Wouldn't Buy Lennar Home Again

The homes are built as fast as they can with little care for quality work and it shows. They don't care about working with the buyers and threaten to charge them if the closing date has to be moved because we couldn't make the NHO even though they knew we couldn't make from the beginning. The flooring was put in and it is all wavy and covered in glue and has to be ripped out and redone. We showed up the day we closed and there was trash all over the place and after a month of requesting it get cleaned up I was told no one was going to clean it up so I had to clean it up. The construction ...

I knew that Lennar had problems because all builders do, but I didn't realize how bad it is. These lower rated reviews never get seen on the site. I checked. The only reason I gave two stars was because at least the "construction manger" gave me an online tour before purchase. Since then, it's been one problem after another- flooding, cupboards falling down, tile issues, electrical issues. dead palm tree,, half painted woodwork. just total crappy workmanship all around. Then, when a "warranty order" is submitted, it's one excuse after another. "It's cosmetic- we don't cover ...

Disappointing

We do enjoy our house but the hassle and problems we have had in just the first weeks alone are worrisome. To start from the very beginning we never heard from our mortgage loan officer. We reached out multiple times and never heard anything until the day of our closing. He sent us an email only to say our mortgage lender was changing. We did our blue tape walk through a week before our closing date. They completely disregarded everything that was blue taped. When we went to our new home orientation the day we closed there was still blue tape everywhere. Mud on the carpet, cracked ...

Lennar responded:
Good morning Allyson, We are sorry to hear about the lack of communication from your mortgage loan officer and the issues you encountered during your blue tape walkthrough and new home orientation. Regarding the leaks in your basement and kitchen, we apologize for the oversight and the delay in getting these issues resolved. We appreciate your patience and are glad to hear that Scott was responsive and had a team out to fix the kitchen leak. If there are still outstanding items remaining to be addressed please send us a list of items to LennarNews@Lennar.com referencing this review so we can follow up on them. Issues not solved. Horrible quality issues with the build.

Issues began the first day we moved in. Within the month we’ve lived here we have had a major water leak. Slow response times to fix the issue. The items we discussed in the walkthrough were not fixed and our move in day was awful because of it. We are even considering legal action at this point because the leak was brought up in the inspection and lennar breached its contract by lying to us and telling us it was fixed and addressed when it clearly wasn’t. Do not recommend this company to anyone and this seems to be a similar issue with our neighbors. Really disappointed wish we could take it ...

Highly disappointing

My experience has being unbelievably horrifying. And that’s saying the least. 2nd day moving into the house, a major leak started from a less than par poor job done on the upstairs bathroom. Leak went into the kitchen. Then it went down from there, from broken leading faucet, landscape mishap, broken things everywhere. Just a disappointing experience that’s distasteful.

Lennar responded:
Thank you Andrea for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are sorry to hear you are highly disappointed with the experience. I have shared your feedback with upper management for them to review and assist.

Have cut cost on so many fronts.

  • Vijayakumar K.

Lennar has cut costs on so many fronts, as cheap as failing to give garage door opener keypad. Windows Sil, cap/trim for half wall, opener for third car garage, window in the stair area, cover for patio, retaining wall for slopy backyard, soft close for the kitchen cabinet doors & drawers are all missing. The quality of workmanship & materials is very poor. Response to issues takes months!

Lennar responded:
Good morning Mr. Vijayakumar,

We appreciate you taking the time to write this review. We understand your disappointment that the home's specifications didn't meet your expectations. Build Quality is a 2/10, and that’s being generous. They cut corners and use the cheapest options available. Communication is often short and their staff will not give you a concrete answer about any issues. The contractors leave out a lot of trash, food, and building materials, and when it blows into your yard or property area, they do not care and do not clean it up. The sod/grass they gave our entire community was dead upon arrival and it took them over a month to deliver it when it was supposed to be delivered 5-12 days after closing. Our home was not cleaned prior to our arrival; it had ...

Can’t believe Lennar would want me to reiterate the nightmare of an experience home buying at Willow Springs has been. Fraudulent actions on so many levels, and a home that has had numerous issues within the first week of moving in. Non responsive customer service department. Love the location, but absolutely shocked at the multitude of issues upon move in, and the fact that they are still unresolved six weeks later!

The first steps were great, signing contract and going through loan approval. The absolute worst part is walk through and closing. Lennar did a preliminary walkthrough with us and promised everything (and there was a lot) would be done by Final Walkthrough. Fun fact - final walk is scheduled 30 mins before closing. Needless to say, on closing/final walk day hardly anything was done. We were told by our Foreman Chris that it would ALL be done by the time we close. It was not …. We had paint all over our floors, a light switch was buried in the wall, paint all over our windows and ...

I was assured that all would be takes care of. BUT the. Solar is on the roof waiting to be installed. I think that the quality of the home is not there ... The home buying process was a nightmare from having a processor who had been only been working for 2 weeks in his position to a lender who had only been working in hers for a month. Closing day I still didn’t know my closing costs, I’ve now been in my home a month. I’ve run into SEVERAL issues from a faulty breaker box, to a improperly installed garage door just to name a few. I’ve put in SEVERAL repair requests and not one of the items have been completed. The communication is horrible, if you need anything repaired be prepared to pay for it out of pocket because you will be completely ...

The worst home purchase I’ve ever had(2 previous). Went to walk through and there were numerous issues with the home. Was told that if I don’t close once they received the certificate of occupancy I would lose my deposit. It been almost 2 months since I’ve closed and there is still incomplete work. Too much back and forth with their subs.

The whole experience has been Terrible! We were supposed to close in August. Finally closed January 17th with a five page punch list. Now March and still trying to get things resolved. Lots of empty promises. Quality of workmanship is horrible. Nobody takes pride in their work and Lennar accepts that. We expected a not more from Lennar when building a $472,000 home. I have been waiting for them to fix things for over a month now. My yard continues to flood they left a tree up in the back yard that is touching my house we paid for a premium lot and did not receive that. We are unable to even use our backyard due to the water rhe back yard retains. I am not gonna eat these cost for a 400k plus home. The home was rushed and there were many issues not tended to. We're previously owned a Lennar home in Southern California. Pride was very apparent in the quality and workmanship provided in our Southern California home. However, here in Fayetteville, Georgia we're very disappointed regarding the workmanship in the home. Every time I think about the cost of the high cost of home and the cheap paint, the sloppy unfinished sealing in the molding, the visible cracks in the corners and cracks in the crown molding; as well as the floating tiles in the floor which crackle when you step on them makes me sick to my stomach. We've purchased 5 new homes in our ...
