The salesperson, Alex, was outstanding and was attentive to our needs within his authority/control. However we were very dissatisfied with the workmanship (paint, carpentry, landscaping (unlevel, dead grass, irrigation system heads sticking up too high, etc)). The tubs are basically useless because they are way too short for an average height adult (taller than 4 feet). Great square footage and amenities for the dollar but the workmanship needs improvements.
Lennar responded:
Good morning, and thank you for sharing your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration you’ve faced with your new home. We also appreciate your positive feedback for Alex. 1. The first day I moved in-no hot water, 2. Second week, price sediment in shower to find out main sewer line was not draining- house was not up to code 3. Nick was great on getting things fixed on his end, everyone else was terrible, especially Brooke the virtual consultant 4. Loose shingles on roof. ALL OF ThIS & the inconvenience I lived with for two weeks because of the sewer made buying from Lennar a nightmare.
Lennar responded:
Thank you Lisa for bringing this to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced with your new home. The loan approval process was awful. Kept asking for same documents over and over again and approved my loan at 7 pm the day before closing. Moved our closing date a week ahead and had many issues in the house from the carpet to the paint. The worst one being no internet service. Been almost 2 months and we still don’t have home wifi.

You need to hold you sales person feet to the fire the will tell you anything to get the sale. Including just fill the application in briefly don’t save yourself a headache fill it out completely!!! And be ready for sales pressure. And they don’t stop showing your house once you give them the deposit they continue showing your home until right before the cleaning for closing. Make sure you take pictures of the items noted in walkthrough as they won’t fix them all.

I was initially drawn to the design of the home. The design and the actual house is ok but the entire process was bad. The entire process was transactional and it was not at all efficient. I never felt like a valued home buyer. Support was lacking and at times several departments from Lennar does not seem to know what is happening. I have heard this same experience from others that actually bought my old home instead of a new home from Lennar. Customer Service is definitely below average.

This was one of the worst homebuying processes I have had to go through, I feel the employees are incompetent in some departments and making big mistakes with numbers that caused me to change my loan type at the last minute, change my move in date, change my mortgage payment, and it was just an overall bad experience.

Multiple issues upon moving including massive unfinished hole in pantry wall in which ants swarmed the kitchen less than a week upon moving in. Leaks in sinks. Problems with scheduling people to come out for repairs. The people that have come for repairs have been polite and overall helpful, however, in a new home these issues are disappointing. These are on top of the lack of communication from sellers and mortgage and issues that my realtor has never seen. And losing home insurance because Lennar never paid the first prior to selling installment.

The process of buying the home was not a smooth purchase at all. Our Lennar rep put us in a bind even though we had brought up the issues in advance. The construction crew left a mess on the exterior so I was having to pick up paneling boards and other materials that were left behind. I wear braces on both legs so struggled to bend over to pick up heavy paneling. They did not level out the top soil before putting the sod down and we had asked for this. We were told a cleaning crew would clean the interior but on the day we finally got our keys, the house was still dirty. Paint and glue stains ...

Horrible Closing

The closing experience was the worst. Lennar Mtg had my initial information 5 weeks ahead of closing - they asked for multiple docs sometimes twice, they failed to forget we had an out of state signing and it took several calls and support from others outside of Lennar to get the closing completed. Lennar knew we had closed and had movers coming to deliver and they acted like it was no big deal until there was pressure and then the closing day was a mess- didn't receive my front door code until 5pm and then it didn't work. Today is probably not a good day for me to review Lennar. It is a very hot day and my air conditioning unit is not working. I tried calling Hadley Heating and Air - they have told me I have a one year warranty on my air conditioning unit. I called them at 5:52 p.m. this evening. I was told a technician would call back and talk me through possible solutions. It is currently 7:24 p.m. and I haven't received a phone call back from them. I absolutely love my home but there is absolutely no communication. Everyone was so friendly until we signed the closing papers. We were told from EVERYONE if you need anything even after closing reach out and we will take care of you. The project manager John is horrible. Extremely rude and acts bothered if you ask him something. Called him about a roof problem on our home that was a month old and was told “Well it passed inspection so whatever”. From the very start I had issues with the loan officer not being proactive and responding to messages in a timely manner. The day of closing my name was not spelled correctly in the title/documents. I have been in the home and there is something going on with the plumbing where the toilet does not flush properly. There were also missed parts that were not painted by the time I closed on home. Avoid this place like the plague. The only smooth thing about the buying process was dealing with the finance/mortage department (the people who take your money. Go figure.) It is also usually a dump as they don’t make the contractors clean up after themselves. It was pretty bad before enough residents complained to force their hand. This developer has been a headache from the start. I started the initial paperwork on Thursday 01/18/24 around roughly 9pm. My walkthrough was then scheduled for Friday 01/26. From the beginning, the Lennar Sales team was not responsive to initial inquiries we submitted for home we were interested in. Most of the experience was good with the exception of the closing process. They close of the house was delayed by a month or later. We were charged a rate extension fee through Lenar mtg and were told that this would be credited back and it never was. My friend/real estate agent owned and sold many Lennar homes, so we had a first hand view into the process going into it. From start to finish communication was very poor and even worse within the Lennar team. Each individual we worked with was pretty good, but collectively it was a total mess.
