I was told like many of my neighbors that we would only get 15 feet of sod. They got full sod and I didn’t. When I finally requested my sod installed… it was too late. There are other houses in the neighborhood that do not have their sod installed yet; but we are too late (don’t understand). The house did not come with towel racks in both bathrooms, no walk in shower door, no fans, no garbage door opener, no sprinklers, no doorbell, no water spout in the back of the house and the other frames of the windows were not painted. The fencing stopped short allowing people to walk to the windows of ...

Dealing with Lennar has been a nightmare! Their responsiveness is non existent and anytime there is a problem, they pass the buck to someone else and you never get a straight answer from anybody. We were warned to stay away from Lennar but we did not listen and we paid the price. I would greatly advise any new home buyers to STAY AWAY FROM LENNAR!

First off after several (6-7x) of getting and sending my homeowners insurance correction after correction from the lending team I was threatened with being charged per day that the house went over closing even after sending them everything I was getting from progressive. So they forced my hand into Lennar Insurance. Then I had a family emergency where my mother needed surgery, so I needed to push our closing date by 2 days!!!! so that I may be with her Lennar homes said no that I needed to close or they would walk away as they were confident an investor would pick it up and close on the ...

Compared to my previous experiences with well-known home builders, working with Lennar was a nightmare. From start to finish, it was clear that their only priority was the bottom line. We had to constantly push for people to do their jobs, and when we did, the responses were unprofessional and inadequate. This also extends to the people who were supposed to respond to our complaints—there was no accountability. I would not recommend Lennar to anyone.

Lennar responded:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Ada. We sincerely apologize for the issues you've encountered during your homebuying experience. Never spoke with the same person before buying. Left wife off title despite being told to put her on it. Communication was the worst ever. Deadlines never met yet I was rushed to do my parts. Landscaping not put in when originally told. Builder took forever to finalize final inspection for city because of landscaping delay. This prevented me from getting utilities moved into my name until two weeks after signing. Kitchen base boards not attached to anything. Paint is terrible quality and is easily marked and damaged. Home buying process was stressful and no one from Lennar was helpful.

AC systems installed do not work as they should

  • Karina G.

I complained that my new AC system doesn't cool down in the afternoons & they claim it's normal as long as its 20 degrees cooler inside than outside so 80 degrees homes with 100 degree weather outside is normal to them & they won't fix regardless of the so called warranty. I'm 1 of MANY neighbors with the same complaint left to accept these hot conditions.

Lennar responded:
Good afternoon Karina,

Thank you for your feedback on resolving recent issues. Your feedback is crucial in helping us improve the homebuying process for future customers. In the meantime, for any general questions or warranty-related issues, you can easily submit a request online through your Lennar Account. Terrible workmanship and materials

  • Jacob V.

Lennar homes are terrible quality, seems like builder just rush their work and use the cheapest material as possible. Foundation cracks have appeared and have made my floor rise and lennar says that there is no foundation issue. Even after I have had my own third party foundation company tell me there are problems. Will never buy a lennar home again.

For buying a first home, I had a very stressful experience trying to constantly prove that money was money was available because they couldn’t read. Not till I got my realtor involved the “issues” cleared. Quality and craftsmanship is horrible, no pride in quality of work. When you do need answers during the process everyone blames everyone and says it’s someone else doing it. Too many hands involved. I would never buy a Lennar home again.

I want to say first how nice and responsive Amy and Stephen were that is who we dealt with most. They represent the company well. The problem I had is how much we were lied to. When we first walked in to view the house it was 281k and we were advertised a 4.25% interest rate. In a short 2 months it went up to 306k and 5.65%. We messed up and agreed. We got ripped off. Never again will I recommend to anyone or myself purchase a lennar product. I’m paying more for home owners insurance because I refuse to give Lennar any more of my hard earned money. We got taken advantage of. Some things still ...

The initial part of the home buying process was okay. It was until the inspection and after closing that the nightmares started to kick in. First, for starters, any real estate professional could see the gap between the foundation and the garage door. It seems like because I was out of town during the closing they just looked over the gap in hopes I wouldn’t say anything. I had to put in a claim for Lennar to come out and fix the issue that should have been fixed prior to closing. Second, there’s overgrowth of bushes and shrubs outside my property line. I reach out to Lennar regarding ...

If Lennar can save a nickel they will. They did not seal the walls, I am not sure if they just sprayed the walls with texture or if they actually used paint. The landscape was a mess, and we still have problems with the sprinkler system. We have dogs, so every day we have to walk to the yard and pick up styrofoam cups, fast food packages, and other garbage left to the wind.
