Home is great but customer Service and communication terrible

We have shared with some of the top people how aweful the communication process was and hope they take it to heart for the Orlando area. I’m sure this will never be posted so I’m not wasting my time to go through yet again how many issues and terrible the loan process to closing communications turned out to be. We understand delays if they are communicated but Were treated like we had no right to find out what was going on with our house. To understand the last straw, after our last walk through and are pulling into the the title company to sign, Brenda calls to ask why we are not closing to ...

Not the most pleasant homebuying experience since this was my first home. Lennar needs to strongly improve their customer service, hire quality contractors to repair the home correctly the first time, and become more transparent with the homeowner about buying a house through Lennar.

My agent told me that my work vehicle would be okay to park in the neighborhood, but a week or two after moving in, the Hoa President stated that it was not allowed. Now we’re in a big financial bind to either find another place to live and move or to find a place to move my truck and end up paying a monthly rent for that. It was a terrible lie that got us in this place.

Lennar responded:
Good morning Michael, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re sorry to hear about the frustration this situation has caused.

If there are any outstanding warrantable issues with your home, please email us at CorporateCustomerCare@Lennar.com so we can ensure they’re directed to the appropriate team for follow-up.

My experience was not the best. There were Docusigs almost weekly. There seemed to be very little communication between the loan officer and the underwriter so I was asked to provide information more than once. There were delays that I still don’t understand. I waited in the attorneys office to close for twelve hours . I was given te wrong keys to my home. There was no information about the community. It was a mess!

Lennar responded:
Good morning Twavenia, and thank you for your review. Unprofessional construction manager

Construction team led by Dave was negligible. None of my initial concerns during the home inspection were addressed, so a second home inspection had to be held with the manager Oscar and they fixed all issues the second time. However before the manager assisted, Dave became very rude and irate for his own failures and had to be removed from the process. When I buy a new house, I expect it to look new. However there were countless blemishes and cracks that Dave was more upset I noticed than he was for the lack of quality work from HIS team and lack of inspection from himself. The company ...

At the end of the day you are buying a home not a customer experience, but the customer experience was very poor on the sales side and has gone significantly downhill since the last time we purchased a Lennar Home. Missed meetings, lots of changing of staff, surprises on walkthrough day of “oh sales never mentioned that wasn’t included” etc. Overall what is being sold is a great value for a home and I hold that Lennar has great floor plans, but I hope they are able to better shape a positive interaction with its customers in the future in general and in this community, and stay a bit more ...

I will highly advise any new buyer to get their own finance, Lennar finance department is a joke!! We almost walked towards the end because they couldn’t get on the same page between their own company! Building department is ok, I definitely suggest visiting your property during construction as much possible! We bought from out of town and I wish I would’ve been able to walk the property at least biweekly, could’ve save a lot of headaches and problems I now have to deal with, bad tile cuts and grout, lots of drywall issues and a lot of trim not finished properly among other things!

Horrible buying experience

The Lennar representative lied to us about the amenities being included in the HOA price in SQ. After trying to use the pool, we found out that it was not included and required membership to the country club. This would have been nice to know at the beginning of the home buying process, as the amenities were one reason for buying in the SQ community. Repairs were still being done one hour before closing because they weren't completed when they were supposed to be. The home walkthrough was done one week prior. After closing, we picked up our keys and went to the house. The keys didn't ...

Dishonest sales practices

When we first met RJ, the sales rep, in November, he told us that the prices had been reduced considerably because Lennar needed to sell all of their inventory by the end of December 2023, in order to be able to build new homes in Franklinton. He lead me to believe that the prices would go back up in the new year and that these prices were almost “too good to be true.” This caused “the fear of missing out” within me, so I was compelled to sell my home on Opendoor (the only way Lennar accepts contingencies), for a $30-40K loss. That would have been fine if the Lennar homes truly had been cut ...

Disappointing is an understatement when it comes to our homebuying experience. Only employees we had a positive experience with are Leah who sold us the house and has been great. And crystal who did our walk through and has helped us get a number of items fixed. Where do i start? Judy who works in Title was completely clueless that we were even buying a house. She didn’t send our final numbers for closing our wire instructions until midnight, the evening before closing. We closed online. That process was seamless. We were not told where or how to pick up house keys for our new home. ...

I decided to give new home buying a shot. I’ve purchased four primary homes in the last 10 years so yes I do have some experience. However new home buying with Lennar has been nothing but painful. I think their intents were right but the execution was horrible. First off, each dept doesn’t care about their peers so they just push accountability around. Second, the loan dept was the worst I’ve used ever. Didn’t really have a choice as their deal was the best for rate. But be prepared for some stupidity and lack of common sense from the underwriter to doc processing. Sales rep did his best but ...

Buying a lennar home is not for the weak, loan officer's are terrible, unknowledgable, Unorganized and truly do not have the customers interest in mind. That goes all the way to management, my l9an officer kept putting blame on others and not fixing anything such as my disclosures being incorrect multiple times and him saying that it didn't matter only the final one matters. Then a manager took over my loan, and he was rude and disrespectful, stuff sent incorrect disclosures, and then chose to tell me I was "high maintenance" because I had to reach out to him everytime something was sent to ...

My experience with purchasing this home has been nothing but frustrating. Their communication amongst the different departments need a lot of work. Be very diligent with who you work with,. Their underwriting department has “dropped the ball” and seems to be very disorganized. I Have been in my home for almost two months but have not been able to enjoy it because there are constant issues almost every week. Most of the issues could have been taken care of if I had the opportunity to do a walkthrough before closing (which I was told would happen) - instead my walkthrough and closing were on ...

Never meet sales associate, never had the immensities explain to me, was never told how to acquire the amenities. now at the closing the notary spent more time with me than Lennar’sl closing agent. The notary had no answers for any of my questions. When lennar’s closing agent finally arrived she could not answer questions that I had , probably into a bigger hurry to go to lunch. Now the house well prepared but lacked attention to the small details therefore I rate the house a 3.5 out a 5

Sadly, our experience with Lennar was not a good one. We have purchased many homes over the years, including a few new builds. The issues: 1. Late. The home was "completed" over 3 months late. 2. Forced to close. Lennar forced us to close on our house on a certain date (5/31) to meet their quarterly figures. They even told me the same. Even after we told them we do not want to close as the house wasn't finished and the punchlist (if you can call it that) was extensive, they closed the transaction anyway. 3. No Cert. of Occupancy. They closed the home before getting the COO. While it did come ...

Me and my friends are great fan of Lennar! But by buying experience was terrible!! I completely understand that pandemic has changed everyone's lives but shouldn't have impacted the buying experience. The sales team was rude, mortgage team was impatient and construction manager was contactless! Just that we need a house to stay close to friends, we have continued with the purchase if not would have quit.

Our closing process with Lennar was highly unsatisfactory. The representative, Diana, displayed unhelpful and defensive behavior, particularly when questioned about inconsistencies in the final numbers, including a missing wire transfer. Furthermore, an agreement was made regarding the use of buyer funds for non-recurring expenses, which Diana contradicted by stating Lennar's historical policy of not covering such costs even though it was agreed to be paid we had to pay the cost.
