you or them?" She literally told my daughter and my realtor who was there she was not discussing any concerns with them. She was so unprofessional and rude ...

Going through the loan application process was horrible. Very unfriendly to people without a realtor. Rude and not helpful or responsive to questions. Given no information on this community on how to handle utilities, HOA etc. Person doing the house walkthrough gave misinformation multiple times on how to do things. I was told by two different people that they get me a list of paint used on home, nothing. Overall it was not a good experience.

Lennar choose to use Rannai Tankless water heaters. what they also CHOOSE to do was NOT include a way to control it with out a service call. NOBODY knew anything about the heater. NOTHING. After many hours of extreme frustration over 3 days and disbelief this is actually happening, Ryan came thru after learning what to do to get it running again. This was unnecessary frustration if Lennar has spent the $155 to install a controller to the unit, so thanks for that time wasted. Heres a tip... We love the floor plan of the house, general layout an functions. We love the neighborhood too which is why we bought Lennar. Aside from those the experience was painful and exhausting. The amount of quality control I had to do on their work is unreasonable. Rarely could they provide straightforward answers and if something wasn't right they didn't have a path to escalate issues. The number one selling point for this house was the backyard. On two occasions, Brittany told us our back yard was from the neighbors fence to our left to the neighbors fence to our right. During the initial showing we asked where the side boundaries were and she said we are “lucky because our neighbors have built fences and all we need to do was tie our fence to theirs”. My wife, myself, and our realtor all heard the same thing. Of course we all ooh’d and ahh’d about the backyard. During the walk through right before closing, she reiterated the same thing, which was again, heard by my wife, ...
