Worst buying experience ever

Do not recommend buying homes from Lennar ever. The home is fine, and we enjoy it compared to paying considerable amount of money to rental agencies, and we had to do a lot of work to our home after we purchased, in order for it to feel livable. The process of buying a home with Lennar was 0 out of 5 stars. We almost didn’t go through with the buying based on the communication and lack of willingness to fix issues with the home prior to close. We were so frustrated we were willing to lose our 3k deposit. If you do happen to buy a Lennar home, know that you will like your home as long as ...

Lennar is TERRIBLE. They would say anything just to get your foot in the door and the contract signed. Then they delay and delay. They even take away promised features just to get the unit “completed” quickly. They promised the Flo water shut off, then didn’t install it because “they ran out”. On the day of closing, I pointed out that my roof is missing ALL circulation vents, and they responded “oh we must have ran out” but I forced them to install it. Warranty team doesn’t want to fix anything, and are not nice. Overall experience was terrible. No communication, and terrible build quality. ...

I just moved in to this brand new construction and I found out how bad the finishing and the materials quality are poor: all doors and baseboards are chipped, the guest bathroom tub is broken, toilette lid is broken in the master, appliances have dents, garage walls and ceilings not painted, cracks in the garage ceiling and concrete, cracks on the patio concrete, etc I submitted a SR to have things fixed before I move in to the house and they insisted in doing an online inspection even though I informed I have no internet connected in the house and the 5G signal was bad. All Service ...

Agreed to buy home at $30k at 3.99%. The morning of closing they changed rate to 4.79%. Have made 7 warranty claims in 3 months. No windows in back of home that open. Cracks in the ceiling. The underwriting process was awful.

As a first time home buyer, you expect certain things but I know not everything can go as planned. Communication at the start of my process was great between the loan officer and home consultant. As the weeks go by, I start to send out documents and I’m getting emails to send the same documents I sent weeks ago… or even just a couple days ago… are they not checking what I am sending. I was also given a very high interest rate even though initially I was told it was going to be a lot lower… the fix?? If you can get a lower rate elsewhere we will match it! Why not just offer the lower rate… ...

This is my second home I bought from Lennar and it is the worst experience I ever had. First, The seller is empty promise, example - Promise to close on Oct, Nov and finally close in Dec. We agreed not escrow property tax in monthly payment. last minute still want to escrow and penalty 1% of I want to take out the escrow. I bought 8 houses in my life so far, I never heard such thing that you have to escrow property tax, they said company policy, if it is than let us know before we purchased and put the deposited. I am not happy with the house detail finish, however I got to moved out ...

The home purchase experience with Lennar was quite effortless and stress-free. It was evident to us that you have competent professionals working hard at every angle to make sure things go smoothly. From pre-qualification, to closing and then afterward, it was actually...pleasant. Definitely, the builder to get our repeat business.

Our experience in buying our new home went south!! Starting with financing department, I thought putting 20% down would allow us to get a conventional loan, with, well it should, but our financial representative didn’t say anything about our loan, we were about to close and he comes up with leaving tax’s and insurance in the payment, which brought up our payment!!! We insisted that with 20% down we would pay our own taxes and insurance!!! Oh my goodness !!!!! I thought I said a bad word!!!! So I told him to rewrite our paperwork without insurance and taxes!!! What a difference!!!! This took ...

House quality fell short. Building timeline was continually pushed back because of labor shortages. Over priced home with no input from consumer. Lennar took advantage of inventory shortage and watered down its brand for the sake of a dollar. I real shame.

3+ months of unnecessary delay and horrible closing experience

The house was delayed 3+ months with no satisfactory explanation. We scheduled closing, all processes started and then Lennar moved closing without notifying me. I learned through my insurance agent who got an email to hold the insurance policy. We didn't have CO until the morning of closing. Final walk through never happened, I signed things online for the sake of closing on this house. The sales team, construction and warranty team were so disconnected, it's unreal. Quality and especially craftsmanship, horrible for Lennar brand name. A handyman would do better and take more pride in ...

I recently purchased a Lennar home at River place. The overall experience has been smooth. The sales executive, Tammy, has been responding timely. She has a wealth of information on hand, and guided us effectively during the whole process. I have had no issues while raising service request. The overall craftsmanship has been decent.

Everything was great until my close date was pushed back 3 times. I understand building materials have been scarce in the past 2 years so that wasn’t the main issue but the start. When I did the final walk through, the agent who did it was respectful but I believe deceitful as well. The front area of the home did not have power until she said “oh the breaker is off” when she flipped jt on everything worked for about 10 minutes. The electrician was there working on the breaker and even thought it was odd that the laundry breaker kept flipping. I submitted a warranty request where it took ...

It’s worth buying the home. Mellisa at the office, David in construction were awesome. The speed they guild these at, leaves a very high margin of sloppy work. We have curved walls. Over lapping paint. Uneven trims , hole hiding behind the oven. Bad landscaping ( sprinkler covered with sod) uneven sod. Despite all of this the house good home. It’s well insulated, the floor plan is well thought out . The ac and heater work. Yup it’s beats renting!

My experience was less than satisfying. At least I made it through the absolute train wreck from start to my 5 hour cluster of a closing experience and thought I could live happily in my home. But, NO!! Lennar didn't schedule a final inspection for the loan and out of the blue nearly 2 months after I close I find out they are threatening legal against me for them not scheduling an inspection??? This is beyond ridiculous!!

Our experience with Lennar builders was bad from start to finish. We were pressured into a walk-thru before the house was completed. This resulted in additional pressure to close before the end of the month and before fixes were complete. We were told during the walk-thru that we would be supplied touch-up paint, which we didn't receive. We have asked several times for specific color names that were used and still have not received. Attention to detail on the finishing of the house was poor, obviously the constrution manager didn't care in shotty craftsmanship. We've had nothing but ...

I would not recommend. Workmanship is poor quality, finding more and more issues as we get more settled- poor painting, lots of seal and caulk issues, cabinet colors don’t match, mouse infestation, the list goes on and on. Not all issues are covered which makes it more frustrating. Major issues with hot water, recently fixed after enormous gas bill. Working with Jonathan now on warranty items and he has been great thus far! Lennar should spend a bit more time in the details of the home prior to close and move-in. The walk through is very difficult as they are showing you all of the amenities ...

We called out that there was water accumulation in the back yard that was not dissipating prior to purchase. It was listed as an exception to close. The water did dissipate some but not completely. This is a huge inconvenience as we have dogs and every time they go outside, when they return, the dogs muddy up the floor. During closing and after closing the Lennar Rep did make contact. We turned off the water sprinklers a week after we purchased house and the mud/water has remained, to this day. I will be contacting the rep after the holidays to see about getting this remediated.
