If I could give no stars I would. From the second we filled out an application, the rest of the process went lower than rock bottom. We spoke to our finance person (Mary Jo) ONE time and that was after calling/emailing numerous times. I finally reached out to Ali (man in the model home) letting him know that we have been trying to get ahold of her with no call back. This happened several times as we did have questions along the way because Mary Jo NEVER updated us on ANYTHING. The one time she did talk to us she rushed us off the phone stating she was very busy. Ma'am we are all busy, so you ...

At first it was good but after you sign and put money down, takes sales 2-3 days to call back even my realtor could not get a hold of him. The on line paperwork is a joke. The first walk thru was horrible water leaking in the wall and Lennar was just going to leave water in the wall and underneath the flooring. Paint not finished. Just got it fixed on the day of closing. Let’s talk about Lennar contractors damaged my A/C unit outside and when you send a service request in it’s poor response. Front door sagging. Closet door damaged kitchen cabinets coming apart over all just a bad experience . ...

Here’s my honesty!

  • Ethan D.

The flooring in my house was a complete catastrophic failure. Everything else was done well. The build suffered a great deal from having the flooring installed so terribly. There’s nothing that can be done to fix the issue other than rip it all out and put new flooring in correctly. It’s pretty sad. Now I have to have someone come rip it all out and do it correctly.

Lennar responded:

Communication via lender was scares - little to none The day of closing didn’t know if I was going to close or not due to lack of communication finally 2 hours after my set closing time I got a call and they told me that they were working on it and they would let me know by 5 , 5 rolled around and still nothing. The builders pushed my closing date from , 2/28 to 2/25 at the very beginning of the loan process no big deal but they didn’t communicate that with the lender so the lender thought they had more time to work my file. No only was the house not ready to close, there where things not ...

I did not shop my loan to different brokers and Lennar locked me into their lender. I was moving from CA and unaware of TX real estate laws. My fault. I had to jump through hoops to get closed. The underwriter requested forms contradictory to information on Lennar’s website. Lender was not clear in communication requesting information that caused delays. Someone wrote “Won’t Get Fooled Again” and I lived it. If Lennar was the last builder on the planet, I wouldn’t recommend them.

Lennar has succeeded at making my first home buying experience terrible in so many ways. Closed Jan 19th and still have floors popping up all over house. Got huge runaround by flooring company. Now I have to be displaced from my home for 3 days and pray things are actually done correctly this time.

A Disappointing Experience with Lennar Homes

  • Israel E.

I had high hopes when purchasing my home through Lennar, but unfortunately, my experience has been riddled with frustration and disappointment. Before closing, I hired a professional home inspector who uncovered a laundry list of issues—bad masonry work, sloppy and frankly comical electrical wiring, fencing that lacked proper nails and support, and concerning plumbing flaws, particularly with the water heater. Despite these problems, I was pressured to close on the home before the issues were properly addressed. While some of them were eventually fixed, the process was far from timely or ...

My experience with Lennar was not great at all. Yes we got a lot of incentives but communication was horrible. They were not up front about what came with the home, the sales representative lied to us about anything and everything. Keep in mind that this is my first time buying a home. It was supposed to be a smooth process and one of the happiest moments of our lives but we felt robbed from that moment. Not only that they would not communicate with my realtor at all. Just when dates were pushed for walkthroughs which were changed at least 5 times. Overall communication was terrible with ...

We were originally offered a chance to get a lower interest rate and then right before closing were told that there was no way to even consider lowering the interest rate, but it was kinda too late at that point for us. Our closing date was miscommunicated to us and after planning move out dates at our other place and setting up installation appointments at the new place, this delay in closing caused us to have to rush back and forth to get everything moved in half the time we expected to have. After moving in, we found multiple issues.....paint on the carpet, paint on the vinyl plank ...

Honestly, I would never recommend nor purchase another Lennar home. The only positive experience was my initial walk thru 2 weeks prior to closing on my home with Lennar associate Beth. From the very start with Lennar, my sales personnel, Jimmy Zaid kicked off the negative experienc but his constant lack of communication, And most importantly empty promise of purchase price. He stated that every model of my home sells for $300,000 and that there were 3 left after looking at a model of one selling that day. The worst experience of my life buying home from Lennar. I bought a Lennar (New Home) in 2004 and had a very good experience, but this time we were disappointed. We chose the house because of the school. Our friends warned us about Lennar. We are still working to get all fixed from Lennar. A lot they just won't. While we closed on the house, they were still working at the home, and it seems like it never ends. In 2004, the house was finished, and we could move in right away after a few paint and grass fixes. This time, the walls are not even straight. We had some walls fixed already. I am tired of looking at all and wished I picked a different ...
