I had terrible experience, one of the sales representative was very rude and never speak politely with customers. Multiple home owners mentioned this, not sure if Lennar really want their team to rude with their customers. I am well aware of home buying process and a home owner and helped some of my friends as well with the process. There were multiple issues identified in the walkthrough and they have not written down any of those and forced me to close the house without resolving any of the issues. I reached out to sales/construction manager multiple times to resolve the issues, no response at all. I even opened a support ticket with customer care, its been almost 2 weeks mo action was done and I really dont have hope as well. Will wait for few more weeks and share my experience with all my family/friends/ community people in the area as I don’t want others to suffer this. ... More

I thought people were unfriendly and at times dishonest. They submitted a form with a forged signature to the title company. The buying process was very rigid and not flexible. You are better off buying from a private property then dealing with lennar

Of course you don’t want last names.. everyone would give the same negative review for the same pitiful construction manager Aaron. There’s not point going on about my experience with Lennar, no one above cares to fix their problems. I just hope EVERYONE I share my experience with turns away from Lennar and saves themselves the headaches! Listen to your friends when they tell you stay away from a Lennar home!!!

Not sure how this company can clear any letter of occupancy. The house is still incomplete. They FORCE you to close before the home is complete so they can hit their end of the quarter quota.

I’ve bought three homes so far in my life and this was absolutely the worst experience. We were out of town buyers not able to walk the home in person. Lennar’s website advertised all of these features like being able to heat and cool your home from your phone, the house would come with “Everything Included” which meant a refrigerator, washer, dryer, and a security system. When my father did the final walkthrough of the house he informed us that none of this was included. When I sent the advertisement to Lennar, everyone up and down their chain of command knew that they messed up, but didn’t want to fork over the $10k or so it would’ve cost to make it right. They kept stating that I was getting what was in my contract. The contract didn’t clarify whether any of that was included or not. Their advertising was clear as day saying it was included for this community specifically. After battling back and forth with nearly everyone in their company, they ended up changing their website so none of those features were shown as included. Somehow they think I was wrong, even though they had to change their website? It’s insane. As a veteran, they treated me like trash. This situation cost me so much money and I was extremely disheartened. I would’ve gone to another home builder in the area with the exact same features, but at a lower price, if I would’ve known what I know now. Lennar has been taking advantage of their false advertising since this community opened. Now that we’ve moved in, they let debris from their construction flow through the streets without a care. They have dead grass on all of their homes for sale making our community look like trash. Then they wonder why they can’t sell them. There’s simply a lack of integrity throughout the company and the almighty dollar is what matters the most to them. Values mean nothing to these people. Horrible, unorganized, RUDE, sloppy, poor craftmenshio

Started off with a leak before closing and it’s been 2 months after we closed and it’s still not fully rectified. It takes numerous follow ups on our part to get anything moving. The warranty team has been the only competent people during this process and I do thank Stephanie and Shaun. Neighbors next door smoke detector goes off at least once a week for hours showcasing the material in the homes isn’t great quality. HOA is impossible to get ahold of and annoyed when you do reach out with questions. Homes seem rushed and once it’s thrown together it’s pretty obvious the areas they just completely missed or completed incorrectly. ... More

Once you “close” the sale (i.e. have your money), they seem to forget all about you. We have a growing list of items requiring attention. Upgrades purchased and not delivered. Poor finish work and no craftsman to complete. Sinks that don’t hold water. Non-parallel walls (shower curtain rod fits at lower level, does NOT fit at higher level). Doorbell mount falling away from the stucco wall. Chipped shower door, discovered at move-in still not replaced (two months later). The list continues…

Initially I was very excited to build my new home with Lennar. That changed rather quickly. My closing was delayed over 6 months. When issues were discovered during the final walk through I was threatened with a daily fine if I did not close. There are items on the punch list that have still not been addressed almost 2 months after closing. I have contacted multiple people by phone and email and there is still no timeline on when the issues will be resolved. Overall I am very disappointed with the process and I will never recommend anyone buy a Lennar home.

We should have never have gone to settlement for the house The house was not ready to be moved in no electric to the central air unit. No cable for the TV countless mistakes and flaws like buying a used car all promises and then you have to fight for everything. I’m disappointed.

Multiple Service Request. Electrical, Irrigation Leak, Plumbing Leak that flooded the complete home. Newest Service Requests are Roofing Caps browned off and Mortar joint missing the Mortar. Only been here six weeks and have been living thru warranty repairs the whole time. Finish paint and caulk is very bad. Three different doors that need adjusting or weather stripping.

They lied and mislead us from day one. They have been totally unresponsive to issues and refer everything to thr Warranty then drag it out hoping you will give up. During the build they do not provide options even if you have signed the agreement to purchase. Cut cornors and finishes are a cheap ad possible especially appliances and cabinets. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!

The houses were rushed to be finished just to get people in and on my street alone four out of five houses have had major repair work done, and they're brand new less than two months and a half.

Purchased two townhomes in Lakewood Ranch. (Lorraine Lakes) Sales Rep for Lennar was completely unprofessional in his approach. Craftsmanship and customer services has gone by the wayside. Their a production builder and apparently hire anybody.

Dear Reed, you contacted me shortly after I completed the purchase of my new home. I expressed to you that I was very displeased with the workmanship in different areas of my new house as you and I briefly discussed. You referred me to Scott and said Scott would contact me to address these issues. Scott did come out to my house to see the issues of poor workmanship with the painting, window installation and carpet in the master bedroom and he said they would get fixed. Scott sends the job Superintendent Kyle out to address the issues (which were discussed on my walk thru). To no avail, I am still having issues with the wood trim paint and painted walls. One party tells me things will be repaired/fixed the other tells me the opposite or both Scott and Kyle say repairs/replacement will be done then when asked of the status, they both denied what was told to me. Several occasions my Sister has been here and heard/witnessed what was said and they still deny. What ever happened to customer service where the customer is always right, especially when there is a witnessing party? I understand Breland Homes was the original builder then Lennar took over the development and at one time my home (Lot 44) was used as a staging/storage place. I saw it when it was and there was a lot of construction traffic coming in and out of this house. I am very familiar with Lennar in California being I relocated from California and the standard of workmanship is there is so much higher. Unless, I ask myself, is this an isolated incident? I am very dissatisfied because I bought a brand NEW home, not a fixer upper. I am sorry but until the issues with my new home have been fixed and completed, I cannot and will not recommend Lennar to a new home buyer. ... More

A constant battle from start to finish with things broken after the fact. Terrible customer service. Lies from the entire team. Rude sales men. With the experience I had I would never recommend a lenar home to my friends or family. My first home buying experience was ruined by y’all’s team with the exception of two people. Terrible & very shameful

We signed in Dec with the expectation to have the keys by March. Went to the lender and got rate locks with a buffer built in so even if Lennar delays by a month to April, we will be covered. March moved to April and then to May with absolutely no reason provided, except finger pointing - the sales manager will point to construction manager, who will point to vendors who wont be around to answer why its getting delayed. Thats fine, we extended the lock and took us multiple request to get that covered by Lennar and that happened at the end and Lennar made it look like they were doing us a favor to cover that cost, though they were delaying. The final delay was the only one that had a reason and that was because someone came in and flooded the kitchen 2 weeks before ready to close! This all paled in comparison when the time to close came with Lennar Title. We have bought 2 homes in the past and by far this was the worst experience. We sent a mail 2 weeks before closing asking if we are ready. No response. During the last week of closing had to call, escalate to get any response from Title. They had scheduled closing with no property survey report until the previous night. Did not have the courtesy to notify us or the lender. The lender was freaking out that they were not getting any response from Title about the survey report. Even while signing the document I had to point out the differences in the numbers. Overall no accountability and absolutely no integrity in the whole home buying process. I am surprised Lennar is in business and considered a top builder, with this level of abysmal customer service. Its been just a month since we moved in so will reserve judgement on the quality of the house, fingers crossed its not even half bad as the buying experience. Of all the people we have interacted with so far, only our warranty manager, Brent, seems to be very competent and is responsive and feels trustworthy. ... More

I'm a 3rd time Lennar Home Buyer and a Licensed Real Estate Agent. And this was the worst experience ever. Terrible construction quality, cheap choice of material and workmanship, unacceptable warranty service. The walkthrough coordinators lied on my face at every stage, instead of fixing the issues identified during the first walkthrough, they simply took the markers off and signed the final walkthrough on my behalf in my absence!!!! I can't even say how many dry wall and paint issues. They left all the issues unaddressed and on the day of the closing they knowingly didn't say a word when ask if the home was ready to close. Not just that, they never cleaned the home, or power washed the garage as promised. Apart from this, the Master Shower is a mess, it is so small that my arms are hitting the wall or shower door while taking shower, as it was not built as per the design specifications and now when I raised a warranty ticket, they do not want to give any documentation in writing!!! I'm sorry to say, Lennar has become the worst Builder - Utterly dissatisfied and gutted. ... More

From being promised the wrong interest rate to having the closing date moved (not to mention several times) on the day of because of negligence from a laborer on sight. I would not recommend working with this specific San Antonio branch. The communication within Lennar was clearly poor and made the experience excruciating.

Horrible experience. Would never consider buying a Lennar home again

The buyer process was so many people involved, had to do too much coordination on my own. Too many different portals to do things in. Poor construction and was told “you can only call in 1-year warranty items all at once, only one time”. Never have heard that in any of my previous home buying experience. So, essentially, there is actually no warranty, if that’s the case. Can’t get a hold of the sales manager, she won’t return my calls conveniently AFTER I closed on the home. Hmmm…. Plus, on the warranty paperwork they ask you to sign after some work is done, there’s NO PLACE for notes - why would that be?? I’m not signing something that releases you of the fact that the tree you hit during the plumbing dig up could still die, and that would be on the builder to replace. It feels very…. “icky” and that Lennar is not interested in doing very honest business. I am in the industry as well, working for a direct competitor. I have shared with almost every executive in my organization how awful this process has been. Also, friends and family. Staff was 30 minutes late to walk through. Rude to me during walk through. Did THREE walk throughs for paint issues and they still never fixed many of the horrible looking spots on walls and baseboards. My $601,000 home looks like an absolute joke! Not to mention, I did not have a working oven for the first month of living here. Also, they were not prepared with paperwork and therefor made me wait at the attorneys office on my closing day for several hours. I would not recommend Lennar to my worst enemy.

I bought a beautiful townhome on the water in south Tampa. Lennar promised a luxury experience, and the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. That was two years ago. Delay after delay after delay, finally we started the closing process. The build quality was terrible, and they were doing their best to minimize our concerns and rush the closing. They would just decide when our closing was, with no regard to our schedules. My “homebuyer consultant” Sonia was increasingly difficult to contact as closing approached. She lied about multiple things, and ultimately disappeared. Pretty certain their agenda was to get us to request our deposit back and move on. Nonetheless we pushed through and closed, only to find countless quality issues that one should never expect to find in a home of this price. The building manager Dan has been evasive and aloof, and even when he gets things done they are done poorly and incorrectly. So now I’m going through the warranty process to address all these issues, and it is a constant fight to get anything done. Long story short, Lennar has been a nightmare. The townhome is nowhere near the level of quality and luxury we expected for the price, and I’m one second away from filing a lawsuit. Overall, not what I expected. Sadly, Lennar was once a decent home builder, not any longer. Lennar are now all about the bottom line and keeping shareholders happy - a production builder! I owned a Lennar home in Wellington, Florida and Colorado. Both were decent homes. This home has been pulled apart within the first month of closing. The drywall removed to correct simple issues. Ones that the superintendent should have addressed during construction. I love the layout of the home but the level of workmanship leaves much to be desired. After one month of living in the home and trying to unpack, whilst dealing with drywall dust, I gave up for a few days. Drywaller’s, trim carpenter, painter all coming and going. Still a long list of ‘warranty’ issues EXCEPT these are not warranty issues. These are problems from before closing. I found a 4 page QA sheet that specified due to be rectified by 19 April! Did not happen. So now, I have to deal with a long list of items that the superintendent did not address before closing. The yard is being torn out today! The sod was installed and not watered sufficiently and I was told to give it time! When you have a couple of watermelon plants in your yard and one has a watermelon growing, you know there is an issue! The sod was installed on 17 April and looked good. Downhill from there. The sod company are professional but like homeowners have to deal with, they have to stay within the Lennar ‘boundaries’! The closing was planned for 26 April, then pushed back and then brought forward again. I lived in Colorado and had all of my belongings on a moving truck in storage. I had to keep changing the date with the company. I moved to Florida and closed on 5 May (whilst I had paid for 4 hotel stays beforehand) and then had to rent an Airbnb for 10 days as Lennar had messed me around so much. The truck was scheduled to arrive 20th May and I ended up moving into home on 15th May and sleeping on a mattress with camping chairs. I asked if Lennar could, at least, comp me for a couple hotel nights - crickets! Push, push, push to close and at one point I was ready to walk away from the $59k deposit! I was beyond frustrated. What should have been a new start in my life, has turned out to be a nightmare situation. Lennar do not work uniformly with all of the trades and the homeowner suffers. Customer service should be pivotal in this experience and sadly it is not! A homeowner should not feel like they are ‘one’ against ‘all’, yet that is my experience. I have been GC on two home remodels - one was a 7,700 sq ft home that took 11 months. I know true workmanship. I am experienced and know what is acceptable and what is not. What happened to you Lennar? What did you decide that quantity overcame quality? I would not buy a Lennar home again and wish I had bought an existing home and not a new build. ... More
