Worst home buying experience

This was the worst home buying experience ever! From the beginning to the end! Lennar has gone from using decent materials to the cheapest materials they can find! The grass had to be replaced and that was a hassle to get done, the garage floor edge broke and we told nothing can be done, the landscaping is terrible. The tress were put in incorrect and they refused to fix them and now they are broken. We are being told it’s our responsibility to get them fix! They don’t even put up towel racks or toilet paper holders. I can go and on but I think you get the jist ! We definitely should of gone ...

We are two months in from when we closed and I still haven’t even received a call back from our loan officer with answers to questions I had from when we moved on! I can say the only decent experience and people were Ana and Sharon who also tried to help. Project managers were rude and things did not get done when they said they would, the financing department never returned calls and when they did they were dismissive and made you feel like you were a bother. Terrible experience with a terrible built home!

Brand new home had a broken truss that had to be repaired. Was informed that the HVAC system had been installed on the wrong side of the house, which it still is. According to the construction foreman it won’t affect the system. Hope he’s right. Inferior lumber used throughout construction. Terrible drywall prep and painting throughout entire house. Dry paint in carpet, all over floors and door hardware. LED lights in ceiling are going bad. Trim work is sloppy. Horrible Closing

The closing experience was the worst. Lennar Mtg had my initial information 5 weeks ahead of closing - they asked for multiple docs sometimes twice, they failed to forget we had an out of state signing and it took several calls and support from others outside of Lennar to get the closing completed. Lennar knew we had closed and had movers coming to deliver and they acted like it was no big deal until there was pressure and then the closing day was a mess- didn't receive my front door code until 5pm and then it didn't work. Lack of Communication is a big problem with Lennar

Sales person difficult to get in touch with. Did not return calls. Warranty issues were identified as being completed but were not. I took possession of the home and there was paint everywhere-both inside on the tile and outside on the pavers. The counters were scratched AFTER I did the walkthrough. When asking questions or for help I at times just got no answer. Also, expected the same home as the model but many things were not included. There was no discussion or information about this. Too bad for you is the attitude. I would go elsewhere.

We are not first time home buyers and we did our due diligence to make sure we were pursuing the best possible purchase available to us, but Lennar made the experience so horrible that we will never purchase another property through them again. Our understanding is that the laws in Florida allow for unethical, shady business practices by builders, where the sales and mortgage teams essentially lie and overpromise to the buyer to quickly lock in the sale and then once the truth of the details are established there is no option to cancel the contract and get the escrow funds back. Continuing Problems with Air Conditioner

Today is probably not a good day for me to review Lennar. It is a very hot day and my air conditioning unit is not working. I tried calling Hadley Heating and Air - they have told me I have a one year warranty on my air conditioning unit. I called them at 5:52 p.m. this evening. I was told a technician would call back and talk me through possible solutions. It is currently 7:24 p.m. and I haven't received a phone call back from them. I absolutely love my home but there is absolutely no communication. Everyone was so friendly until we signed the closing papers. We were told from EVERYONE if you need anything even after closing reach out and we will take care of you. The project manager John is horrible. Extremely rude and acts bothered if you ask him something. Called him about a roof problem on our home that was a month old and was told “Well it passed inspection so whatever”. As a real estate investor, I am a 5x Lennar home investor. 4 of them are in FL. This 5th home at Glen Pine is the worst closing experience I have ever had. I will not buy another home from Lennar in FL anymore. The main issues are poor workmanship at and missing house keys. My closing was delayed 4 weeks because of these and other issues. Lennar's motto is "Everything's Included" yes... but... Things that are NOT included: Washer/Dryer, Door/drawer pulls for cabinets, fence, back yard, more than one bare thin coat of paint. During initial conversations we were told that there were closeout specials and that we could make an offer and things would be accepted, this was far from true. During the loan processes we were told that 4% was available, this was also far from true. There were a lot of places where it felt like Lennar made promises that they had no intention of keeping and it very much soured me to the experience. ...

The day before closing I showed up for final inspection to be told the house was not ready and I should have been contacted by sales. No one could tell me when it would be ready. Then I was told I would definitely close by the 29th. I closed on the 20th, 3 weeks later. We encountered poor communication all the way around during the closing process. The closing coordinator scheduled a “walk-through”, and scheduled it for the wrong time/date. We arrived as told to, and there was no-one there. The follow up was absolutely horrid. The home was NOT ready to close. Extremely rude and arrogant management

I tried to change my closing date because my bank CD was maturing three weeks after the tentative closing date. I have purchased 3 Lennar houses before and never had any closing date issues and after purchasing this house it was an investment of almost $1000000.00 on Lennar houses. The answer I received from upper management was discourteous: “We DON'T move dates!” you should not talk to your loyal customers in this tone (extremely unprofessional).

Sales team are pathetic and from our perspective and the experience we went through they seem to be racist and biased. First we confirmed a home with specific direction for a price, but next day it was allocated for another person saying the other buyer paid them high price. They did not give a chance for us to bid and see the result. Again we had to wait for another home but with a compromise of direction and location as we wanted a home in the community due to friends.
