Worst experience ever with home buying, would never recommend

Truly the most nightmare experience ever. Just 1.5 months in, I need more fingers just to count the amount of problems I’ve encountered with this house and the whole process. I truthfully regret ever buying this house, and would not recommend Lennar to anyone ever.

We bought a brand new house from Lennar. This is a great little house. Perfect for our lifestyle. We opted to purchase the washer and dryer with the house. Washer works fine. Dryer came missing a filter, filter frame, and a humidity sensor. If you use the dryer without a filter frame and filter, your clothes get sucked into and behind the drum. Lennar will not fix or replace the dryer. They say, it’s LG’s responsibility. We have lived here without a working dryer for almost 2 months. Lennar will not communicate or support the homeowner. My whole experience was horrible. From start to end. Even after I closed the house was gross, the construction guy did not fixed the window that I pointed out during my last walk. They took forever to do the final city inspection even after I had already closed on the house. My gas was cut off because no one informed me that the city had done the inspection several weeks after I closed even though I would call weekly and could never get answers. I will never do business with you again and if it wasn’t because my wife wanted the house in that community I would have given y’all the finger. ...

I am extremely concerned that my garage door issue has still not been fixed. The garage door came off the track, one of the wheels broke, and it damaged the wall. Your technician already visited, took photos and videos, but I have received no updates or timeline for the repair. This is a serious safety and security risk. For two weeks I have been forced to sleep with my garage door completely open, which puts my family and property in danger every single night. This situation is unacceptable.

Buying from Lennar has been one of the most frustrating experiences. They rushed the build of our home, clearly more focused on putting up houses for numbers than on quality. From day one, we were handed dead grass and trees — it looked neglected before we even moved in. When issues come up, they fight you every step of the way. Instead of standing behind their work, they make the process of getting anything fixed extremely difficult. Items on walk through list were only partially completed - for example sealing of door gaps. Tile floors throughout were spotted with glue and paint splatter and not cleaned. Wall paint is horrible - gently wiping removes existing paint. Master shower floor grout is a different color near drain and we were told it was soap scum after 2 showers. No it was not - scrubbing by us changed nothing. Pantry shelving was cut too long and not in the cradle hardware. This should not have taken weeks to remedy. First time homebuyer and the process was horrendous, especially buying pre construction. Don’t assume that just because every single house within a giant property being constructed (think Altamira in Homestead Florida) is a beautiful shade of cream with brown and tan details, that your own pre construction place will match. Lennar emphasizes that Sod is not covered under warranty. Understandable! However, what they don’t tell you is they will come and tear your yard up (digging and whatnot) and won’t even notify the home owner. What they won’t tell you is that they’ll replace all the damage done by construction at the lowest priority I’ve even experienced. We were told our oven was brand new (we found a scratch on it before signing and told them we wanted it replaced). They covered the scratch so we didn’t know it was the same one and shipped us a new door AFTER WE SIGNED so it wasn’t covered under warranty ...

Everything went great until they messed up my mortgage and dinged my credit

Everything went great during the home buying process. I have two mortgages with them. One was for the main mortgage and the second was for down payment assistance. Both mortgages were supposed to be transferred to the servicing company at the same time. However, they screwed up on the first mortgage which delayed sending it over to the servicing company. For my first month's payment, I had to pay the first mortgage with Lennar and the second mortgage with the new servicing company. Lennar now says I didn't make the payment for the second mortage. Lennar has been a very disappointing experience. Their communication is terrible, the seller, lender, and processors don’t work together as a team. Instead of being on the same page, they go back and forth, pass the blame, and create unnecessary delays. The loan officer was not professional or nice to deal with, and overall customer service has been poor. On top of that, the workmanship of the house is not impressive. Robyn was the only great and helpful person in the entire process who response to calls. As it stand I don’t even know who to call to activate my solar panels and paying close to $500 for electricity bill. I hope I get a better experience.

Worst new home buying experience ever

There were things wrong prior to and after closing on 6/10/25, not to mention taking weeks to get the CCRs because they weren't included in closing, and another week for Exhibit A that included my lot. So many of the issues stemmed from the home being on a corner and ALL services with the city, utilities, post office, etc. was the side road of the house instead of the legal address at the front of the house. I had a letter returned to me stating invalid address when set to my house and it took over a month to get ATT and move other utilities to my name. Lennar originally put the wrong numbers ...

Our experience with sales team was horrible (worst than used car salesmen). They use bait and switch tactics. I was sold a house which they said had 2731 sq. ft. house and upon closing we found out that house was 44 sq. ft. smaller. They claim that measurement can vary from house to house. I would not recommend buying a house at all. I would prefer to go with other builders such as Toll Brothers.

Very disappointed with AC issues

Very disappointed and huge loss because the builder delivered a home without a functioning AC. Our tenant moved in but found AC was acting funny during the hot summer in sacramental area, and it took three trips and several weeks to seemingly solving the problem. The tenant had to stay in hotels and there is no cost recovery for the owner's cost. So much pain!!! I wish no one can experience the nightmare that we had.
