The home is a typical track home. The quality is decent. From the time of purchase we have been changing out the cheaper fits and finishes and installing better quality. The superintendent Carson has bent over backwards to help in any way possible. The neighborhood is great.

The hardworking sales staff was been exceptionally responsive to our concerns throughout the process. The design staff was a pleasure to work with. The building manager was responsive to our needs. There were some delays and lack of communication with the appraisal process. Perhaps not 5 star but a good experience overall and one that we were glad to have had.

Punch list completion challenge

All Pulte personnel acted in candid and professional manner from sales to finance to construction. However the home still has numerous punch list items to complete now one month after closing and no reliable information on when items will be completed. Punch list items are part of any complex construction project and Pulte must do a much better job of organizing in this area. It seems the priority is to just get to financial closing, not to actual job completed.

HVAC sub-contractor was poor

While the Pulte sales and the Pulte title groups were exceptionally good, the finish quality and the HVAC work in the home was sub-par and in some cases incomplete. Calls for warranty work were also sub-par.

Many issues with home. Pulte unresponsive.

We have many issues with our home including serious electrical issues. Lights are flickering and dimming in all rooms of the house. Pulte took 4 weeks to get the electrician back to our house and all they did was look in the breaker box and test a couple light switches. Then threw there hands up and said I don’t know. Our home also appraised below asking price $19,000. Here is the open list of issues that still need to be resolved: Screens in bedroom 2 & 3 bent. Sliding door track issues. Drywall bullnose between living kitchen area(sand and paint touch up). Wall between houses is ...

Good home, but for the money, not great

I feel the quality of our home we built with Standard Pacific (now CalAtlantic) homes was a better quality home. We had less issues moving in and the home was entirely ready when we moved in. However, Pulte told us they had a 7-9mo build time and it was done in 5, which put us in a bad spot with our lease. Then, they were scrambling to get everything done by closing. And when we moved in, there were still things missing or broken. Not the best experience and it didn’t give us much faith in the integrity of the home.

Floor plans are locked with little flexibility to changes other than what is already presented on the option sheet. You also may be asked to close on a house that is not 100% finished with a promise that it will be finished.

Pulte Homes - There was significant delay in completing our home that went

There was significant delay in completing our home that went beyond pandemic and supply chain issues. Our question as to what happened was never completely answered and initially we were given a less than honest answer. Communication in the beginning was lacking. One individual was terrific however. That was Duke our final project manager. The post sales process is also problematic. We have several lingering issues that are taking several emails and phone calls to get resolved.

I think the Pulte employees were all very well intentioned. I cannot know that about management as my interaction with them was lacking. I do think they were more interested in getting the house finished/closed than build quality. I feel like the completion of the house was rushed to get it closed. That's been reflected in the final appearance - the painting is seriously poor. We could have done a better job. Looks like 1 coat, numerous show through areas, ceiling paint on walls, wall paint on ceiling, semi-gloss on ceiling touch up areas, dry wall voids; crooked bathroom light fixture; ...

Model home was three years old when it was sold and we moved in on March 25th during Covid lock down. Hot water system had not been properly maintained and did not work in master bath. Response was 'you bought it as is' and we were brushed off by main office in Phoenix. We found our own plumber and had repairs done at our own expense. Other items on the final move in check list have still not been done as of May 28, 2020.

We recently bought a new Pulte home. We really like many aspects of the home and seems to be solidly built, but the finish quality and cleanup were very poor. Paint spatters, incomplete work, missing screen doors, missing or defective grout, paint footprints on the tile floors (!) and drips on the carpet and more. Pulte has been pretty responsive and are in the process of correcting these issues, but realistically the house at the price point should’ve been in more ‘perfect’ condition.

Pulte Homes - Both my husband and I think that Pulte should consider the following

  • Lorena S.

Both my husband and I think that Pulte should consider the following as standards. Prewire, front landscaping, height of toilets. These are just some examples of things that are basic common sense. For the amount of money one is paying, we expected these to be standard.

Pulte Homes responded:
Thank you for your feedback! We value what you have to say and we will share your comments with our leadership team. If you have additional thoughts, we're always listening at socialcare@pultegroup.com. --Sarah

We moved into a Catalina. We are still waiting for punch repairs. Finish work is not great. Cabinets are already slitting. Too many items still being found to list. Wall finishes are thin and scrape off with cleaning. Main issues: paint, tile, cabinets, pavers, garage flash installed backward, defective hot water heater. Etc.

Dealing with Pulte requires lots of patience

So we love the floor plan and location of our new build. Unfortunately once you close, responsiveness to issues and follow-up drops off. I understand the supply chain problems and global events out of the builders control, but that does not excuse lack of a response to issues(even just to schedule something) once you sign the closing papers. A number of issues were raised that have yet to be addressed by Pulte or it's representatives. Been waiting over a month just to get a response for a service order. The cabinet workmanship was mediocre, the interior paint and flooring quality poor(tiles ...

We love the house. But there are so many cosmetic issues after closing. The manager on site seems like he didn’t regular his contractors on their workmanship and the quality of the house before closing on the house. After, closing we had to call in and address alot of problems and he was very selective on which emails he wanted to answer or reply. He was very unresponsive. For example, we contacted him about the issues and asked him to schedule for repair services he didn’t answer at all and it been like 2 weeks. I had to call costumer services and they told me they would have him to call me ...

Overall, fairly happy with the build quality of the house. Were not happy at all with the level of cleanliness and finish when we moved in, and the process of getting them to come fix issues is like pulling teeth. We've had to do a lot of the work ourselves, which is unacceptable for a house at this price point. Wish we could give a better review, but Pulte leaves us with little choice.

It’s a beautiful home in a stunning desert location. There are little problems that have not been addressed to our satisfaction ie: chipped quartz counter top, We have owned out home nine weeks now and still have issues to be resolved. A partial list: scratched and stained tub/shower enclosure, leaking toilet flush valve, damaged exterior trim (gable), screws sticking through drywall, cracked laundry room utility sink, missing grout, light switches not dimming, scratched window and paint spots on many surfaces. Several issues have been remedied but once the project manager moves on, customer ...

Be prepared to follow up with your customer care representative and keep a pulse on your punch list of items that need to be fixed. I received mismatched appliances and poor flooring installation followed by excessive delays in getting things fixed. I still don't have fixes to specific items 5 months post closing.

With supply issues and everything going on in the world, made our home buying experience difficult. We were initially quoted a 6-8 month time frame to build home but lasted over a year. We felt the last month of the home building process was rushed. Our final walkthrough we were missing flooring in 70% of the home. We were missing mirrors, medicine cabinets, and due to design center error wrong backsplash installed. Pulte construction is doing what they can. The contractors is what they are having issues with. They have also been slow to fix things since we moved in.
