We went with Lennar because we had a great experience in purchasing our last home in SCAL. It was the exact opposite in NV. Yes I get it, we had a rough state of affairs in the country in the past 2 years but the builder should not sacrifice the quality of homes that they produce. Finished product was very disappointing. Felt that Lennar was just interested in making money, build as many homes as fast as they can, sacrificing the quality of homes they’re building. From financing, to getting house keys to customer care was just a bad experience for us.

Lennar was NOT flexible and at times rude regarding reasonable requests. Lennar consistently switched positioned on construction issues that had been discussed and presumed resolved. We would recommend perspective Buyers avoid Lennar at this time. We would be happy to discuss our experiences.

We have had problems from day 1. Some to be expected, some not. Immediately upon move in, we found foundation issues, painting that needed to be done, light fixtures that fell out of the ceiling, broken air vent that shouldn't have been installed, broken dishwasher, new cabinetry cracked, broken tiles, shower doors with no weather stripping, front door you can see right outside, not installed properly, garage double door bending in half, missing parts/hardware. If you want a Brand new house that you have to fix, buy a Lennar Home. Outside of the lack of craftsmanship throughout the home and garage, there was very little oversight on the contractors during the building process. We would be told that certain things were being done on the home and then find out that nothing had been worked on in weeks. Our home sat for 12 weeks during the inspection process and was failing inspection due to the issues that were there from the initial inspection. We had a great experience with Lennar up until the end. But 2 days before close they sent us an updated survey showing that 60% of our lot was unusable due to easements and buffers. It turns out that had been planned prior to us ever going under contract but was never disclosed. They essentially backed us into closing by waiting until we’d already sold our other home to tell us this. They didn’t sod half of our yard and left construction debris in it. Unfortunately, we had experience what a lot of our other neighbours also experienced. Lennar project was delayed by over a month and there was no clear answer about why and when it will be ready. We were all left up on the air until 10-12 days before closing. We’re phase 1 of this new construction and there are so many essential things (heater in the winter and water heater to start with) were defective when the home was delivered and there are so many outstanding issues still remaining. Lennar turned what should have a been pleasant experience into a nightmare! If I had known then what I know now about the Lennar process and the agonizing efforts to get things fixed, I would never have bought a Lennar home in this community. I hate this home. I will never recommend a Lennar home going forward. I was strong armed into closing when I should not have. This house is still being repaired from the original punch list. The flooring in my house was a complete catastrophic failure. Everything else was done well. The build suffered a great deal from having the flooring installed so terribly. There’s nothing that can be done to fix the issue other than rip it all out and put new flooring in correctly. It’s pretty sad. Now I have to have someone come rip it all out and do it correctly.

First home purchase, with the worst home buying process with both lender and construction

Possibly the worst experience I have ever had. It was exhausting and heartbreaking. The sales rep was unsympathetic and gaslit me multiple times before closing. When people do not care about their jobs, it truly impacts others.

The workmanship was essentially non-existent. The initial walk through was embarrassing for the Lennar employee. The number of serious issues were many. There was very little and very poor communication during the build process. Timing estimates were impossible to get to get. The initial completion date was missed by 9+ months making it hard to arrange financing, furniture and a move in schedule. Some home features were changed or deleted during the build with no discussion with the customer. Communication overall was very poor. The Lennar contacts attitude was also poor.
