Terrible experience

It started with a walk-through well before the house was ready, and multiple things not finished. I felt like the closing date was forced in order to get the sale in May. Still working on things that should have been done before the close. Even after multiple visits from the landscaper, yard is still in terrible condition.

Never buying a Lennar home again

This company is the most unprofessional company I’ve ever dealt with. I never spoke to a real person the whole process, and every time I had a question it would never get answered. Also, when I purchased the house, the house was robbed, and I was told that this was the first time it ever happened in this area but the funny thing is I spoke to people who also bought a house in the area three months ago and they told me that this happened to five different homes. There is no transparency with this builder. Also recently I got contacted by the builder saying that the roofing company needs to do ...

Bad buying experiences with Lennar

Have bad experiences with Lennar’s title and sale agent. They tried to tell us wire the money before the closing date which is understandable. However, the final walk through date is AFTER the closing date. I voiced the concern without any answer. On Lennar track, they are no where ready for closing. No seller commitment document, no survey document uploaded or provided. I bought 3 homes with them and this will be the last one

Lennar responded:

I have been in this building for a month and we have an electrical issues with the breaker since the beginning of the closing. They have already changed the breakers 2 times and it has not solved the issue there is still a problem. It hasn't been a month, we have a leak in the sprinkle system which caused us to have a large amount in the water bill. We also just had a problem in the floor lamination. This really frustrates me to the point where I have to fill up a different warranty claim for a different problem every single week.

Lennar responded:
Good morning Noah,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of getting items resolved with us. We apologize for the frustrations you have encountered. Your concerns have been shared with upper management for their review and action. Moving forward for any general request for information or warrantable issues, please submit a service/warranty request online through your Lennar Account. Terrible workmanship and material, horrible sales experience

They cut corners on everything. Material, especially doors are incredibly cheap. The new house even looks like it's been lived in by other people for months. It's was dirty with lots of scratches when we took possession. We have all the photographs for evidence. The salespeople were tricky, sneaky, unwilling to help, and don't return calls most of the time. About the only tiny bright spot are the warranty/Lennar Care people who help address issues with the house. And there were tons of issues, probably more than 2 dozens. Will try to avoid Lennar in the future at all costs.

Lennar responded:
Hi Stefan, we apologize for the experience you went through when purchasing your home. We also want to apologize for the communication issues that you faced. We will use your feedback to improve. If you need anything else with your home, please let us know. -Lennar Customer Care

My sales associate was not very knowledgeable abt the questions I had and he was easily offended. The lender scrutinized our accounts and disqualified the money we had to bring to closing. The house's workmanship and materials seems well built but lacking some very important features that leave a big impression like no sprinkler system, no garage door opener, no covered back porch, no fans in any room, dining area too small for a dining table, living room too narrow, and grass is dying. Our plan is to sell as soon as possible and get into something better suited for our family.

Home buying process felt rushed, our realtor also stated we would receive 2 ceiling fans which were never given. Was told we needed to sign a contract that very same day or else the interest rate and pricing of the home would increase the following day. We asked our agent to go through the contract with us prior to signing and he refused due to him being busy. We ended up having to visit the model home to have another agent explain the contract to us. We believed this was very unprofessional. My experience was horrible since we felt were forced to sign on a house that wasnt to our liking. I had a better experience with KB homes then Lennar. I expected more from Lennar since theyre "BETTER" then KB homes but my experience with KB was excellent compared to Lennar. My home feels like it was slapped together just for us to sign and move in.

When we first bought our home in May of 2019, we were told we did not need flood insurance because the area wasn’t a flood zone area, fast forward to Sep 2019 with tropical storm imelda, we were under water! So many of our neighbors lost their homes, we had to be rescued because water was rising, my brand new 2019 vehicle got flooded 2 weeks after buying it, just such an emotional event to go through, and the saddest part is all my neighbors were told the same thing about flood insurance. The materials of the house weren’t all that, our plants died a week after we moved in, our grass too, the ...

Terrible Experience With Lennar

I personally didn’t have a good experience at all when purchasing my home. My loan officer was fired days before my original closing date. Supposedly she didn’t upload any of my documents to my folder and I basically had to start from scratch with a new loan officer. This process pushed me back another 3 months. This was very inconvenient to my life because I had to make adjustments and spend a lot of unnecessary money in order for my family to be good while we wait on our home. No extra incentive for their former employees mistakes, no one reaching out to check in or being responsive when I ...

I cannot stress this enough: stay as far away from Lennar as possible. My experience with them has been an absolute nightmare. From the very beginning, they were unprofessional and unreliable. Deadlines were consistently missed, communication was terrible, and the quality of the work was horrendous. The house they built for me is riddled with issues—poor craftsmanship, cheap materials, and countless problems that should have been caught during construction. It's clear that they cut corners wherever they could, and now I'm left with a house that needs constant repairs. The customer ...

My 2nd Lennar home. What a huge (bad) difference in build quality and materials compared to first home. No gutters. No sprinkler system. Side boards are very soft, dry wall very soft. Paint is very bright white. Counter top is nice but very cheap because it stains quickly. Bathroom faucets are the cheapest on the market, same goes for the sink. Had electrical issue first week, service request put me on a viral call (the construction manager assisted with the issue, it was a wiring issue). Had a mouse get in the garage the first week because they left a open space under the water heater. ...

If I could give no stars I would. From the second we filled out an application, the rest of the process went lower than rock bottom. We spoke to our finance person (Mary Jo) ONE time and that was after calling/emailing numerous times. I finally reached out to Ali (man in the model home) letting him know that we have been trying to get ahold of her with no call back. This happened several times as we did have questions along the way because Mary Jo NEVER updated us on ANYTHING. The one time she did talk to us she rushed us off the phone stating she was very busy. At first it was good but after you sign and put money down, takes sales 2-3 days to call back even my realtor could not get a hold of him. The on line paperwork is a joke. The first walk thru was horrible water leaking in the wall and Lennar was just going to leave water in the wall and underneath the flooring. Paint not finished. Just got it fixed on the day of closing. Let’s talk about Lennar contractors damaged my A/C unit outside and when you send a service request in it’s poor response. Front door sagging. The flooring in my house was a complete catastrophic failure. Everything else was done well. The build suffered a great deal from having the flooring installed so terribly. There’s nothing that can be done to fix the issue other than rip it all out and put new flooring in correctly. It’s pretty sad. Now I have to have someone come rip it all out and do it correctly.
