Terrible Experience With Lennar

I personally didn’t have a good experience at all when purchasing my home. My loan officer was fired days before my original closing date. Supposedly she didn’t upload any of my documents to my folder and I basically had to start from scratch with a new loan officer. This process pushed me back another 3 months. This was very inconvenient to my life because I had to make adjustments and spend a lot of unnecessary money in order for my family to be good while we wait on our home. No extra incentive for their former employees mistakes, no one reaching out to check in or being responsive when I ...

Hi there Justin, we apologize for the inconvenience that we may have caused you during your initial homebuying process. We also want to apologize for any mistakes that our team could have caused and for not reaching out to you more. We want to let you know that we are going to share your review with the divisions leadership to address. -Lennar Customer Care

My wife and I met with the sales rep, Amanda and go preapproved shortly after applying for a Lennar Home Loan. From there, we submitted the required documentation requested by the Mortgage Loan Officer, Christian. We submitted all documentation within the requested time frame and sent the earnest money almost immediately. When our close approached, everything fell apart. We had our inspection a week prior to our close date. We got in touch with John regarding what we would like to be done prior to close. This included the cracked driveway being broken up and re-poured. Upon my wife discussing ...

When I visited the office as expected the quality and service I had before from Lennar. After a very long purchase process, I finally got the house. Since it is a new home, I expected not to have issues. I reported 4 of them and only one has been taken care of. Very sad.

I cannot stress this enough: stay as far away from Lennar as possible. My experience with them has been an absolute nightmare. From the very beginning, they were unprofessional and unreliable. Deadlines were consistently missed, communication was terrible, and the quality of the work was horrendous. The house they built for me is riddled with issues—poor craftsmanship, cheap materials, and countless problems that should have been caught during construction. It's clear that they cut corners wherever they could, and now I'm left with a house that needs constant repairs. The customer ...

My 2nd Lennar home. What a huge (bad) difference in build quality and materials compared to first home. No gutters. No sprinkler system. Side boards are very soft, dry wall very soft. Paint is very bright white. Counter top is nice but very cheap because it stains quickly. Bathroom faucets are the cheapest on the market, same goes for the sink. Had electrical issue first week, service request put me on a viral call (the construction manager assisted with the issue, it was a wiring issue). Had a mouse get in the garage the first week because they left a open space under the water heater. ...

The whole buying experience was horrible. Once I moved in I found so many issues with the house. The AC drain line was not connected so there was water damaged and the dryer vent pipe was not put it. They had to cut the walls and fix the water damage and it took a month to fix.

If I could give no stars I would. From the second we filled out an application, the rest of the process went lower than rock bottom. We spoke to our finance person (Mary Jo) ONE time and that was after calling/emailing numerous times. I finally reached out to Ali (man in the model home) letting him know that we have been trying to get ahold of her with no call back. This happened several times as we did have questions along the way because Mary Jo NEVER updated us on ANYTHING. The one time she did talk to us she rushed us off the phone stating she was very busy. Ma'am we are all busy, so you ...

At first it was good but after you sign and put money down, takes sales 2-3 days to call back even my realtor could not get a hold of him. The on line paperwork is a joke. The first walk thru was horrible water leaking in the wall and Lennar was just going to leave water in the wall and underneath the flooring. Paint not finished. Just got it fixed on the day of closing. Let’s talk about Lennar contractors damaged my A/C unit outside and when you send a service request in it’s poor response. Front door sagging. Closet door damaged kitchen cabinets coming apart over all just a bad experience . ...

The flooring in my house was a complete catastrophic failure. Everything else was done well. The build suffered a great deal from having the flooring installed so terribly. There’s nothing that can be done to fix the issue other than rip it all out and put new flooring in correctly. It’s pretty sad. Now I have to have someone come rip it all out and do it correctly.

Communication via lender was scares - little to none The day of closing didn’t know if I was going to close or not due to lack of communication finally 2 hours after my set closing time I got a call and they told me that they were working on it and they would let me know by 5 , 5 rolled around and still nothing. The builders pushed my closing date from , 2/28 to 2/25 at the very beginning of the loan process no big deal but they didn’t communicate that with the lender so the lender thought they had more time to work my file. No only was the house not ready to close, there where things not ...

I did not shop my loan to different brokers and Lennar locked me into their lender. I was moving from CA and unaware of TX real estate laws. My fault. I had to jump through hoops to get closed. The underwriter requested forms contradictory to information on Lennar’s website. Lender was not clear in communication requesting information that caused delays. Someone wrote “Won’t Get Fooled Again” and I lived it. If Lennar was the last builder on the planet, I wouldn’t recommend them.

A Disappointing Experience with Lennar Homes

  • Israel E.

I had high hopes when purchasing my home through Lennar, but unfortunately, my experience has been riddled with frustration and disappointment. Before closing, I hired a professional home inspector who uncovered a laundry list of issues—bad masonry work, sloppy and frankly comical electrical wiring, fencing that lacked proper nails and support, and concerning plumbing flaws, particularly with the water heater. Despite these problems, I was pressured to close on the home before the issues were properly addressed. While some of them were eventually fixed, the process was far from timely or ...
