Worst customer service all around

Sure Lennar builds homes in highly desirable areas and their pricing is competitive. However, I've had the absolute worst experience from day 1 to closing with nearly all of Lennar's representatives. I strongly recommend if you decide to buy a Lennar home to use your own real estate agent, even if you have to pay him/her since Lennar does not offer buyer commission in sought after communities. Also hire a general inspector prior to final walkthrough. I was bullied, pushed around, belittled by the Lennar representatives who knew they had the upper hand because so many people like myself wanted ...

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Lennar

My experience with Lennar has been far from pleasant. I scheduled a home orientation and traveled out of state specifically for it. Upon arriving, I found out the orientation had been canceled without any notification. The property was in complete disarray, and the lack of communication was appalling. The orientation was rescheduled, but the issues persisted. It was clear that unqualified workers had been used, resulting in numerous problems: The refrigerator could not open without hitting the countertop, risking damage to the door. Light switches were wired improperly, with some ...

Our experience with Lennar was unnecessarily stressful and filled with avoidable complications. Fortunately, my wife is a Realtor, with her father as her broker, and their efforts were critical in salvaging this deal. Without their intervention, it likely would have fallen apart due to Lennar’s lack of competence and misleading assurances. As buyers on a work visa, we didn’t meet Lennar’s criteria for an FHA loan, but we were happy to proceed with a conventional mortgage. Despite agreeing on this upfront, the underwriting process dragged on far longer than necessary, well past the “quick ...

I purchased a new Lennar home and used Lennar finance/closing company. During the process I was required to register 3 seperate portals; building, finance and closing. During the process I recieved over 200 emails from Lennar employees. I have purchased several homes in the past and have never experienced this lack of communication/confusion that I did between Lennar employees. There is no reason company of this size can not streamline their process and make it more simplistic for the customer. I would never use Lennar finance/closing company again.

Lennar provides one of the lowest price-per-square-foot homes in our area. That is the best part of our home buying experience with them. I advise you to carefully read the contract before signing it. Lennar Mortgage was unprofessional in many ways during our buying process. They leaked our private information to other parties. The mortgage agent was unorganized and falsely accused us of withholding financial information. Make sure you carefully inspect the home during the final walk-throughs. Our "fix-it" list, which was to be completed before the final walk-through, was unfinished and ...

The unit would be more valuable and flexible if it had 2 feet more width and depth. The garage is too small for the average car. Doors to narrow for multiple passing and closing without interference of some kind. Doors to narrow 28" throughout. 4-5 doors would have been better as Sliding doors.

I am licensed real estate agent, and this purchase is the worst experience I experienced in over 30 plus years in the business. I worked with Lennar previously and things did go smooth, but not this time. Things that went wrong : 1) I had a contingency to be respected. But it was ignored in the contract 2) house completion date that I was told was moved forward by 3 months which was not convenient at the time 3) steering toward “ Preffered lender”, which at first failed to communicate properly. We went with Lennar because we got more bang for our buck. However, it came with a price. Read below. The sales guy was our first interaction with Lennar. He was very condescending and not very responsive most times. He always seized the opportunity to say something condescending. Often times when he felt that he was repeating himself he would say "I said" or "like I said" or "I already told." He rubbed me the wrong way the entire time. The loan approval process was awful. Kept asking for same documents over and over again and approved my loan at 7 pm the day before closing. This company is the most unprofessional company I’ve ever dealt with. I never spoke to a real person the whole process, and every time I had a question it would never get answered. Also, when I purchased the house, the house was robbed, and I was told that this was the first time it ever happened in this area but the funny thing is I spoke to people who also bought a house in the area three months ago and they told me that this happened to five different homes. Al door to basement is to small should have been a 36in door so you can get things down there it’s a 36in stairwell. So we lose 1/3 of our house because doorway to small. Lennar has absolutely no control, whatsoever, over their subs who eat food and leave food scraps on the floor, ketchup on the new woodwork, and the paint sub dragged their muddy boots all over the brand new carpet at the most critical time just days before closing.
