At first it was good but after you sign and put money down, takes sales 2-3 days to call back even my realtor could not get a hold of him. The on line paperwork is a joke. The first walk thru was horrible water leaking in the wall and Lennar was just going to leave water in the wall and underneath the flooring. Paint not finished. Just got it fixed on the day of closing. Let’s talk about Lennar contractors damaged my A/C unit outside and when you send a service request in it’s poor response. Front door sagging. Closet door damaged kitchen cabinets coming apart over all just a bad experience . ...

The flooring in my house was a complete catastrophic failure. Everything else was done well. The build suffered a great deal from having the flooring installed so terribly. There’s nothing that can be done to fix the issue other than rip it all out and put new flooring in correctly. It’s pretty sad. Now I have to have someone come rip it all out and do it correctly.

Will Never Buy Another Lennar House

Our experience buying a Lennar House was a Nightmare! And 8 weeks after moving in, our nightmare continues. Trust me when I say, dont buy with Lennar, keep looking find your dream home, they crushed our dreams.

I would never recommend Lennar to any home buyer. The overall experience was so poor and this is my 4th home purchase. So many things went wrong with this home purchase from day one up until the closing day. I will NEVER buy a home with Lennar again and I would NEVER recommend them.

First home purchase, with the worst home buying process with both lender and construction

Communication via lender was scares - little to none The day of closing didn’t know if I was going to close or not due to lack of communication finally 2 hours after my set closing time I got a call and they told me that they were working on it and they would let me know by 5 , 5 rolled around and still nothing. The builders pushed my closing date from , 2/28 to 2/25 at the very beginning of the loan process no big deal but they didn’t communicate that with the lender so the lender thought they had more time to work my file. Low quality materials used and left the finishing work undone and promised to be taken care of at time of closing but later they don't care. Keep putting work orders and they ask for phone appointments and virtual appointments but work not done and they close the tickets without completing it. Even the area manager don't respond to email sent. Really disappointed.

Every step of the home buying process was horrible. From the agent, to the contractor and now customer service won’t respond to us for a month. Every single person I come into contact with from this point on I will stir away from Lennar. Between the several realtors and businesses in our realm, we should be able to reach many of your potential customers to insure they do not make the same mistake we did by choosing Lennar as our home builder.

Requested my preconstruction meeting 4 times, IN WRITING, never happened. Was not able to do a pre-sheetrock inspection despite asking for one, they put the sheetrock up anyways. Had I known timelines, hence wanting a preconstruction meeting, I could have planned better. I did not meet A SINGLE person from the construction team until TWO WEEKS before I closed. Workmanship was described by A LENNAR TEAM MEMBER and my realtor as "embarrassing". I did not shop my loan to different brokers and Lennar locked me into their lender. I was moving from CA and unaware of TX real estate laws. My fault. I had to jump through hoops to get closed. The underwriter requested forms contradictory to information on Lennar’s website. Lender was not clear in communication requesting information that caused delays. Someone wrote “Won’t Get Fooled Again” and I lived it. If Lennar was the last builder on the planet, I wouldn’t recommend them.

Lennar has succeeded at making my first home buying experience terrible in so many ways. Closed Jan 19th and still have floors popping up all over house. Got huge runaround by flooring company. Now I have to be displaced from my home for 3 days and pray things are actually done correctly this time.

Lennar takes advantage of buyers and has terrible build quality

If at all possible DO NOT buy a house from Lennar. If at all possible they will take advantage of price increases on your contracted home to selectively cancel your contract and force you to re-contract on the same house at a higher price. They will do this the day before closing forcing your hand to fork over more money. The quality of the house is terrible. Our floor tiles buckle, the kitchen island is not level do food rolls off, the HVAC cannot maintain safe humidity levels, there are a number of mis-wired switches and missing GFCI and or AFCI breakers. Quality of materials used is poor, property seems to have gone up quickly with a lack a quality control, when issues arise, there is a delay in response, appointments for repairs were made and no call/no show. Neighbors have expressed discord regarding quality as well.

Lennar should be embarrassed to close on a home in this poor condition. There is no quality control. From door knobs falling off to plumbing fixtures detaching. The list is long. I feel they threw my home together and they are taking their sweet time fixing all the problems. I do not recommend nor will I ever buy a Lennar.
