Rushed experience poor quality…

This was my first home purchase, and I’m disappointed that it hasn’t been the exciting milestone I imagined. The contract and application process felt rushed and poorly explained, and the closing experience was overwhelming and rushed. Since moving in, I’ve noticed numerous issues that suggest the builder cut corners, and the overall quality of the home doesn’t reflect the high cost I paid. It feels like I’m overpaying for something that wasn’t built to last. While this is meant to be my starter home, I will never trust Lennar Builders again.

Lennar responded:
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We're sorry to hear that things didn’t go as expected, and we understand how frustrating that can be. If you’d like to share additional details, please email CorporateCustomerCare@Lennar.com and mention this review for our reference. Your feedback helps us identify areas where we can do better, and we’re committed to sharing it with the appropriate team to help improve the homebuying experience for all our customers.

There was no hot water when we moved in, the washing machine didn't work. The dryer was tripping the breaker, which needed to be replaced. The front door entrance was poorly designed, causing you to get drenched from rain, making it virtually impassible. We requested several times for the front door area to be power washed from excessive dust, it never happened! Stay on top of Lennar for these types of things. That said, they did respond fairly quickly to address most issues. We will have to come out of pocket to fix the rain/front door issue.

Lennar responded:
Thank you James for bringing this to our attention through your review. We're sorry your experience didn’t meet the standard we aim to uphold. If there are any remaining concerns, please contact us at CorporateCustomerCare@Lennar.com so we can address them directly. We hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust.

Extremely Disappointed with Lennar – Unorganized, Misleading, and Frustrating Experience: My home buying experience with Lennar has been nothing short of disappointing. From the start, I encountered numerous inefficiencies, misinformation, and poor communication—and unfortunately, these are just a few examples among many. 1. Incompetent Lending Process: Lennar outsources its underwriting process to a foreign country, which caused serious delays and inefficiencies. The loan officer provided confusing and inconsistent instructions regarding debt payoff in order to qualify. I was told to ...

Emphasis more on getting the contract signed without proper inspection and taking responsibilities for resolving client's issues. My property had a number of poor finishes and uncompleted snag list of items. This was left for me to arrange post move-in. In addition, I had electrical issues which I was not adequately supported for resolution even though this was a know issue according to the electrical engineer who later fixed the issue. I still have issues to be resolved once I have time to organize it. My experience was a terrible one and would not like it to be repeated.

Lennar responded:
Good afternoon Benjamin. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback on your recent Lennar home purchase. We are truly sorry for the experience you've had. We really appreciate your feedback and would like to help you with outstanding warranty items. This is my third Lennar home, and to be honest, if it weren’t for my commitment to the Next Gen model, I wouldn’t have purchased from Lennar again. The lack of customization options and the smaller yard compared to my previous homes have been quite disappointing. I’ve also experienced several warranty issues. While they are typically resolved quickly, the quality of the repairs seems to have declined in recent years. Additionally, my assigned sales representative has been unresponsive, and it’s been nearly two months since I moved in, and I still haven’t received a mailbox key which is ...

This was a horrible home purchase experience. It was hard to get a person to call you back. We had to do a virtual closing and it was awful, the first person we called at the Virtual Closing hung up on use when we didn't get connected fast enough. Then we had to find someone at Lennar who could tell how to get back into the Que since this was already paid for by Lennar. We couldn't ask any questions because it was just the notary on the call. Horrible. After we got moved in our air conditioner did not cool! Lennar has you scan a code if you have any problems and that called us back to help ...

I have always thought highly of Lennar until now. The purchasing experience was very stressful and the whole process was disconnected. The sale agent, Trisha was very unprofessional and stopped all communication with me after I signed the contract to purchase the home. The original finance officer, Sandra transferred me to another finance officer without notice and that is when it became extremely confusing because the numbers changed and there was no clear explanation. Construction team was a hit and miss, some were great; others; not so much. The only team that made it bearable was the ...

It's a good community when you build your house try to keep the engineers who they are when you move them around there are a lot of differences in the construction of the house so there is a lot of irresponsible behavior from your engineers and to this day I still haven't got the key to my garage door key missing. Also I didn't get any painting code or color code for the inner wall. You didn't give this at the time of closing. You engineers don't know. After asking, they showed me with open arms. So I can't even go to the paint shop and get a sample of it. When you made the concrete base, it ...

John did not take my third party inspection report seriously. He brushed everything off and basically told me that this was not going to be a "perfect" house. Even for a new build, this house had a ridiculous number of imperfections and I was rushed into closing. Even after moving in, I have submitted over 4 warranty claims, and the Lennar representative just tells me that everything is not covered. I have a garage door that doesn't close, an A/C unit with a bad filter after less that 60-days of move in, and so many more issues. I have purchased 4 homes throughout my 42 years of life and this was by far the worst experience. The communication is poor when it comes to consistency amongst all parties involved. If I had 8,000 to waste, I would have walked away from this home just based on Lennar staff. The organization was poor, timelines felt unorganized and pressured. The quality is not the best. The sales person for my home was horrible. Had no clue what she was doing. Numbers were all over the place every single day. The mortgage and title people were nice though. But, no one ever gave me the exact breakdown of how much my payments were. Totally unacceptable. In fact, I am probably going to sell my house.

Completing the purchase was very touchy, and communication was not the greatest. Now that we are in the home, we are having to move back out due to the flooring issues, and this has made me question the workmanship in other areas of the house. The mortgage and title company were both an absolute nightmare to work with, horrible communication, not disclosing things properly, and the layout of how things were going to work, were not at all in the order/flow. Everything was very confusing. This was the worst new home process I have ever seen. The new home concierge that we were told to contact never responded to emails. Still am very unsettled about coming in to buy home that was advertised with a red slash through it and advertised as reduced price. Went in on last day unexpectedly when I got email on home sale. Went by address and walked around. I wanted it no matter what. I was told I had to pay full price and was given 2 different reasons that I can't remember why I could NOT have sale price advertised. One of those reasons was: I had to pay cash? So I had to pay full price. Why was my Representative paid commission on base price of home? I was told I had to purchase at full price. Balmoral is a very nice community. However, if buying from Lennar there are things a person should be aware of/pay attention to small details…such as in most Lennar homes they install one extremely small sink in the Master Bedroom. There are no gutters on the Lennar homes in our sub-development and we had to pay for after market gutter installation. The wooden fence installed is of poor quality with many holes and/or damage planks. Also, Lennar advertises the garage can fit large trucks…this is not a true statement. This wasn’t the experience I was expecting as a first time home buyer. So truly, as a first time buyer, it’s disappointing. The only good thing about it all was working with the salesperson. Amanda was friendly and responsive. However, a rocky start with the lender as she was completely unresponsive. It took a couple weeks before I was told she wasn’t with the company and had to begin over with someone new. So overall, wouldn’t recommend. Lennar Homes are not worth the money. Poorly built, plumbing not up to code, electrical issues and appliances not installed correctly. Home didn't even come with a garage door opener. 3 service requests in regards to AC not cooling, dryer outlet not working (circuit in breaker had to be replaced), water leaking under front and back doors, installed appliances not working, and unable to transfer utility to own name due to water-test not yet performed by builder and water company; and it's only been 2 months since closing.
