Sales and closing process mostly great, new home content less so.

Laura F. in the sales department was great, with frequent communications and helpfulness. The closing process was smooth. My only complaint about the sales and closing process (which is a plus, actually, in the current market), is that the closing date was pushed ahead by a month and I had a temporary rental that I could not get out of, so had 2 properties for 2 months. Which DID allow a slow move-in, with ability to have contractors do work without the home being cluttered with boxes and large furniture being placed (getting in the way of painting and the like). My big "nit pick" is that ...

Linda and Eddie’s Lennar buying experience.

Our buying experience hasn’t ended yet. Before we move into our new home we want to get additional work done on it. The interior paint was a flat dull gray on the walls, and the ceilings were a little lighter flat gray. My wife could not live with all that gray flat paint. I mean flat paint is the cheapest paint money can buy. Also, it isn’t practical at all. Get a smudge on it and it’s there to stay! So we got a nice satin paint all around. Now we’re getting more shelving added in all of the bigger closets. Our biggest complaint regarding our Lennar experience is the fact that we ...

Craftsmanship was not of the same quality of the first Lennar home we purchases. The process felt rushed with our walk through taking place before house was finished. There were numerous finishing issues including places where spackling needs to be redone and painting was not complete.

Very poor workmanship. Things are broken, and the builder is reluctant to fix them
Lennar responded:

A true journey from large post and beam house in ny to a beach townhome in SC

We decided to purchase a townhome in market commons community because it provided most of the things we were looking for, close to the beach, a sense of community, access to stores and businesses within walking or driving distance. After a year of exploring when we finally decided on belle harbor community there were only a few lots for townhomes left for sale. We were only able to get a unit close to Rt 17 and we were concerned with traffic noise, we are adjusting to the noise and wish lennar had provided more of a setback and more trees and and plantings between our unit and the road. Hi - I recently purchased an Augusta townhouse in Preserve at Pine Lakes. There have been disappointments, I must admit. Currently experiencing lots of ants and some roaches. Does not appear Lennar treats the earth for insects prior to building, and apparently ground joints not sealed well. Finish and trim poorly done: floor molding in places thrown on hurriedly, cut incorrectly and installed without correction. Out of the way spots with rough edges (eg, door casings bottoms) and no caulk at all (eg, upstairs bathroom, casing at bottom of banister). Workers apparently being pushed for ...

The entire home buying process with Lennar was just one headache after the next. Their sales team cannot communicate anything to you in a timely manner, causing delays and missing out on lots that are for sale. Lennar Mortgage is a joke and a waste of time. I initially was working with them for buying my new home, but they dropped the ball multiple times, gave out our confidential information to the wrong people more than once, and took weeks to respond back to anything causing us to find a new mortgage lender 30 days from closing. The build quality of Lennar is subpar at best...they cut ...

Purchasing the home we had an excellent experience. Once closing was completed and the punch list needed to be addressed our texts and phone calls are not being returned. The repairs are not being addressed and it’s been almost 60 days.

From start to finish everyone associated with Lennar was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. From my first call to inquire about the property until final walk thru we were kept informed on a bi-weekly basis how construction was coming along which was extremely important as we were in NJ. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new well built home.

Experience was not Great

The Builder needs to slow down and get the home’s completed with more time spent on Quality. Standard building practices like installing gutters Having a new Home With a microwave vented by a filter internally makes no sense whatsoever when it can simply vented out the wall. These are just two samples of what we now have to pay for which should be standard features. Concrete workmanship very poor. Fresh air ventilation and damper was never connected. Do it right the first time.

My car has gotten stuck in the garage more times then I can say and no one to help, you have to make virtual help. They hope you won’t Finish work leaves way toon much to be desired . Too many wrong things to go into. Including bottom end product used inside. The one good thing I can say is the head GC was nice. I would never buy another lennar or probably any new build.

We had some issues with chipped cabinets. Not the best quality. So far they have been good with resolving. Didn’t find inside up to My standard in cleaning. Our garage floor was not clean. Some neighbors the cleaning staff hosed down. Not ours. Little disappointed with all the garbage, cans , bottles all around from construction. Construction should have pails to throw their garbage in instead of throwing on ground. Great neighbors took the initiative to clean out pond. It should have been done by cleaning staff.

Construction repair issues

The purchasing process including using Lennar mortgage was wonderful. My issues began when I closed before a few things were repaired and almost 2 months later I still have issues that haven’t been addressed. My contact was moved before the issues were resolved and customer service has stepped in to try to help. I am super frustrated at the communication post sale. I was not shown how anything worked in my walkthrough nor was I given any information. My precious new construction purchase was much better post sale. I am at this time confused as to who to go to for what and am frustrated ...

The agent handling our purchase, Danette, was excellent. She was very responsive and handled our needs very professionally. The house has an excellent floor plan and lot. However, no quality assurance of the work was performed. The house should not have passed occupancy inspection due to no water to the kitchen through the hot water line. A closet door was a single, instead of a double door per the house plan. Cabinet doors were poorly aligned. Guest bath vanity drawers did not close due to improperly placed water line. Garage door did not align with pavement, resulting in a gap. ...

It is the worst I had experienced. They mis-represent items. They are not very responsive, When I have an issue, they won't get back to me until I kept calling or I will need the RE agent to contact them before they will get back to me. The closing process was terrible. The workmanship and the material are horrible. I will never ever buy a house from them again.
