The one thing that stood out the most was the complete lack of attention to detail.

I have been around home building my entire life and have never seen a house get built with such lack of care. There were so many things that stood out to show that one the contractor is either way to rushed. Or two they just don’t care. Walls with very little or no paint. Tile that didn’t get grouted in places. Brick work that looked like a little kid did it. List goes on and on. This is just the builder side of things. I have plenty of complaints for the entire company.

Lennar responded:

If there is anything we can do to assist, please send us a message at corporatecustomercare@lennar.com with any additional details you can provide and we will follow-up on your behalf. - Lennar Customer Care

Don't Buy a House From Lennar

This review is not in regards to the location, the neighborhood, the local schools, etc... It is strictly about Lennar. I purchased a home from Lennar at the end of May 2019. My experience with Lennar before and after purchasing the home has been terrible. This company lacks communication, consistency, and quality, among other things. When we agreed to purchase the home that we liked, the closing date was originally set for early June 19. Lennar contacted us and said that the closing date could be moved up to mid-May. We agreed to that closing date. When that date finally came around, I ...

The most frustrating home buying process I’ve experienced. The mortgage team continuously sent documents for signature with errors, and when pointed out repeated said to just sign them as they were only for underwriting and we’d just be signing them again later with different info. Very uncomfortable process. I was still resigning corrected papers a month after closing that I had pointed out previously and told to not worry. They also rarely responded to questions without multiple attempts for info, but were always in a hurry to have documents returned immediately regardless of the time of ...

Just not a good experience in any way except Travis our concierge. We feel mislead and ripped off. Delays. Horrible communication. We knew Lennar is not a top builder, but we’re not expecting this? Ever heard of closing at 11P? Ever heard of a builder trying to coverup a breakin during construction? You will.

Lennar responded:
Hi George, we are sorry that you did not find your experience with Lennar enjoyable. We are also sorry for the inconveniences that may have come up. 1. Every Loan processor that was involved with our loan, whether it were a Senior Loan Processor or not, kept asking for the same documents repeatedly after they have been sent. We were emailed on 9/5/23, 9/8/23, 9/14/23, 9/15/23 to provide a copy of social security card, but we were informed by Bryan D. that the 1099 form would suffice as a form of their SSN. 2. With said loan processors, they kept insisting that there was a bank account that had belonged to me and my husband, when they actually belonged to my in-laws, even after being told countless times that it did not belong to ...

My overall home buying experience was stressful and almost traumatic. By far the worst purchasing experience I've ever dealt with. There was an extreme lack of communication with everyone involved. My closing date was moved up without my knowledge only to satisfy the managers' quota for the month. I felt more like a number on a sales performance board than an actual customer making one of the most important purchasing decisions of my life. My interest rate was changed from what was discussed so I had to follow up multiple times to have it changed back. The house repairs were not fixed from ...

From being promised the wrong interest rate to having the closing date moved (not to mention several times) on the day of because of negligence from a laborer on sight. I would not recommend working with this specific San Antonio branch. The communication within Lennar was clearly poor and made the experience excruciating.

The buyer process was so many people involved, had to do too much coordination on my own. Too many different portals to do things in. Poor construction and was told “you can only call in 1-year warranty items all at once, only one time”. Never have heard that in any of my previous home buying experience. So, essentially, there is actually no warranty, if that’s the case. Can’t get a hold of the sales manager, she won’t return my calls conveniently AFTER I closed on the home. Hmmm…. Plus, on the warranty paperwork they ask you to sign after some work is done, there’s NO PLACE for notes - why ...

This has been awful. I have submitted a complaint to corporate already regarding the experience. We were lied to. Pressured. Lied to some more. Not given proper communication. Pretty positive we have retaliation from the sales and construction managers. No one has contacted us and we will be contacting the Better Business Bureau because of the lack of care.

Lennar prides itself on holding a large market share, and talk about it in their spiels to rope people in, but one thing that is conspicuously absent in their spiel is a commitment to communication and quality of workmanship. Lennar seemed to have an incredibly difficult time with communicating and keeping us up to date on correct information when available, from the selling rep ("real estate agent" I guess?), to the loan processors who were quick to answer emails and pick up phones when we had outstanding items, but left voicemails unreturned when not. We promised and assured we would meet a ...

Probably the worst consumer buying experience in my life. I have bought many new homes, from many different builders and the lack of professionalism I experienced from this home builder goes beyond description. I'm so over my Lennar home purchase fiascos that I'm just done even mentioning it anymore. I will never.... ever.... ever.... spend my hard earned money on another Lennar Home nor will I ever recommend them to anyone I know or who inquires about my experience with this builder..

Unfortunately my agent did not check in with me regularly to give me updates. My closing date was pushed back 5 times. The last 2 times I was notified in less than 48 hours. The delays turned out not to be due to the supply chain issues but instead Lennar dropped the ball with city permits and permits for my gas meter. I was given the excuse that they lost construction staff in my neighborhood. When I moved in the "deep clean" was not done and several items needed work. It took about 3-4 weeks to resolve. Unfortunately for my subdivision it seemed as though no one was communicating with each ...

This is a 410k house but like 100k. Nothing is even, straight, or symmetrical. You should be ashamed of yourselves for selling this. Also, can we get a translator when someone comes to make touch ups or repairs? Soo far the communication is awful and they leave worse than it started and have no idea what we are saying. This entire house is a disappointment and until it’s fixed I’m recommending no one

My family and I had a terrible home buying experience. Our loan officer had a personal matter come up and literally ghosted us. His leadership didn’t pick up the ball or reach out to us on their own. After multiple times of trying to reach our loan officer we finally went above his head and were able to get in contact with someone who was able to help a little. We weren’t told if we were approved for the loan or not until 2 days before closing all while proactively trying to make arrangements and plan as we had to move to the new location from out of town. Blue tape walk through issues weren’t fully addressed. Overall build and quality of the home is terrible. The flaws are starting to show. Major corners were cut and the integrity was compromised.
