Decent experience buying this home.

I was disappointed in the amount of time it took to close on closing day, which resulted in our getting the keys too late to move in. Overall, the home is, so far, better than expected. Service calls are answered in an average amount of time, with the exception of an EXCEPTIONAL member of the Customer Service team named Sonia.

Cutting corners to save money on every front

  • Cory C.

I regret buying this home. Every single day, I regret it. There are so many hidden poor craftsman issues that I find. From ceiling light covers randomly falling, to ethernet ports being installed the wrong way, to THE worst floors I have ever had the displeasure of having. There really is no end to how poor quality of the home this is. Its a shame, because the floorplan is fantastic. But the corner cutting to save every penny, or in some cases just poor craftsmanship is where the regret comes in. Need customer service BEFORE you buy? LENNAR has you covered. But AFTER??? You're own your ...

Maddie/concierge was horrible - didn't notify me of sod installation - cost me money

  • John M.

Maddie did not communicate throughout the home buying experience. I am an out of state buyer and having somebody in that position was critical to the success of my buying and closing. I requested multiple times to notify me when the sod would be installed, she didn't, and then Lennar would not honor the warranty. I will be posting truthfully negative public comments. Lennar will have one more opportunity to reimburse me for the sod or I will post the comments and then take them to small claims. I will win.

Lennar responded:
Hello John, and thank you for writing this review. We want to apologize for the frustrations you have experienced and outlined above. If there is anything outstanding in which we could provide some follow-up, please send us a message at corporatecustomercare@lennar.com. - Lennar Customer Care

A happy home owner

The buying experience was very good. I had tried to buy a house before, and it was a nightmare. But Lennar made their process easy. The house design is wonderful however, the quality of the material used in the building are Mid tier. The customer service was good, but once the house was purchased, I didn’t get any response to my inquiries. Overall, I’ll give them an 7 out of 10. I’m going to recommend going with them for affordability.

The loan/underwriting process was the most demanding and intensive process I've ever been through AND this is my third home to own. They needed so many documents that had me questioning, "Why do they need this?" I'm telling folks not to purchase a Lennar.

Do not purchase a Lennar. The loan/underwriting process was very intense. Also, make sure you know what you are NOT getting before you move into your home. They focus on what it includes, but don't tell you what you are not getting. For example: Refrigerator, back door blinds, bathroom shower racks, shower curtain rods, DOOR BELL, washer and dryer (may sure to check the connections) guest bedroom closet lights. I wouldn't do this again.....

Lennar responded:
Good morning Christopher, We’re sorry to hear that your experience with the loan process and move-in expectations did not meet what you had hoped for.

Moving forward, we hope we can earn back your trust by supporting you in your homeowner journey. If there are any outstanding warrantable concerns, we encourage you to submit a warranty service request through your Lennar account so your concerns can be properly documented and reviewed by the appropriate team.

Sincerely,
Lennar Corporate Customer Care

Overall purchasing experience was great. The whole Lennar team was very helpful and responsive to my concerns. Buyers should be vigilant hiring a qualified independent inspector and insist on being allowed enough time to address any issues before the final walk through. Finance and sales team were top notch. Quality of the home is good, but first time buyers need to understand the difference between a move in ready home and a home that needs upgrades from builder grade materials, paint, etc. The design of the house is nice and the yard is spacious. Buyers appreciate the home warranty as it is ...

An Experience!

Great overall experience. I feel some corners were cut, and completion was rushed to make way for new or ongoing project builds. Semi-upgraded appliances and fixtures, no handles or knobs included with cabinetry, poor landscaping that has to be redone due to weeds growing through, laminate wood flooring lifting up from foundational floor in a few areas, maybe due to careless or improper installation. All of the above mentioned scenarios/concerns creates pause with giving Lennar an Exceptional home buying experience rating. Otherwise, pretty great home so far.

Many difficulties - Roofing shingles were not properly installed - Title Closing site caused closing confusion - Two problems with HVAC system - Roof trim/venting had to be redone - Shower head started spray leak - Wall paint above shower needed re-painted - Kitchen GFCI circuit failed for four outlets - Street signs never installed for my street and two others before and after streets, Lennar reps ignored, so I had to contact city councilperson to prompt city to install, still waiting - Lennar did not confirm mail delivery on-going, so have not received mail for over 6 weeks, have had to go ...

This is my second Lennar house, our experience with our 1st house in CO was outstanding, 2nd in TX is not good, very poor work Manship, QC extremely poor, baseboard is, in some places 1/4" off floor, just filled with a massive amount of caulk looks terrible, millwork is all dented, door frames cut way to short & filled in where frame meets door with a massive amount of caulk, door hinges painted white, paint already coming off

Jordan and Seth both were kind and patient with us. Bring seniors we are not very tech savvy and both of them helped us in that regard. On the construction side, this is the worst paint and grout job I’ve ever seen. I was expecting builder grade paint but the manner in which was applied is awful. When we went to pick up the keys to our home we met Richard, customer care, who said he would be by in a few days. That was the last we saw of him.

This is my second Lennar house. I loved my first one and it was a great overall experience, would still live in that house if the neighborhood stayed good. This was a horrible purchasing experience, especially with escrow, and let me explain we could have paid cash for the house, but we didn't want too. The electrical messes up a lot, tons of work orders to get it right. One can light per room and no fans. Only a few plugs in each room too, seems weird. Dealing with them isn't the easiest, and it all depends on what area you buy in and the people, because like I said, our first ...

The Lennar experience during purchase was fine. Once we moved in, a BAD wind storm pushed through and our roof torn apart because it was not installed correctly. The adhesive tabs were still on the shingle. When I reached out for support, I was told, it is your problem contact the insurance company. Every house on our street had roof damage...seems like a systemic problem to me, yet Lennar is not upstanding enough to assist residents who have lived in a home for less than 2 weeks.

I bought this home, thinking that it was a quality built home. However, after my walk-through and their repairs were done, they left paint speckles all throughout my floor in my home. When I called to let them know about these paint speckles all over the floor of my brand new home. I was told it was my problem now. 2) Wind storm came through less than a month after I bought my home. I was told they would not cover it because there was an excess of 70 mph wind gusts. However, after the insurance inspection and an inspection by a professional roofing company, I was told that the roof was ...

Well it took me 3 houses before I got the house I have now. The first house the loan officer was asking me about my Zelle saying I owed Zelle and I even got an inspection for the house that Lennar sold while I was getting all my information together. Then the second house I didn’t get because I didn’t want the high interest rate. So the third house I got because they already had all my information and we closed quickly. But I really wanted the first house. This is my first time buying a house and the salesperson didn’t give a house gift. It seemed that she want interest in making sure the ...
