We are not first time home buyers and we did our due diligence to make sure we were pursuing the best possible purchase available to us, but Lennar made the experience so horrible that we will never purchase another property through them again. Our understanding is that the laws in Florida allow for unethical, shady business practices by builders, where the sales and mortgage teams essentially lie and overpromise to the buyer to quickly lock in the sale and then once the truth of the details are established there is no option to cancel the contract and get the escrow funds back. The day before closing I showed up for final inspection to be told the house was not ready and I should have been contacted by sales. No one could tell me when it would be ready. Then I was told I would definitely close by the 29th. I closed on the 20th, 3 weeks later. Delays happen but it is clear they knew there would be a delay long before they notified me, 24 hours before closing. This house was not ready for occupancy. Still dealing several issues. Lennar construction is the sloppiest workmanship we’ve ever encountered. We expected more for the money.

Would never buy a home from Lennar again

When we were touring the homes, it was fine. But once we actually decided to pull the trigger, the experience was downhill from there. Typos in contracts, long wait times for a response to our questions, no response at all from Lennar mortgage loan officer (they tried to bait and switch us but luckily we had an outside lender lined up just in case this happened), and then the home wasn’t even completed by our walkthrough date. And this is just for starters. After closing, we’ve had a roof leak, broken refrigerator, and have noticed shoddy workmanship throughout the home. Definitely not ...

The original house we got on contract for was not the house that was built. No drawers in any of the bathrooms, and not the kitchen cabinets that were in the home that we were told we were buying. We were not told about certain credit requirements for the interest rates until after we were under contract. Love the area, but from the start had a bad experience with Lennar. First, we asked for a different sales consultant which they provide a different one but the first was still involved with paperwork. Second, tried to screw me out of an interest rate lock which was already accepted. Builders did a poor job with material and not following design as they had to rebuild my island on move in day with it being to far over. Terrible workmanship and material, horrible sales experience

They cut corners on everything. Material, especially doors are incredibly cheap. The new house even looks like it's been lived in by other people for months. It's was dirty with lots of scratches when we took possession. We have all the photographs for evidence. The salespeople were tricky, sneaky, unwilling to help, and don't return calls most of the time. About the only tiny bright spot are the warranty/Lennar Care people who help address issues with the house. And there were tons of issues, probably more than 2 dozens. Will try to avoid Lennar in the future at all costs.

Big Mistake!

This is our first Lennar home. Very disappointed! Garage door not working after purchase, took two weeks for someone to come out! Lousy customer service. They are nice before closing, afterwards, zero customer service. Run, don't walk away from this builder! Cheap appliances, cheap paint used on walls, We moved from AZ where the builder actually cared about their customers. Very disappointed and let down by this builder. Would NEVER buy another Lennar home or recommend to anyone.

My sales associate was not very knowledgeable abt the questions I had and he was easily offended. The lender scrutinized our accounts and disqualified the money we had to bring to closing. The house's workmanship and materials seems well built but lacking some very important features that leave a big impression like no sprinkler system, no garage door opener, no covered back porch, no fans in any room, dining area too small for a dining table, living room too narrow, and grass is dying. Our plan is to sell as soon as possible and get into something better suited for our family.

We purchased our home a few months back and the process seemed like it was never going to end. Our sales agent Devonte did nothing besides open up the house for us to view and collect his commission, the process of getting approved was so murky that we never felt confident during any point in the process that we were going to end up with the home. From Agent in the Palm River neighborhood that told us so many things that weren't true or factual in anyway ( Like the Ring Camera that we specifically asked about multi times). LIED ABOUT THE FLOORING

There's a lot of little issues with the house, mostly cosmetic. The dishwasher door doesn't close it's scraping the top of the counter. There's a lot of shotty work. The door frames are about an inch from the floor so they just filled it in with caulk. The grout is like sand and it just dusts away when you clean, it it just comes out from in between the tiles.. several broke in half quarter round pieces that they just fixed it with caulk, one door frame is even made with two separate pieces of wood that they just poorly patched but my biggest problem is the fact that this house has laminate ...

Zero communication. Lack of care in blue tape walkthroughs, unprofessional staff (ESPECIALLY at the Lennar regional level), shoddy craftsmanship. I can especially observe this watching all of the other houses get built around me in Guadalupe Heights in Seguin. Trash getting blown all around, builders trying to steal packages off my front porch, dirt and debris in the road. I will always tell people to avoid Lennar at all costs. Cutting corners should be Lennar’s slogan.

Home buying process felt rushed, our realtor also stated we would receive 2 ceiling fans which were never given. Was told we needed to sign a contract that very same day or else the interest rate and pricing of the home would increase the following day. We asked our agent to go through the contract with us prior to signing and he refused due to him being busy. Brio, the home final walk-through, I made them aware of some issues of the flooring of the house and some other details. The day came of the final war. True they weren’t take care of the person in charge told me they were gonna take care of the same day came back after closing they were not taken care of it, plus I believe it was my underwriter. Wait until the last minute to actually start working on my lawn we were supposed to sign on in the morning didn’t sign into 809 at night time then the title company was sending my personal information.
