Problems problems problems with loan process, getting into my house, unhappy with quality and honesty
- Adele F.

This is my seventh house I bought and it was the worst experience in everything from home selection, loan process, delays in moving into the home, discovering poor workmanship and a losing battle with fire ants.
Lennar responded:
Good afternoon Adele,

We understand how disappointing this must be, especially after purchasing multiple homes. No pride in their work

The builder rushed everything and uses trades that have no honor or pride in their work. The laziest finishes I’ve ever seen. We had them re caulk three times and are still finding areas where they would only caulk trim on one side of the door.

Found that the investment does not equate to the final product. The investment made does not support the quality or craftmanship delivered. The most upsetting thing was that the house was not ready for the first walk through and the punch list made during that walk through was not attended to as we conducted the final walk through virtually. We were assured that all items were taken care of. This was not the case. In short, we were lied to. I would not recommend the Lennar product to anyone. The value of the product is overinflated. The $300k home with the lack of value in material and ...

Buyer Beware

-A large pattern of sod was stolen from our backyard the day of or right before closing and took a month to be replaced. -The wrong addressed deadbolt was installed on our front door so we couldn't properly secure our home until they got the right address. Took a week. -Cracked/loose fitting water meter box. Was told it’d be fixed after the blue tape walk, never fixed or communicated to about being fixed after closing -Along with the sod being stolen, a lightbulb was also taken from the front yard, leading me to believe the builders took it from my property to put elsewhere. Make sure you get an independent inspection and all punch list items are completed before closing on the house. After market services are slow to get done. Look at paint and caulking for cleanup, painting is sloppy. Lennar Customer Care is a joke. They want to do virtual inspections, which does not tell the real issue.

I bought my first house with lennar and it has been a nightmare. I had to reschedule my original 1st walk-through and the seller from lennar conveniently did not send the new walthrough date to my realtor. Due to this I had to do my walk-through alone, and not knowing what to look out for. The demonstration person from lennar told me we could sign off on everything and I didn't have to do the second walk. Not knowing that this is not supposed to even be an option I signed off and was not let back into the house until after closing. The roughly two weeks between my walk through and closing a ...

Cheap quick builds with cheap slow fixes to any issues with the home. Grout is falling apart day 1 in the bathroom. Salesman Josh in Bastrop was helpful up until he made his sale. He became unresponsive and dismissive once he made his commission. We’ve been living in on brushy creek drive since March and we still have no mailboxes. Lennar is trash. Customer service is trash. I regret buying this home.

The sales person was friendly and helpful . However when it came to warranty work, totally non responsive on all levels unreturned txt messages , full voicemail boxes I cannot even leave a message and after several attempts I still got no response or follow up. I want to know what good is your warranty if nobody follows through . Very frustrating and I definitely will not recommend Lennar to anyone who wants to buy a house . How can I get somebody to honor your company's warranties

Sales reps were disrespectful I still have a clue tape items and each week have to follow up with construction to ask if they will compete the blue tape items. I shouldn’t have to ask in the first place but it’s a constant battle. This is not been a fun experience, buying my first home.

The most stressful expierence of my life excluding serious illness

This was the single most stressful situation of my life with next to no help from the builder/lender/title company (Lennar in all instances). My husband does not do email or anything electronically, so I had to do it in both our names. We decided the day before Thanksgiving that we wanted to buy the house. They called me and told me the initial loan application must be submitted before midnight in order for them to honor our agreed purchase price. I spent hours online trying to do that. I even received help from the Lennar Representative on property. She stayed on the phone with me until ...

I had the original contract to purchase 205 Donnington Dr Hutto TX 78634 for $324,700. There was some issue identified, during the process of purchase.. I was stuck on multiple issues on post inspection.. were worried to move forward. The builder without acceptance of refund or acceptance in signature. Cancelled the contract. Later one week esclated and reengaged in contract for same home with $15,000 penalty higher in price, its sold to me at $339,750. Now this situation is escaltaed to local attorney, I am in process of court action and serve notice to Lennar in middle of Feb26.

This was one of the worst homebuying processes I have had to go through, I feel the employees are incompetent in some departments and making big mistakes with numbers that caused me to change my loan type at the last minute, change my move in date, change my mortgage payment, and it was just an overall bad experience.

We purchased our home a few months back and the process seemed like it was never going to end. Our sales agent Devonte did nothing besides open up the house for us to view and collect his commission, the process of getting approved was so murky that we never felt confident during any point in the process that we were going to end up with the home. The grading on our backyard was terrible, planks in our fence are already falling down, and 2 months in I have already had to have the irrigation company, flooring company, plumbing and a contractor come out to fix various issues that should have be ...

Information on website about available homes and prices of homes is not accurate. There is wide variations. Home selling agents don't seem to have the right info, and try to simply set aside any complaints/issues. Selling agent hung up on me when I raised an issue that I had. Inflexible schedules when final walk throughs are being scheduled.

Avoid Lennar Construction – Terrible Experience

I regret choosing Lennar Construction for my home. The entire process was a nightmare, and I would strongly caution anyone considering buying from them. First, communication was absolutely terrible. Getting clear and timely responses was next to impossible, and I often felt left in the dark. They also push you to use their preferred title company—don’t fall for it! The title company has been a disaster, and even a month after closing, I’m still dealing with issues just trying to get my taxes paid.
